Hi community,
I need a basic guide to understand what should I dispeld and what to purify.
Then also some suggestions on an addon that can show me what can be dispeled and what can be purified will be also appreciated.

Purify = defensive dispel
Dispel magic = offensive dispel
There’s no real rule on when to use purify this is gamesense as you need to know if you might need another dispel before the next 8 secs
Dispel magic is pretty much expensive as healer so use it when you’re in need of extra pressure. ie. Druid hots, paladin hand of freedom can be dispel’d
To help with purify I use bigdebuffs, changes the frames and increases the size of stuff I can use purify on, doesn’t tell you what to do but helps seeing in a glance and take the right decision
can bigdebuff or other addon show you also what can be dispelleD?

Purify is a magic/disease dispel. It means every debuff that is blue or yellow-ish/orange-ish you can dispel.

blue or yelowish where? the frame at the enemys name plate ? if yes is there an addon that can magnify those?
When you get a debuff on you you can notice that the icon has a color on the edges. A physical debuff (Rupture, Kidney Shot…) will be the bleed icon within a red square frame. A magical debuff (Purge of the Wicked, Hammer of Justice, Vampiric Touch, Polymorph…) will be the icon of the spell within a blue square frame. Poisons will be green. Diseases yellow/orange. Curses purple (Hex, Agony…). Maybe I forgot some.
This is a general rule that applies for what you can dispel. For instance there are debuffs that are red, so, physical color, are undispellable but removable with Cloak of Shadows (Execution Sentence or Schism) being good examples. The debuff is physical but its effect is magic, which is why Cloak works but not dispels.
But it always works when it comes to dispels, you only dispel the colors associated with your dispel type (magic + disease in your case).

You may find it handy to convert your party frame to raid style frame and move it towards the centre of your screen. On raid frames debufs are visible and with frame located more or less centrally you don’t have to divert your attention as much. Happy dispeling!

I use Simple Spell Steal to see buffs on enemies which are dispellable - Is classified as a mage addon but works a treat…
