PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 3)

There was just one thing here that tickled me a little.

CHARACTERS

  • Dark Iron Dwarf
    • Mole Machine exits have been added for zones in Kul Tiras, Zandalar, Dragonflight, and Shadowlands.

Dark Iron interdimensional mole machines confirmed.

Already knew that since you could use the Brewfest Mole Machine in Outlands, Draenor, Argus and Shadowlands :stuck_out_tongue:

Fair enough, but tunnelling through to the afterlife is some next level stuff.

Didnā€™t mind the crazy clown ones myself, but itā€™s good that we now got 3 options out of this. Good stuff, though Iā€™d put it in a barber instead of glyph tbh.

Superior dark iron engineering.

Was just thinking about this last night. Magical.

Dark Iron Mages have never walked a day in their lives.

Tunneling through time and space is a short ordeal for themā€¦

The headache-inducing premise of Shadowlands continues to induce headaches even when that expansion is no longer current content.

sylvanas needed to break the helm of domination to enter the shadowlands. the dark irons just need one drill pointing in the right direction

Theirs is the drill that will pierce the heavens

I wouldnā€™t mind if, to save hard drive/SSD space, Blizzard decided to ā€œVaultā€ Shadowlands, Destiny-style! With the removal of Threads of Fate (I know this occurred some time ago but I only learned about it recently) it holds absolutely no purpose to me any more.

It would also prevent that army of DKs from hanging around the Valley of Strengthā€¦

Consider the canon that the afterlife realms are functionally islands in a three-dimensional sea. There is no true landmass from which to emerge, but surely a central hub in Oribos. Were zereth mortis truly at the heart of things, Zovaal would not have needed to look for it beyond deduction and your common astrolabe-like device.

Its not removed? I literally used it to skip the levelling campaign on my warlock last night.

Saurfang had her figured out all along.

ā€œYou just keep failing!ā€

Saw this tweet this morning, interesting if Eldreā€™Thalas becomes more prominent in the World Saga.

Interested in it being Wyrmrest Temple in Northrend as well as Ulduar/Sholazar; possibly the main location of The Last Titan? (Updated Wyrmrestā€¦?)

When did you start that Threads of Fate?

In Dragonflight they removed Threads, and on a recent character I was not able to access it. If any character had already started on ToF prior to Dragonflight, then itā€™s still accessible to them. Here is a Blizzard announcement on the issue you may have missed. Iā€™m not aware of any re-insertion of the mechanic since this announcement.

"Removed the ability for players who have not started Threads of Fate to access the system.

  • Developersā€™ notes: The goal with Threads of Fate was to help alleviate the linear path of Shadowlands for alts as it was the only way for players to level from 50 to 60. Now that Shadowlands has been moved into Chromie time and Chromie Timeā€™s level cap has been increased to 60, players have a multitude of methods to reach level 60. Players currently in Threads of fate can continue through it, but the option will not be available for any new characters.

  • We do not have plans to do similar removals with Dragonflightā€™s Adventure Mode in future expansions. Threads of Fate is a choice to use in Shadowlands and irreversibly changes a playerā€™s character once it is chosen. It previously created two different experiences of Shadowlands, which would double to four with both of the level up and Threads of Fate being accessible within Chromie time. Adventure Mode in Dragonflight is an overlay to the level up experience and is always on once it is earned regardless of decisions the player makes.

EDIT: Iā€™m specifically referring to Shadowlands here. Threads of Fate was specific to Shadowlands.

The three points in Northrend are Wyrmrest Temple, Ulduar, and Wintergrasp; all locations of Titan structures.

The map of Kalimdor is wrong, though. Thereā€™s sea where the Barrens should be, but the points do indeed seem to be Unā€™Goro, Eldreā€™thalas, and Thenā€™Ralore.
