So i’m one of those filthy entitled casuals you hear about in these parts. It’s cool, i play the game lightly here and there when i have time. I don’t expect to be doing raids and mythics and the like, and so i don’t expect to be showered in ilvl400+ gear each day. WQ gear is enough for me. But, as with most players, getting an upgrade (no matter how small) is always a welcome treat.
Now, when the season 2 was upcoming, i was pleased to hear the gear would be going up in ilvl. Only a little bit - but like i said, welcome treat.
Now I log in today to find that although the WQ gear has jumped from 330+ to 360+, it’s still blue. Going from 355-ish purples to 360 blues feels like a downgrade. I know it’s just a colour, and the ilvl increase is an upgrade, but seeing the blue puts this feeling in me of ‘why bother’.
Is that weird? Am i actually an entitled snowflake? I dunno.
I’m not actually complaining, I’m sure my character will be covering over the blue spots in purple gear from warfronts and lfr or whatever soon. I just wondered what anyone else’s thoughts are on the matter of gear colour. It’s a strange choice considering legion kept the purples for WQs after a certain breakpoint, no matter the patch.
i know it doesnt really have much to do with your post but.
is their even a difference between Uncommen, Rare and Epic gear anymore?
i seem to recall uncommen needing to be seveal ilv higher then rare before it gave better stats but doing leveling in bfa it seemed like it was just ilv that mattered.
difference with rarity and such seems nonexsisting to me.
Well the colour of the gear just used to be an indication of where you got it from, greens were world drop/world quests, blue dungeons and purple raid. These days colour seems more randomly allocated, doesn’t really matter a 360 piece is the same if its green, blue or purple.
One thing that comes to mind is the effect on enchanting mats, but I doubt that is why they did it. But maybe, who honestly knows anymore. Asking for consistency from blizzard right now is a bit like asking a fish to ride a bicycle. No matter how convincing you make your argument, its not going to happen.
Because only the top gear was Purple and everyone used to get excited if they got a piece of purple gear. Now no one gets excited about gear. All my gear is free Purple gear…keep it green blue unless you worked for it
