PVP gearing

I just caught up on pve stuff and i started to do non rated pvp to grind out the base gear. its very miserable, not fun and i cant see why pvp is falling off a cliff.

Just went into epic wintergrasp and its just a disaster. Is there any fixing pvp now?

No, you suffer trough the first bg’s till you get enough honor to buy a full set of pvp gear.

What do you feel is broken?

Wintergrasp and IoC are good for undergeared players, because you can drive vehicles/turrets and your gear or lack of does not affect those.

You can also get the full green set just by farming Warcrates + do the PvP dailies that award bloodycoins/blue gear + Sparks of War. That way you don’t enter a BG until you are on the same level as everyone else.

You could buy some cheap algari competitor gear on the AH before you have a full set of honor gear. World PvP gear is also useful. Look out for WQs that award it and spend your bloody coins.

You can contact me on the btag I wrote down in your other thread. I can help you win more.

You can get 3 pieces of gear with embellishments. (2) Which does help.

Also it’s a good thing you can transfer honor over as well. The 20% honor loss is a bummer, as I think it should be at least 10%. But it’s not too bad to get gear, it’s just expensive.

OP, are you sure you’re not complaining without first attempting to think things through ?
Have you tried forming a strategy about how to gear up properly or are you just doing things by automation ?
Let me enlighten you:
You can get 2450 Bloody Token total by doing almost no PvP at all by taking the quest in Dornagal which gives you already 1 000 of them, and you can complete it by picking up treasures of those wax piles on the ground.
Once you do that you can focus on getting some of the boxes that fall from the sky, and completing the other World PvP quests in the zones. Sometimes they give up to 550 Bloody Tokens each.
Simple quests in the area where the Dornagal quest is usually gives 50 bloody tokens uppon completion too.
Anyway- with them bloody tokens you already can buy 4x (hands, wrist, waist, back).
Uppon completion of your first battleground win you get 9x conquest tokens for crafted gear which is already 3 more items (necklace and 2 rings).
Once you’ve done this you can just farm the rest as honor gear and honor farming also has its tricks:
Make sure you got the Dornagal PvP quests from Rufius or whatever his name was.
Make sure you got a Honor Flask up (15% more honor gains).
Make sure you’re outside of the city and WM:ON so you can grab the drops while you wait for que.
If you’re on horde/alliance server and theres too much conflict for the drops and you feel like you can never get a hold of them- > go to the dragonflight zones and learn their rotation. You can loot up to 2-3 boxes in one go and each gives 150 honor + 60 conquest.
Ashran: Ashran, has you to collect 50 artifact fragments, something you can do in 2 minutes into the battleground, and while you’re at it you can also sneak into the enemy base (from the side via parachute/glider) and kill 2 of the 3 patrolling guards , who will drop you 2 keys, you need to now go from the backside of the base and sneak into the prison, theres one more guard who you gonna kill and hes gonna give you 1 more key, with this key you free the 2 prisoners who are already in the same room and 1 that is outside of the building. Each will give you 150 honor.
If you happen to kill the boss you also have a quest that gives you 250 conquest.
So, so far 1500~ honor without you even wining the battleground.
Wintersgrasp also has a similar quest that requires of you killing 10 guards and yields 250 conquest.
and another one that gives you 1 000 honor if you win.

I advice you to avoid AV if you got no quest for Drek and you see you will not win.
IOC is garbage for honor/conquest farm too.
If you happen to leave → you can always farm drops from the zones or que skirmish (first win of the day is worth it - 200~honor + 30 conquest)
Brawls also give you a quest automatically when you enter them which give bonus conquest and honor.

So in retrospect:
30 mins for world pvp quests.
30 mins for 1 battleground win.
30- 1h in Epic Battlegrounds
5 mins for Skirmish.
All of this will get you almost fully geared for rated PvP.
I also wonna mention that you get FREE weapons once you get the achievement for 2 500 conquest points earned.
So all you need to do is get gloves from bloody tokens and shoulders from conquest and run them through the Catalyst and you got your set bonus too.

At what time during WoWs history could you gear up so much for a few hours?
I remember during wrath I had to spend an entire day to get just 1 piece of honor gear.

Is gearing hard ? no.
is OP overdramatic ? yes.

Just buy full 651 PvP gear on auction house, cost you 10-20k gold, it will help a ton , it’s called Algari

When i came back imto WoW this expansion, I had ilvl 613 when i dived into PvP again, took me like one or two days at max to grind enough honor to get full pvp set for my Warrior and Paladin. BGs are doable even with sh*tty gear, Arenas not really. And don’t forget about gaining marks of honor… awesome sets for transmog!

You will " help " him and make others like him miserable with your premades.

Tell me which part about inviting 1-2 players and directing a random team with instructions is unfair or makes anyone miserable?

Personally i just find wow’s pvp extremely unfun if you do not start it immediately when the expansion hits the whole gearing process is the most unfun crap there is even more so than buying games like ET the game getting home and finding out you have bought a gigantic pile of dog ****.

Do WQs with WM on.

You can get 4100 bloodycoins to get some stuff.
AH is an answer to complete it.
Chests falling from the sky too.

It’s SO easy to get a decent stuff nowadays.

For people who know the optimal way to gear it’s pretty fast. Especially if you’re gearing an alt and you have a main already that can help with some honor transfer.

It really is not a fun for anyone new to it though. No matter what you queue it’ll be a terrible experience where you’re getting stomped while grinding your honor and subsequently your conquest.
That’s on top of trying to learn your class, so it is extra punishing. Unfortunately this part is a problem with all games that have been around for awhile, playerbase is old and sweaty.
