Edit: I guess i don’t remember the old expans titles properly, I did more research and I guess they were always temporary expect rank 1. I guess I really remembered things different and not correct. So ignore the following.
Do you think having Combatant to Glad titles temporary encourages you to keep going for them again and again because they are removed? I’m not sure why but I felt okay ‘ish’ with it in Legion when you got to keep that title for a whole season, although I’d prefer them to be permanent. But now they don’t last as long, maybe half the season or a few weeks at that and that feels going too far with it. I thought having them temporary would encourage me to grind them again but instead had the opposite effect on me and knowing I’m having to grind the same thing over and over again and never be able to keep it has put me off going for them. It’s not like getting the elite mog, the 100 arena win mount, glad mount or pvp enchat, those you got to keep forever after. And lets face it I will never get rank 1.
Just wondered for the past 10 years before they made these titles temporary what kept you people who got duelist or glad every season to continue going for rewards? Do you feel having these titles made temporary has encouraged you to play more arena to win the titles back every season?
No they haven’t. They did it in Legion when they made it so you had to earn the title back in a season and whatever title you earned in the previous season you got to keep for the whole duration of the next season. But before that titles were permanent. I had duelist on my druid since mop and in wod without playing that druid for 2 seasons.
Is this true? Am I just thinking of Gladiator title that wasn’t temporary back then? Why do I remember having duelist for so long? I can’t remember properly now.

the only title that’s not temporary is rank 1. everything else lasted the entire season after you earned it. the only thing that was changed is that you earn your title during the season now and have it until the end of the season
You think it last for ever before legion because in legion arena season was 15-19 week, in wod arena season was 29 week ( season 1 ) 20 week season 2 and 35 week season 3. The season was just longer, that is. But title have always be temporary. If title last for ever, people will just get gladiator one time and stop do arena. Except some people that love doing arena and don’t care about title.
Edit : was wrong the longer season in legion was 17 week and shorter 11 week.
so 11-17 week for legion, 20-35 week for wod.
Only titles whcih arent temp from what i understand is RBG titles & the top 0. w/e it is % of 3 vs 3 ladder. oh and achivements form pvp content like gorgeous etc.
Before bis the title lastet the whole season after U got gladiator or duelist since bfa when u hit it it last for the season u got it.
