Can we please make this happen?
We all want this QoL change - yet we know it wont happen. Same goes for a lot of things. Blizz wonât back down on this sadly, having fluid gameplay equal âfun detectedâ in their eyes.
Probably someone going âbut it would give you one more global and be too reactive, as such OP!â or âIf you do that, people will just one-shot-macro, stupid!â
Yet, put those aside - I think most if not all would agree that the change would be a feels good improvement to pushing the button and make more people smile.
It needs to be off GCD since it was firstly implemented.
Iâve been saying this for years yet it is like talking too a brick wall with BlizzardâŠ
im in the complete opposite corner on this topic. I think blizzard need to readd more stuff back to the GCD so we can cut down on the âsWifFTy oNEshOT mAcrOâ spam that every melee seemingly uses to the point where its comedic. The skillexpression as a melee is already far too low so removing even more CD management from it just encourages more zugzug where people dont have any idea what so ever what their abilities do.
Found the guy I said would arrive, neat.
Counterargument. Having it off GCD will let you use it reactively to when you want to use it and need it. Instead of using it as part of a set-up. Or having it totally locked out. Forcing it into a sequence instead, making noone happy.
The faster you can use the ability - the more skillexpression will be seen in its usage. Trust me when I tell you, macroing sweeping strikes into your buttons and not using it as its own will be a huge DPS loss. Figuring this out and breaking out of the âone buttonâ, is a large step most melee take when they go from being average to above average.
Now also to meniton, it would also be less punishing for the not experienced players who very often âforgetâ to sweeping strikes - as when they pushed it to use it, it was GCD locked. Or lose their whole rotational rythm trying to force in a GCD losing their sweeping value.
Having it on GCD just feels bad for such an effect (A do nothing, profit in 3 globals). Yet I can agree that things like your core rotational abilties should be on GCD, I disagree and think that reactive defencives or powerboosters should not.
At the moment, blizz designs the game for âuse everything at onceâ rythms. If you want to walk away from one-shot-macroâs, you first need to make stacking CDs less efficent than spreading them out. Having them on GCD accomplishes nothing but make the game feel clunky and your options limited - as you are trapped into GCD locked sequences of buttons that feels just bad to press.
You can activate it during Charge to instantly start your rotation when you reach your target.
PvE wise I say it makes lot of sense to put it off GCD to stay competitive in fast âsmall add low hpâ quick cleave / aoe
PvP wise it must stay on GCD - getting it off would result in undesired gameplay changes - you would stack your MS to connect two of your targets so within one cd you SS and drop big MS. Currently this extra GCD is giving a reaction time window for enemies to split when they see whatâs gonna happen
