Well that’s not entirely true, is it now? If anything, it would be the other way around. The End Time dungeon is described in the following way in the Dungeon Journal: ’ One of an infinite number of potential outcomes, this timeway depicts the desolate future of Azeroth should Deathwing fail to be stopped.’
And Nozdormu himself even confirms that the Murozond we defeat in the dungeon is a future version of himself and not the “real” version, as can be seen below.
Nozdormu says: At last it has come to pass. The moment of my demise. The loop is closed. My future self will cause no more harm.
Nozdormu says: Still, in time, I will… fall to madness. And you, heroes… will vanquish me. The cycle will repeat. So it goes.
Doesn’t even really need to if he knows he dies in the End Time branch. He knows when he dies, so anything that happens before then can’t kill him.
Would be kinda neat to see that mechanically represented actually, like we do beat him up but then time just resets and he’s gone, because the hardcoded timeline says no.

Fair points, I suppose that could make for some cool encounters and story bits, if they were played properly. Knowing the writers, they probably forgot about End Time.
I wouldn’t mind a raid fight against him, for some reason I found the hourglass cool as a mechanic.
If anything, it might actually be quite likely that we see “MU” Murozond in the coming expansion or the one thereafter if the dialogue and descriptions from the dungeon is anything to go by.

Some interesting additions here.
“The backstory of what happened in the post Galakrond era, where the dragons met with the Titans, what happened between them and the dragons protecting the planet. The future following that is something that we’ve never really delved into. So there’s a lot of really cool story threads there to chase after.”
–
“We wanted to try to spread back out again, get some of that classic Stranglethorn Vale feel,” Jeremy Feasal continues. “Huge expanses of trees in between spaces where we can have wildlife and really cool POIs. Characters that might be lost out there, little vignettes to discover.”
–
"The Dracthyr and Evoker are kind of one-thing tied together. It’s not just casting spells, it’s using the internal power of a dragon.”
–
“The Dracthyr are going to be able to participate in the dragonriding system and mechanics too,” Graham confirms. “Dracthyr have wings so they get to fly and they use the same style of momentum and gravity that dragonriding drakes do. During their starter experience, you get introduced to the new mechanics with tutorials and all that stuff."
Plus more snippets, probably worth the read tbh.
Would love that, honestly.
Would redeem Shadowlands for me in one, fel, tail-tripping, screaming swoop!
From this article:
“With Dragonflight we wanted to create zones that feel like they hit that level of vastness that you want from a place where dragons would exist,” Jeremy Feasal says. “Almost everything has to be a little bit bigger, a little bit wider. You want to have those giant rolling planes where a dragon can swoop down and munch up a whole bunch of primal sheep.” With dragons in the mix the team at Blizzard actively set out to create larger zones that players have seen in recent expansions, places that the team now calls “a little cramped”.
Have our prayers of zone design been heard? @Jenit
Also Jerry also said that the team wants to step back from cosmic stuff to focus more on history and culture, which is a trend in the MMO genre atm with both ESO and FFXIV taking a step back to return to their roots of exploring the world around us. Even SWTOR is on that trend at the moment after the literal cosmic stuff of Vitiate being left behind to focus on the heritage of the Sith.

Was anything said as to why exactly do these dragon bros split and join horde and alliance btw? Not sure if I missed it or it is yet to be seen.
Cosmic stuff gets so…bloated after a while. And boring.
WoW was definitely the worst of the bunch too. Mainly because WoW’s cosmology has always been boring. It’s been the weakest part of the franchise since, well forever. Really glad they are taking a step back and focusing more on its strengths(hopefully)
Worldbuilding has always been the strength of WoW for me and expansions that focused on worldbuilding first instead of having a story-driven focus were the best ones. MoP started off on the premise of “Cool new land, let’s go explore” and it remains the best expansion to date.
Dragonflight seems to be banking on what worked instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and we simply are just exploring a cool new land.

Agree with you there, and I am all for it.
Also still really curious about the dragon flying/taming mechanics. I like that stuff.
The only thing this is missing is new customisation that they said they’d revisit after Shadowlands.
I don’t care for the Dracthyr beyond making one to get the Lore:tm: but just like vulpera, it will be incredibly easy to ignore them in RP if I don’t want to encounter them. To date I have never interacted with a vulpera IC.

Why wouldn’t they want to hang out with us? I’m really cool.
More seriously because they’re experiments by Neltharion who’ve been basically in stasis for 10000 years I guess they join up because of vibes. Might get explained in the starter zone like Pandaren had too.
Also heritage sets for those that still lack them.
And that. Complete the heritage sets and customisation and I have nothing to complain about.

i’ve always figured it was based on the npcs model number rather than skeleton.
so when they decide to alter the model/texture/code for a certain NPC they get its ID number and alter the code thusly.
this means any NPC that shares its skeleton and model but with its own unique ID won’t be changed, I figured this is the case because you can still find some old cat models from classic, and the only thing that sets them apart from the rest is that they are either named or one of a kind in some other way, which means they likely have their own NPC ID and thus any updates does not apply.
I guess we’ll learn everything from their starting area, much like DKs and DHs.
Also Jerry’s interview, as quoted by Vakosh, points out that the power of the Evokers isn’t spellcasting per se, but invoking the inherent essence of a dragon.
So if I drain soul a dragon and eat their soul, do I inherit their power?

How you doing fellow human?

I feel like there is too much visual clutter when it comes to their human forms.
Also why does the Human have Blue scales but the Dragon is green?
