PUG raiding is a waste of time and not enjoyable

Me and a few friends just made a pug raid to kill HC Guardian of the first one.
We spent 1h 40 minutes, and only managed to make 5 pulls, with active fight time around 13 minutes.

The rest of the time was spent forming the group, summoning people at the stone, traveling through the entire raid instance due to a bug that prevented us from appearing at the highest echelon of the instance whenever we resurected or entered the instance, instead we appeared after The Nine, replacing people who leave, going back out to summon new players, going all the way back to the boss again and so on.
I spent more time running through the instance than fightning the boss.

How is this enjoyable gameplay?
I dont at all mind wiping on a boss while people are learning the fight. In fact, I find progressing on a boss highly enjoyable. I don’t even mind finding replacements. But the logistics surrounding PUG raiding makes the reward per time spent extremely low.

This logistics can highly be diminished by game design, but since there isn’t any steps taken to adress these issues from developers I can only interpret that as Blizzard doesn’t care about their subscribers who are PUGing the content.

Is this some kind of a revelation? I mean everyone knows it, raiding is for guilds, pugging has always been terrible.

tbh if i dont have a guild to raid with i dont raid at all. pugging raids is definitely doable but not worth my time.

It’s not worth it to pug raids.

Best bet is to find a guild that fits your schedule.

HC is not intended for pugs, sure you can pug it if you really really want, but that’s not the intention.
If you get locks first, you can summon straight near the boss and save yourself some time.

Well i can’t seem to find a guild to raid early with

I’m sure there are a lot of guilds recruiting on your realm. I’m not in a raiding guild myself, but it’s my own decision, so I’m content to do lfr and nothing else.

Yikessssssssss i guess

Well i’ve tried to find one but the earliest that i can find is around 7:30 pm when i wana raid around at 6:00 pm.

For sure.
Not much to be done about it though.
Not like it’s something Blizz can delete or change in any way.
Don’t like PUGs. Then don’t do PUGs is the only solution I’m afraid.
…I do prefer PUGs but that’s because I’m a bit of sadist.

Pugs will always be chaotic and annoying due to the mix of people that know that wipes are normal and people that ragequit after a single wipe (something dubbed “wrath babies” back in the days). However thats something one can easily deal with.

Sanctums main problem is that the respawn point on a wipe is a complete mess. And it has been since release. Fixing that would already solve most issues with the raid for a pug. One reason why guilds always have 1 guy ress everyone else after a wipe and nobody is allowed to release.

Sadist? as if you cause the pain?
Didnt you mean masochist becasue you are already used to endure the pug life?

If you ask the people I’m in a group with I’m pretty sure they all say I’m the cause of the pain ^^

I may or may not cause a couple of wipes and stir up some drama for my own enjoyment…

I’m not there for the loot.

I haven’t pugged Sanctum yet but it was always slower to pug Nathria than it was to run with a guild.

I think some runs on reset during the day can be quite quick but they are very picky with whom they take.

I’d argue that raiding itself is a waste of time but what do I know I’m a pet battler and a collecter.

Do you go onto random other sites to say “I don’t do gymnastics / swimming” so I consider it a waste of time"?

Players play PuG raiding for quick Hop in and kill bosses fast raids.

If your group does not deliver on that, ofc they will leave.

“Progression” on bosses are for guild raids.

Most people who do PuG raiding just wants to slap some bosses fast

Disagree strongly. Most people pugging want to get carried and are hoping against hope all the other people know the tactics so they can hide in the herd.
