Hello there
So people who played in old expansion like mop and wod have access to the weapon illusions but not for elite tmog sets.
Same goes for Legion we have access to tmog set but not the illusion.
Is there any plans for the future that we can have access to everything?
Basicly thinking abaout like playing the game if u reach lets say 2.4k rating u get a trophy called: Old Gladiators Trophy or sometthing like this wich can be exchanged into set/illusion from older expansion or maybe do something with the Vicious Saddle since its just keep getting stacked even we if u have all the mounts and u have no reason to have them anymore.
Personally i have old Elite tmogs/illusion and i still would love to see more people using it who earned it.
All i wanna say is basicly thsese old stuff needs to come back. yes PVP is not the main thing. but maybe having a better cosmetic reward system would help the numbers a bit out
Yep, this kind of trash FOMO is the reason a lot of people canât even be bothered to farm cosmetics. Why even play the game now for non-power rewards when the best ones have long been removed, and they only put trash items in the game now.
Literally ALL transmog pieces and weapons after legion were a pile of trash, compared to the old and gold stuff.
Cloudsong glaive, Greatsword of Inferno, Mage tower, on top of all the Unique Elite PvP sets (that werent identical to normal set except different shade like now).
They already brought back some removed mounts and fomo stuff, just go all out and make these VERY HARD TO GET, but obtainable in game. But not with the Trader Outpost.
Youâre kind of skipping a lot of details there. Reason theyâre available, is because the transition from on-use items in the bags to the wardrobe system (which was a big change to the game btw), had a lot of bumps in it. So after about a year, year and a half, something like that, of a lot of complaints, Blizzard chose to make them obtainable for people with the duelist achievements from those corresponding seasons when they were obtainable.
Because Blizzard didnât save ladder data back then, and the FoS titles werenât as specific as they are now, and people could farm rating achievements on lvl 70 with twinks and wintrading and all kinds of shenanigans, while theyâd only lack access to the season titles (which were granted after the season had ended back then) due to playing on twinks instead of on max level.
Basically, there were so many loopholes to getting that kind of stuff, that Blizzard ended up in a position where they couldnât make everybody happy. So they went with the compromise of limiting it to those with the FoS from a corresponding season for the reward back then, of having received duelist or higher, since you could only get those on max level.
It also meant that people who got it in a season when the rating for duelist was lower than the rating for the illusion, would suddenly get access to the enchant illusion from that season, while those who reached the rating for it but didnât stay on the rating or didnât qualify for the season title, wouldnât get access to it.
Unfortunately, a compromise is a compromise.
So anyway, the reason they brought those illusions back to vendors, while limiting it only to those who played those seasons and got duelist or better title from one of those seasons, was just because they messed up the transition from on-use items in the bag, to the wardrobe system where itâs saved account-wide.
In Legion, WoW had the wardrobe system from the start, so there was no glitch preventing the rewards like that. Blizzard had just not put in any enchant illusion as a reward until Legion s3, so people who got the rating for it in Legion s1 or Legion s2, had some who mistakenly believed theyâd get access to it after Legion was over, because they thought it would be a thing every expansion to put in access to enchant illusions of the past.
They just fundamentally misunderstood why Blizzard did it in the first place.
Exclusive canât be exclusive without people being excluded. Itâs self-explanatory.
But it sounds like a more viable solution to your problems would be getting better cosmetic rewards from future rewards, instead of just bringing past exclusive rewards back to the game.
Blizzard have, by design, gone with a reward structure that glorifies achievements in specific seasons, meaning achieving something one season is not meant to be literally the same as achieving it some other season.
So what you want is for them to glorify future seasons better, instead of making past seasons lose more meaning. And keep in mind, removing FOMO effects from past reward designs, always carries its own consequences.
Well said. I feel like thay have done pretty good job when it comes to the elite sets for example. Every season, they seem to be getting better and better.
The enchants however, donât think anything will beat Glorious Tyranny, they seem to have moved away from those heavy particles, juicy appearance. The new enchants just feel like unfinished textures.
Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I realize there are many people who would disagree with me on that point.
Absolutely disagree. People who got certain rating in for example S2 SL are not on the same level as people who were playing during stuff like BFA S2/WoD.
