remember when we used to tweet at him for lore questions, especially to resolve such disputes or inaccuracies

The catch-all-excuse for when you have not a slightest clue of or care for what you’re doing as a writer.

While the drought of players is indeed real and is affecting role-play, I also believe a lot of people in the Horde actively avoid Orgrimmar as an RP spot.

Where’s the exterminatus button when you need it?

Can we do what open source developers do, and fork the lore?

Shameless promotion

I personally nominate the WC5e project, specifically the 3.0 preview, to act as the “definitive” version.

What is that?

Unofficial Warcraft conversion for D&D 5th Edition. Pretty well fact-checked from what I’ve read, and not including the rubbish parts of the lore.

Next we know that these Shatterspears weren’t called because of their strength of arms, but because of their ability to spread the weed, love and peace and ‘shattered spears’ in doing so.

As a blue dragon nerd, I know this bit! The whole paragraph is taken from a quest basically:

They [these highborne] sacrificed their lives in order to create this artifact in an attempt to draw energy away from the portal through which the demons were flooding Azeroth.

https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Mystery_of_the_Sarcen_Stone

It refers to the portal at Zin-Azshari naturally. Not the Dark Portal. It makes you wonder if there is truly this huge “developer team” checking every detail. It’s a freaking huge mistake.

I think he’s just reading some wowpedia article and going “okay here’s the quest text about this zone, let’s turn this paragraph into a book!”. That’s about it. He read “demon going through portal” and thought “oh, dark portal then”.

Blue dragons are long gone - it’s written in the past tense. After all, the stone has been retrieved by an NPC (weird, I recall I retrieved it?).

“Might be a the lake is still a special place to their kind” makes it sound like they’re still there at times.

Apparently the book talks about Nordrassil during the Kaldorei Empire as well (when it didn’t exist…)

Someone got paid to write this. PAID.

Yes, I am offended on so many levels, all of them technical and professional. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

How are Twitter nerds dealing with these issues, if they too are seeing them? I want some madness.

same way as here really - at least the ones i dont have blocked lol

So long as these awful lore mistakes are being picked up and laughed at, it is good.
