PVP gearing is easy?

Yeah agree. But its not compatible with blizz strategy of pvers being able to pvp with same gear.

Easy solution, make PVE gear 20% worse in a PVP environment. Level the playing field so they have to actually gear up like PVP people do, rather than just roflstomping there way into 2.1k with High ILVL and meme damage and being able to then get the 226 gear.

Yeah worked fine in wod. Better idea is to pvp being upscaled in pvp not pve downscaled imo.

isnā€™t that what versatility is supposed to do though basically? That is the defacto PVP stat. The trouble is, at the same ILVL pvp gear is better in pvp than pve gear. The trouble is PVP gear ILVL is hard capped by what bracket you can make it into and ATM in RBGS at between 1.6-1.8k your average pvp player is probs like 205 ilvl and your average PVE player is easily 215.

When you add that a bunch of Mythic raiding guilds are just meme stomping that bracket atm to climb for BiS stuff itā€™s making the experience crap, therefore I think itā€™s perfectly justified to actually downscale PVE gear in PVP, because on average in most brackets PVE players WILL have higher ILVL and the stat gain just outweighs the vers bonus, I say this as someone with like 25% vers.

I agree with you.

For example ww monk and tanks have versa as a good stat.

I really wish we have conquets items hard capped at 200 ilvl so everybody will be on par in few months. And pve ilvl downscaled to 200 in pvp. Or just copy wod or mop systems

Yeah thatā€™d work too. However the mention of scaling sends most people into a blood-rage.

you canā€™t even lose rating below 1400?

You can. You donā€™t lose rating if your MMR is substantially higher than your CR (but you lose a ton of MMR), thatā€™s the condition. But people that lose a lot of games between 0 and 1200 rating will have their MMR practically equal to their 1200 CR, which means they lose -15 when matched against another 1200 team and losing that game.

Guess you have to try to lose rating at that point :man_shrugging:

Low geared characters at 1200 rating face overgeared pvers that are bad at pvp, and yet still play an uphill battle because poping cds and 1shotting undergeared chars is a thing.

The only sensible thing to do honestly. Thereā€™s no way Blizzard can ever balance PvP with PvE trinkets being a factor, or the fact that so many good items for some classes come from PvP, even for PvE.

One shouldnā€™t have to participate in PvE if they donā€™t want to, and vice versa. BfA was a massive culprit in this for PvP players.

:man_shrugging:

The few times Iā€™ve actually participated in arena Iā€™ve not lost rating, despite playing at an abyssmal win rate.

I looked at your char, you have over 50% win rate. Undergeared chars usually have lower.

This isnā€™t the only time Iā€™ve participated in arena. In BfA I was doing arenas for Conflict and Strife, up to 1800 rating and then stopped. Had some low 38% win rate, played Brewmaster and ret pala I think?

Up until 1400 rating I didnā€™t lose a single point despite losing over half the games.

Did you have 1200 mmr? If not, then you more likely skipped the low part. Also, in BfA in the last season rating was hyperinflated to the point you had people who previously never got to 1.9k getting 2.4k.

Either way, even if you donā€™t lose rating under 1400 it doesnā€™t mean others do not. I didnā€™t lose rating till 2500 in rbg this season, do you think itā€™s reasonable to conclude that nobody does? If not, what point are you actually trying to make?

They donā€™t, the person OP uses as an example is proof of that.

Unless you think 70%+ Win rate at 3k CR is not competitive, that is.
