PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 3)

If they take the rooftop OOC chatter with them, I’m sold already.

Calling it now. Marran Trollbane is gonna be the one who eventually leads us to the Arathi Empire and causes us to fight the empire initially.

What did I miss? Spoil it!

I am not against having the former Capital of the Arathi Empire being the reason we get into the Arathi Empire’s new lands!

Holy shenanigans!

Thrall did not know Geye’rah was his Alt-version!!!

Geye’rah knew. Aggra knew… thrall did not!

Yeah it’s not a terribly clever twist when you have the big names of Thrall, Jaina Proudmoore, Eitrigg, Geyarah, Danath Trollbane and… never heard of before temporary regent of Stromgarde Marran, who I am sure will absolutely not stoke the fires of conflict.

That said, I did enjoy that the writers made it pretty clear that humans clamoring for “the old ways” by conquering their ancestral homelands are lunatics.

I agree. People clamering for “the old ways” by trying (and failing) to conquer their old and ancestral lands are lunatics and should be made fun of wherever they are… :smirk:

Isn’t it cool how they invented a whole new character for their faction villain bat instead of using an established one for it.

Sure wish they’d cracked the code on that before butchering Sylvanas. Oh well, lol!

Not gonna lie, with the many, many, notable Warcraft families we have… They could use it more in the future to make Turalyon’s comment on how fragile the peace really is , true…!

I do wish they’d use this more on the Horde, without making them full blown villians and, more like anti-heroes instead, just to increase the Horde roster of leaders!

Geye’rah did increase alot in my opinion, ngl! And I hope we get more characters like her! Even tho she was fully onboard for genociding every Alliance member for allying with the (Lightforged) Draenei, lmao… We’re all just ignoring that!

we still don’t know his last name or what noble family he came from btw

isn’t that weird?

I think it’s weird.

He shed it all when he joined the Church. Choosing his future in the church above the future of his (noble-)family!

What a Legend. :joy:

The new story is generally neat, went into greater detail about it in the Red versus Blue thread, but it’s a shame that we’re getting Goblin Town instead of the Rootlands for the 11.1.

It’s an unfortunate point in favour of my conspiracy theory that 11.0 was closing the book on Khaz Algar and most of Danuser’s work, in favour of working on Metzen’s stuff instead. At least we get a whole lot of content that is focused on a Horde race though, so I’ll try and cut back on my “where is the Horde” whining for a while.

Will we get a song once we go down down down to goblin town though?

I’ve personally disliked Goblins ever since they turned Azshara into one big giant Horde symbol on the map. I care far less about the Horde or the Alliance and more about the various Elves so it was disappointing to see such an iconic and historical zone reduced to…that.

All that being said, Goblins as a playable race were introduced in Cataclysm alongside Worgen. It’s only fair, I suppose, if Goblins get some time in the spotlight and some new or reclaimed territory to balance out Gilneas being restored and the Night Elves receiving a new World Tree.

I do hope it doesn’t mean the Rootlands as a potential zone is cut, though.

It’s Turalyon Windrunner :smirk:

Hope we get clear answers what happened with all the Cartels outside of the Bilgewater or Steamwheedle.

That said, the entire Undermine should be Horde territory after the patch! I hope we get those other island(s) from the Goblin starter zone to explore too!

#hype for the car!

Sure we do, it’s Turalyon. First and middle name, ‘High Exarch’!

The biggest upside for me is the dev who spoke about it being a serious goblin story and not just humour and explosions. It’s a bit of a throw-away comment, but it’s a massive :+1: from me.

It’ll be nice to get something that isn’t Deus-Ex-in-a-box or Downfall references or a spy just walking around with a block of cheese on his head.

I’m sure there will be plenty of humor and flanderisation in this patch, but it looks to be a densly packed content drop, so I don’t think even blizz could stretch the “silly green man go boom bam badabing” to the point it becomes super grating.

Ion did mention more haranir content coming, so perhaps in a .2 patch? It’s following the same format as this patch if the roadmap to be believed. Likely makes sense to have undermine now as a “break” and then rootlands leading into whatever will be the setup for midnight instead of swapping them and having undermine leading into midnight.

It will instead be omega cool, we get to drift in goblin hotrods!
