That’s pretty much all I want. I do random unrated PvP > earn “something” > spend said something at a vendor > do more PvP. Not looking for BiS, just something to keep me atleast somewhat able to hold my own.
WoD and prior did this just fine, so I’m hoping we’ll just go back to how that worked. Hell, I’d pick what we have now over a “only rated” system if that’s the case

You compare PvP with PvE all the time which doesn’t makes sense. PvE is about progression when PvP IS NOT.
PvP is about Skill and Skill Progression. Not Item Level progression.
Finding friends and Guild to run Mythic Raids for Mythic Gear that’s all PvE is about, not PvP.
PvP shouldn’t be Pew Pew Best ilvl wins neither I find the best guys on Arena and best classes to grind Arena. PvP you Queue and you go.
As I said you didn’t play WoD probably, so you don’t know anything about PvP Vendors. You are only falsely assuming things.

I agree with the sentiment, I think there is definently exceptions but particularly when it comes to group content it’s just logic that teamwork and cooperation do best here.
Imagine content where a single player and a bunch of bots whooped an equal number of players (actually I always thought it would be cool if a player could control a raid boss lol), it wouldn’t really make sense, particularly in content that is not designed that way like BGs/Arena/Epics, heck in wpvp a solo player can nearly be a god… nearly

Every pro player ever done M+0 first before going to PvP, Ask 100% PVP player like Pikaboo and else how they started BFA = M0 → Ranked PvP. New season = Ranked PvP.
And when they need a trinked in PvE they got the gear PvP on them to do PvE .
Some people like pokemon in WoW, why can’t they got M+ 15 gear or Gladiator gear ?

No wonder why PvP have reached this abysmal level today. When people like you are playing and supporting the current system it is obvious that everything will go wrong. It’s okay guys don’t worry. It’s not about if you can, or if you cannot. Everyone can, and if he cannot he can find a Guild to boost him or pay some Gold and get boosted again.
I can do it, you can do it, everyone can do it.

Especially when before (in other Expansions) it wasn’t like this. They just did an unnecessary false change which they have to revert in the upcoming expansion as it was an experiment that failed.

Mate you got only 10 k honorable kill , in Warlord of Draenor it’s done in 3 day, don’t proclaim yourself playing as PvP player in that time you didn’t. Since you Proclaim being a PvPer in Casual PvP ( Random BG ) in warlord with only 10 k you just doing tourism at that time.
And when we speak about gearing in ranked system how hard is to join a team you only joined maybe 1 game for only 1 win. That not what we call even try.
So I played WoD , Played in Casual BG and i know what i’m speaking of in that time. Stop bulling people for proclaiming yourself when you are a liar when you speak about experience you didn’t tryed.

According to Ion Hazzikostas there will be honor and conquest vendors in Shadowlands, so there is a way of getting gear through casual/unranked play.
he said that in a recent Q&A (found on the second site of MMO-champion)
my only worry now is if the gear will have a PvP only stat on it because if not it’s basically mythic+ grind all over for everyone who want’s to stay competitive gear wise.

I am not a PvPer but why should players who are not top PvPers get the top PvP gear? In PvE it is the top PvEers that get the best gear, now that WF/TF is going away.
There is a PvP vendor in SL so your entire premise that it is a lie is wrong. There is a vendor it is just going to take a bit more effort in order to access it.
For people who don’t know how worked PvP vendor in Warlord :
You got the blue gear , obtainable by honor currency ( you could get honor just by being a part of a killing blow, it mean even if you just spend 1 aoe or 1 buff when ennemie die you got honor. if you were monk MW for example you could jade statut and the statut of jade auto healed people and so you could afk and still getting honor.°
You got the Purple gear : it was supposed to be the high gear for PvPer , but was the casual gear for everyone since it was obtanable in Ashran with some quest and " World quest" ( wasn’t named like that but that was called “events” ) and killing PvE mobs and you got the PvP gear in Purple, the best for PvP.
That why i’m explaining that the gear was obtanable while AFK and watching. And being boosted by the team doing all the jobs for you.
ANd that why i’m for the systems of Shadowland : Making effort and learning skill = Getting gear
but what if i suck and he doesnt want to play with me anymore after a couple of games?
what if i want to queue when hes not online?
what if i dont want to play with someone at all and just queue for ranked pvp on my own?
i mean, yeah, finding someone who wants to queue as well gives me accessibility but you arent granted access per se when you re alone. so its only semi accessible.
