QoL Suggestion – Account-Wide Flight Path Unlock or “Flypath Tome”

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share the absolute agony of re-unlocking every single flight path in WoW Classic: Season of Discovery—again and again on each alt. It’s a grind that feels like an endless marathon through the same old zones, just to tick off another icon on the map. By the time you’ve manually grabbed every fp on your main, you’ve already traversed the Barrens, blasted through Hinterlands, and slogged your way through every hub at least twice. Then your alts? Rinse and repeat. It’s time-consuming, it’s repetitive, and frankly it takes time away from the fun parts of the game.

The Pain of the Grind

  • Zone Tour Déjà Vu: You’ve run from Ratchet to Booty Bay so many times you could navigate with your eyes closed.
  • Wasted Time: Hours of travel for each alt, when you could be questing, raiding, or exploring Season-only content.
  • Social Disconnect: Your friends are already flying for you—your alts are stuck on foot.

My QoL Proposal
Can we please have a “Flypath Tome” or similar account-wide unlock token? Here’s how it could work:

  1. Single Purchase on Main: Once you manually unlock every fp on one character (your main), you unlock a recipe/book in your inventory.
  2. Bind to Account: The Flypath Tome can be mailed to any alt on your account.
  3. One-Time Use Per Alt: Opening the tome on an alt grants all previously discovered flight paths automatically—no more zone-hopping grind.
  4. Cost Consideration: Perhaps a modest gold fee or token cost (e.g., 50 g or a rare currency) to balance the convenience.

This change would preserve the initial sense of discovery—everyone still has to run their main through the wilds—but spare every subsequent character from the identical, soul-crushing grind. It’s a small QoL tweak that would make leveling alts in SoD vastly more enjoyable.

Thanks for considering, and hope to see this in a future patch!

Im curious, what do you think is fun at 60? I think you would have more fun playing retail wow, the lvling is fast, gear thrown at you, ready to raid the moment you hit max lvl.

Im not sure i agree with how “bad” leveling is.

I wouldn’t call leveling in SoD riveting especially after they sped it up. You don’t also explore that much of the world since all you need to do is hit Level 26-27 to start doing incursions. And they take you very far. Together with a friend we went from level 38-ish to 60 in less than 24h just through Incursions in Ashenvale, Feralas, Hinterlands and them Blackrock Dailies mixed with WPL questing.

Season of Discovery (SoD) strikes a balance between nostalgia for the original Classic experience and innovative gameplay, offering new runic abilities, phased content, and world events that refresh familiar zones. Unlike pure Classic, SoD isn’t just about reliving old memories—it’s about exploring fresh class customizations and community-driven features. This dual appeal is akin to why players revisit Wrath of the Lich King (for its refined progression and endgame) or stick with Retail WoW (for its smooth systems and continual updates).
