Mage is good allround
Yes DURING wotlk. the catch is ret was nerfed throughout wrath. Getting weaker each patch. Since wotlk classic will be 3.3.5 client you will get the most nerfed version of ret.
And also with setups like Cupid, PHP or Scooby Doo they will stay in tier S.
Also since the creation of the Preg paladins, they are filling the top spots in 2v and 3v for their versatility being very viable with many different classes.
Many people look at the ret or preg from a competitive point of view in 1v1, where it can only show 50% of its potential. It is a support spec that excels when it has a partner by its side.
Well I wouldn’t consider preg to be a ret paladin. It’s bascially a offensive holy paladin
Preg does not use a single point in Holy talents
Preg paladin is exactly what Blizzard meant holy paladin to be from the very start. A heavy armoured, melee combat support/healer.
The only problem is that this version of the holy paladin does dps comparable to rets in pvp. I dont believe that was originally intended.
Yes but you cant really say ret paladins are OP in wrath because of preg. since theyre more of a holy paladin.
I wouldnt say ret in wotlk is op, its just good in some combs. And preg isnt really op either, its powerful and toxic, thats all. Toxic, because the player deals really good dps while only autoattacking and with all the instant heal procs, there isnt much counterplay against it for many classes.
i dont wanna make a new post so i just ask here, do i remember right that rdruid is pretty meh on wotlk? especially 2s? rdru warr, rdru lock are the best options but a warr rather take a hpal and a lock rather take an rsham etc, just want some confirmation
Affli rdruid is a top tier comb in 2v2 from what I have seen on progress wotlk private servers, at least in early seasons. The problem with restodruid in 2v2 is, thats it plays quite slow with physical dps, because of the missing dispel. That doesnt make rdruid mmhunter, rdruid war or restodruid mutrog bad combs, but its not really fun to play against hard kiting combs.
Hpal will be good, if not the overall best healer in season 5 because of high survivablity, but with missing crit compared to later seasons the heal output feels lacking at times. Usually you will see Hpal with warrior, dk, warlock and ele, but the last 3 are more about “not losing” instead of straight up winning.
In the end every healer has at least one viable tier one comb in 2s, but I sure rdruid will be the hardest to enable considering all brackets, besides the mentioned 2v2 comb with affli.
ye thats what i thought, i heard about affli rdru but tbh its just the same problem, why would a lock play with an rdru when theres rsham? same with war/hunter/rog, theres hpal/disc for them which makes it 10 times easier.
