This is a terrible practice. Especially with how we all might prefer to see our warband elsewhere than Khaz Algar or Ohn’aran Plains.

Ohn’ara is unlocked automatically, ‘Cultusts Quay’ behind Season 2 delves, and Khaz Algar/Gallagio behind two meta-chivos which don’t look too onerous to complete.
Nothing that looks like a real skill check requirement from my eyes.
at least they didn’t add them to the blizzard store
Please don’t give the corpo-overlords ideas…
on the phone to my uncle right now
might finally get an invite back to the family getaway
The warband backgrounds are such a non-feature I’m not too bothered about them being locked behind game content. Very much in the ‘this is neat but I will stop caring about it 5 mins after I change it once’ category.
Which is kind of why I figured they didn’t need to be locked behind game content.
I don’t care enough about them to actively go after them, so why bother locking them at all? Just let people change the background.
Thankfully! I will deffo use the Ohn’ahra plains one, since I have mostly Night Elves, and its their new capital zone!
A shame you don’t see Amirdrassil in he background, but I am positive they’ll eventually add proper racial backgrounds for the Warbands! (Azuremyst, Silvermoon, Bel’ameth/Ashenvale/Hyjal, Suramar, Orgrimmar/Nagrand, etc etc)
One should certainly hope so! A modernized Quel’Thalas background would go hard.
Exactly! So I wouldn’t mind if they waited for other races to have an updated “capital” like Midnight’s Quel’thalas/Silvermoon! In the meantime races like Tauren, Gnomes could use Highmountain and Mechagon, for example, which still looks oke and impressive!
You eat those words
Darn, that firehawk looks lit!
Actually kinda jealous Chinese players get these kind of awesome looking mounts!
“Available through a separate promotion also starting on January 15th, the Golden Ashes are one of several items obtained from Landro’s Loot Box, a “mystery box” style microtransaction in which players spend real money to open blind boxes for various random rewards.”
“Each crate costs about ¥200 RMB (~$27 USD) depending on how many are purchased at once”
“Mystery box style microtransaction” Like some sort of box, with loot in it.
Wowhead writers will always fascinate me.
Hmmmnnnn, exclusives.
Thanks. I hate it.

They should add microtransaction loot boxes to the non-Chinese version of the game.
Terminal consumer brain
Thanks, I Hate this More
Isn’t that against EU law?
One of the biggest enemies of WoW are its own playerbase. Ready to gobble up anything and everything served on their plate not realizing they’re ruining the eco-system and rewarding bad practices.
By the time I saw that anniversary 90$ Brutosaur and how so many bought it, I knew there was no chance for ever changing the game’s culture.
Do not question, just consoom.
