Why is it that when you upgrade from ‘Unchained Aspirant’s Sigil Of Adaptation’ with a cooldown of 1min
to the ‘Unchained Gladiator’s Medallion’ with a 2min cooldown? Seems odd, especially when you can upgrade the weaker one to almost the same stats but half the cooldown.
Automatically triggered by any CC with a duration above a threshold.
Manually triggered (by you).
These are two completely different trinkets and it’s easy to see why the Medallion is a much better choice in most cases.
Adaptation is very bad when there are classes with spammable CCs that may trigger it (cyclone, polymorph, …). All they have to do is trigger it with a dummy polymorph and then stun you and you’re dead. With the Medallion, you have the choice on what is threatening enough for you to remove it.
Adaptation may be a good choice against classes with CC that has relatively long cooldowns. Hunters, paladins etc, such that you get most value out of it.
You may not wear medallion and adaptation simultaneously, of course.
BTW: The “upgraded” version of the Aspirant’s adaptation is called Unchained Gladiator’s Sigil of Adaptation. You get it with conquest points like the medallion.
