PVP - starter

Hey Guys,

i just wanted to ask question - i guess i will get trolled a lot but, i never done serious pvp, more like causal with friends mostly battlegrounds for fun.

and i just realised i would like to push my self more, so i would like to try to get into rated. firstly i want to ask because i guess first thing first i need high end pvp gear for that no ?

so what what would be after that, that i need to get ?

any tips/advice you guys can give ? i never had chance to get vicious saddle so i would like to finally get mount i really dream of and delude my self i have chance on getting.

To become competititive in anything rated you need to obtain the purple pvp gear, probably the tier set, and research what enchantments, gems, etc you need.
The catch 22 is that you need to earn conquest points to buy the gear and these are normally gained through rated content.
Look at the quests etc which award conquest points for non rated, but basically get into solo or Blitz or whatever and get kitted in full purple. There are lots of guides for each spec online about rotation, gearing, tactics etc. Conquest is not that hard right now as it’s not capped.
Once you have full purple/tier set etc you’re done other than you can add a few gems by grinding vicious bloodstones.

Go to the website “Murlok…io” to look up what the best competitive (R1) players are running. You can see their build, what talents they run, which enchantments and gear upgrades they use etc, everything.
Try to copy it.

You can use the crafting tokens you get for your first win this season via a quest to get up to 2 crafted PvP items of the highest quality.
For the rest of your gear, you will need conquest.

First get around 10k honor and buy honor gear for every slot.
Then play rated PvP. 3v3 Arena is the most efficient way to farm conquest.
Open LFG and tell everyone you are looking for a 3v3 group on low rating to farm conquest, invite players who want to join, preferably with high gear.

Play a few rounds. You will probably lose more than you win as a beginner, but even if you can manage to win 30% of your games, you will earn a lot of conquest.

Don’t play casual PvP like random bgs to get conquest. It is not efficient at all. Play rated arenas, 2s and 3s after you have your honor gear.

If you need help and advice, feel free to leave your btag and I will contact you.
You can also message me.

thank you both of you !

You can farm Warcrates and do WPvP dailies for Bloody Coins. Bloody coins provide elite PvP gear that is only 3 ilvls behind Conquest gear can be turned into set items via the catalyst thing in Dornogal. There is an addon to track Warcrates, they provide Conquest as well and spawn every 20 or so minutes (per zone, which means you will just keep flying around zones).

This is an alternative route to losing your way to full Conquest gear in Arena. Because the season is nearing its end, having full honor gear will mean most people outgear you.

Also, you cannot buy weapons with Conquest from the start, you get them for free once you reach 2500 conquest earned per season.

That’s the best way to go, the Bloody Coins weekly will give you 1000 coins and you get the dailies and also 100 coins for most other dailies I found. I started the weekly on a Tuesday just before the reset, then after the rest which gives a super quick 2000 coins, more than enough to purchase the weapon. Didn’t take long at all to get geared enough for BGBs.

I have tried to find it with no luck , could you please let me know what addon is that ? It will be useful for the next restart.

What information was provided from the guys here is perfectly fine , i would add one more , you need some specific addons in order to help you get better like gladius /sarena , omnibar and big debuffs . Those are generally accepted as the most important but it would also provide a lot of information that you ,eventually want to know how to customise and learn how to read those information and try simplify the addons so you get what info are needed but not having too much clutter on your screen.
Generally you need to know as many things as you can absorb so you know how to maximize your effectiveness.
Gearwise you got your answers from the other guys , Honor/bloody tokens are super early on, also have in mind that at some point you will get your conquest weapons for free (when you reach 2500 conquest you get 2 tokens that you will exchange in order to get your conquest weapon so don’t spend conquest points there at least not at the beginning)
Good luck in your pvp journey

The addon is called Warcrate Tracker. What it does is it records when you saw a warcrate in a zone and puts a timer to it. It will start warning you when in advance when it is time for a Warcrate to spawn.

It isn’t 100% accurate, sometimes there is a delay in the spawn, so best to go to a zone in advance. The addon also says it takes info from other players regarding crates spotted (not just your own data), but this doesn’t work for me.

The crate sequence resets daily, but once you know the sequence for the day, you can just fly around zones. Though sometimes the crates spawn shortly after eachother and it is impossible to get all zones.
