It is, but WotLK has a simple design, easier way to gear, wouldn’t cost me hours and hours to gear up, and I would have deep freeze again, my long lost lover. Tbh if it weren’t for the fact that I have all my friends on retail, I would have moved.
I enjoy dragonflight but half of it it’s a constant FOMO. Goblin spawn with rare TCG mount? Better not lose it! Trading post with a limited time mount each month, better not lose it if you’re a collector! On top of that, BFA and SL inflated the mount with hundreds of useless recolors. Collecting isn’t fun anymore.
Tbh I liked older frost much more. Deep freeze was fun to play, but infuriating to play against. The elemental I always preferred as a cd rather than as a perma pet too. Bad for rp, but better for gameplay imo.
You can and you make a perfectly reasonable point but I hate it regardless.
I don’t even RP as a frost mage. In fact, unless the situation calls for it, I try to avoid summoning a pet which just means more stuff to animate via emotes.
But still, losing customization options is not something I am keen of. Take Tyrenas’ channel, where you see Wrall’s enlarged water elemental release a frost beam in a pvp campaign. Or when he has this giant water elemental in the Darkshire campaign. That moment was so cool it’s still stuck in my head now.
Also my poor warlock, I had a good buddy relationship with my observer, mostly because it could be a selfish magic devourer, just like my warlock. They were kindred spirits I tell you! and now instead it’s gone. It’s all gone.
It seems that all the Quality writing, Feelgood and “I am here to Destroy Your Feels™” continues to be saved for the Side Quests, while the Main Storyline is busy flipping a coin on whether it will be coherent for a bit, or whether it’s going to take a turn licking windows.
Don’t you like Alexstrasza being celebratory and all about victory in Abberus while Fyrrak is just swiping through the Dragon Isles with his all so dangerously corruptive Shadowflame?
So with all the hype surrounding Blizzard’s out of the blue decision to remove the Observer from the Warlocks pet… Customisation, I was thinking about a solution to having both their cake and eat it; and the only solution I could come with on the top of my head is them using the main pets for their customisation system… And then have Warlocks be able to use “Enslave Demon” akin to how Hunters tame pets…
Ofcourse there should be some limitations like Pit Lords and Eredars, obviously!
But its a way for them to have Warlocks use their main pets with their new customisation system AND have them pick and choose the pets(low quality models or not) they want!
Some certainly are, but the immense majority of red draenei we see are just regular trash. Power levels are all over the place for every kind of demon save a few like imps, wyrmtongues, pit lords and dreadlords and the most notable example of this are the aranasi, who range from women with spider legs on their backs commanding entire forces to literally just spiders
Kiljaeden and archimonde were, as their clown raid boss size implies, the exception rather than the rule
Honestly, I think it might be overthinking that a tad. There are a lot more powerful things out there for you to do as a class in Warcraft than summoning demons like Eredar, unless we’re talking about Eredar of the power level of Archimonde and such.
I don’t think that they would need to lock options like that out just because of ‘power levels’, especially in a game where power levels and limitations to how flashy and over the top magic can be have been dead since day one.
This is the same game where warlocks could do metamorphosis to (momentarily) turn into greater demons, mages can summon meteors, and warriors can get so angry that they defy every law of the universe. Let them summon funny demons.
