PTR Spoiler/Discussion Thread (Part 4)

Yeah, I like it. It makes sense that in the Draenei’s haste to flee, sometimes a few stragglers were left behind. It’s ugly, but it does add even more tragedy to an already very tragic story. It’s not a retcon, and it fits very nicely.

Was seemingly more fixed on Velen himself rather than the rest of the Draenei.

I mean you already had Broken on Argus, and stragglers left behind on Outlands, aswell…

So it wasn’t unheard off as far back as TBC!

It actually makes for a pretty tight addition ngl.

It was known that the Legion always stayed rather close to the draenei on their flight. And again, this batch is not “mere” draenei civilization. They are found in the middle of the Void, with non-petinent demons among their ranks. Both components are an anathema to the normal draenei, and they should consider themselves lucky to have a chance at re-indoctrination instead of being shot on the spot as… well, demons and Void things usually are?

I do hope we learn how it is that they’ve apparently been… fine? No detrimental side effects?

No, they are not. These guys were abducted from the world they were staying on to fight for entertainment in the Voidstorm. They do not have a civilisation in the Voidstorm itself.

Are they actually Draenei if they’re not Naaru spaceship passengers? Wouldn’t they be just regular non-demon Eredar.

in any case it’s neat and I like it. Makes the universe seem bigger that there can be little groups like that

They were passengers of the Genedar, but when the Draenei had to flee again, this particular group was too far away to actually get back on time.

This is hilarious as it implies that Velen should have just committed Sepuku or delivered himself to KJ thus sparring numerous worlds from meeting an “early” end to the Legion’s sniffing the Draenei there.

Ok, then yeah Draenei makes sense

Heck yeah!

Now we’re talking!

On a serious note, this sounds so cool.

They would be. We don’t know when in the exodus this occurred exactly but any who chose to follow Velen in fleeing Argus were by default Draenei, exiled ones.

I think the main Draenei lady we encounter even makes the point of calling herself Twice-Exiled.

Looking forward to the lore that explains why the Domanaar are so blasé about the Void’s mission to unmake reality, when it seems like they are second only to the Void Lords in the Cosmic Void’s hierarchy.

Why do they obsess over gladiatorial bloodshed, when that’s got nothing to do with the overarching goal of the metaphysical force that they literally embody? This is a genuine question asked out of curiosity, as I’d like to know a lot more details before I judge them. Depending on the reason, they could be interesting and compelling, or they could just be a very strange attempt to humanise the Void.

The draendraen, my new favourite subfaction.

It’s that easy!? No font of power to cure their inherent Fel creation? No constant source of Fel to devour to sustain them? Just. . .give them. . .performative wrestling and you can tame the endless demonic hordes that wish to engulf the universe?

Every druids arcane. Look at the spell list!

… though I suppose that joke kinda falls as they do use arcane if titan is arcane and they use the dream thats titan magic and so nature is arcane magic.

but then titan lore is boring snd changed so much so I dunno.

this part i admit i want to see more context on. it took illidan feeding demons the ley energy beneath karabor to break (and likely addict) his demon forces. might see more when more on this draenei settlements divulged. at least I hope so for lores sake

Thankfully there is a Void Guy in Voidstorm who speaks like an omniscient developer is talking through him to explain all this to us lowly peasantry.

They want to unmake the universe in a culturally refined way you see, which is why we’re now forming an alliance with them and giving them a lil’ corner of Silvermoon. It’s bigotry to only perceive the destruction of the universe as a negative thing, they’re doing it in a refined and cultural way you see.

This is the exact way ChatGPT formulates character personalities btw if you ask it to make some form of fantasy character. It creates a self-referential meta snark. Take from that what you may.
