As the might of the Nerubian kingdom of Azj-Kahet falters, their queen must decide on the choices she’s willing to make to ensure her people’s survival. Watch it all unfold in our video.
It will great to see a new zone like Suramar City with the same quality.
Xal’atath is glorious in this. Her giddy gaze conveys so much emotion. Excellent work as always!
Where’s the Arachnophobia version, them’s spider folk!
That was terrible, as usual.
That was awseome, as usual.
The duality of man.
Cinematic was really good, not amazing, but very well done.
A little bit on the “I’ve seen this a thousand times before” end, but I’ve never seen it with crazy spider queens.
Also, Xal’Atath’s art direction and personality continues to impress. She is terrifying in the best possible way. Exquisitely written.
8/10.
I liked the animated short (although it became quite obvious to me that the daughter would off her mother when she asked who she’s speaking to).
I really hope the one about Faerin Lothar (our one-armed Paladin) does highlight following points:
- How she lost her arm
- Why she has the surname Lothar
- How she mastered fighting with her disability (or better said, how she did grow as a character due to that flaw)
- Why she is a (low-rank) leader among the Arathi.
I really hope Blizzard puts a lot of depth into this character, especially universal depth, so that more than just one part of the player audience can identify with this character.
As I said before in another post, I want this character to be good. I want the game to be good (again). And so far, it seems it will be. Don’t fail me here, Blizzard.
I am still on managing my anger because of Pete Parsons ruining Bungie and killing off Destiny 2 essentially.
Exactly watching things like this make you want to play the game!
This was so awesome. But feel sorry for this mother…
But cant wait see her spider-soldiers as “human body” model in game.
Since look good.

I already can see people asking for them to become an allied race.
Imagine those in Goldshire on RP realms… That’s a mental image I don’t need.
I docked a point off for this. But it is, if nothing else, a potential way to bring about playable Nerubians, even if I think it’s a pretty cut down and lame version of them.
Okay, I have thoughts.
- The animation looks great. I think it feels like a return to form after ‘Legacies’.
- The characters are kind of bland. It’s not like watching Jaina reclaim her father’s ship or Queen Azshara be transformed by N’Zoth. These guys are all so new, still, it’s hard for me to get hyped up about seeing them. We had this same problem with each animated video after Afterlives: Uther, so it’s not a new thing. But still, I wish they’d utilise their existing cast of characters more, otherwise it eventually stops feeling like Warcraft.
- I think it feels a bit jarring to see Queen Neferess and Ansurek addressing each other like they’re just regular humans, down to their very normal accent and mannerisms. They don’t really feel like bug-people living below ground for thousands of years. It’s a minor gripe, but how did they learn “human” behaviour if they haven’t really intermingled with humans? I wish they had their own thing going on a bit more.
- It remains to be seen whether there are more videos coming, but Blizzard hasn’t really said as much, have they? It feels like they’re treating this video specifically like “Threads of Destiny,” and that there aren’t more episodes coming. I’m hoping I’m wrong, though.
- The plot itself is kind of a rehash from Queen Azshara and N’Zoth. That’s probably intentional, because it’s what the Old Gods do. They manipulate powerful beings and conscript them into servitude. But it’s not the most mindblowing piece of narrative to watch, only a few years after the excellent Warbringers: Azshara video.
All the animated shorts of that style have such “imposing names”. Wasn’t Jainas for BfA called “Daughter of the Sea”?
It was called Warbringers: Jaine, but the song she sang was called Daughter of the Sea IIRC. Basically all of them so far have had names with the name of the series first, followed by the episode later, for example Lords of War Part Five - Maraad, or Harbingers - Khadgar. Which is why I’m a little worried about this one.
Pixels on screen must be least of your concerns, I see spidies as big as an average human hand daily… and yeah I have a kind of arachnaphobia as well but one must endure and adapt to live
Xal looks good, other than that it is diversity and muh queen version of Arthas’ story, kill the parent for power, better than a power of friendship story, won’t say no.
Power of one, power of two, power of mAAAnnnY

I actually really liked it… Kinda excited about the story… will there be books about the upcoming storys ?
Ah yes, now I remember.
Well, Perhaps each faction has its own “motto”?
Like, the Nerubians have “Threads of Fate”
The Earthen could have “Song of the Deep” perhaps (or similar)
And the Arathi perhapse “False Faith” perhaps (or similar)
Each of them could have a “conflict” theme fitting for their race.
Mind explaining where you see “diversity” in that? Because I, as a strong critic for badly executed diversity in games, see none at all in the character.
