Queen Azshara and her magic

Hello everyone! It’s been a long time since I last posted on these forums! The change is quite weird but aesthetically pleasing!
I would be very grateful if you could aid me and give me some advice regarding a matter that os related to my main character, Marivella, a void elf mage. Like with all my characters, I write their stories for myself as I enjoy the game better that way and Marivella is basically a mage who followed Queen Azshara’s footsteps both in the arcane arts and later studying the void as well.
As such, she is a very proficient mage who wields the arcane extremely well. Yet I made her a frost mage. I did this as I thought Queen Azshara’s fight would involve her using a lot of water and ice spells but she mainly uses raw arcane, although she summons tidal waves and infuses her champions with the “power of frost and storm” which leaves me in a bit of a dilema.

Do you think I should change the spec to arcane or should I stick to frost? Do you think Queen azshara is a mix between arcane mage and hydromancer (very close to frost mage)?
I really wish for my character to be similar to Azshara as that defines much of her past.

Thank you a lot for your time and kindness! :slight_smile:

Queen Azshara is powerful with the Arcane Magic.

Her powers over the water come with years of expertise, but her skills with it didn’t start out as such. She used Sharas’dal to command the waters. It was a combination of Arcane Magic, infused to control the waters.

This can help explain her conflict with Neptulon.

Well, the Naga as a whole, use a lot of water magic and arcane magic. Queen Azshara is a very powerful arcane mage.
They seem to use both Frost and Arcane spells, so if you want your mage to follow in Azshara’s footsteps, then either spec can work.

Personally, it really depends on which area of her story you want to look closely at.

If you want to look at her pre-sundering life, then I’d strongly recommend you look at the arcane spec, whereas her after-sundering life can attribute to many things, such as wielding water, frost and void magic.

Personally, I’d go for the latter. It opens up far more interesting opportunities.

You should notice that Azshara should be familliar with fel magic too.

Queen Azshara is the most powerful Mage on Azeroth currently.
She used arcane spells in the old RPG, with a single spell she created an arcane torrent so violent and powerful it killed more than half of the Kaldorei resistance forcing Malfurion and Tyrande to devise an ambush to stop her.
During her duel with Malfurion she kept him at bay by channeling the Arcane one again,Malfurion gave her a rough time because she was dealing with nature magic, at that time it was something alien to her, the same way Xavius was overwhelmed.
She uses water related spells used her staff as Leia explained, she even manipulated the fel when she was contacted by Sargeras.
Currently we don’t have a clear view on how much she can use the void but it is safe to say she can manipulate well after 10k years and the tutelage of Nzoth.
I would say Arcane>Water>>Void>>>Fel.

Azshara is the most powerfull spellcaster of azeroth ever born from the mortal races.

Arcane >> Void >> Water >> Fel

(Azshara used not watermagic like shamans…maybe like darkshamans or…like frostmages frost)
