Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

I don’t get the Windrunner hate.

Aleria wasn’t here till legion but I have to say I don’t like the whole viod elves thing.

Veressa has done nothing or atleast nothing I have seen except sitting in dalaran.

And sylvanas was an alright character until they decided to butcher her character but that is all part of that smelly bag of sl lore that we should just redcon as a bad dream

No it doesn’t. Neither void elves nor night elves have any claim or hand in living in Silvemroon. Otherwise I demand you hand over Bel’ameth and Hyjal to the Horde right about now.

They did the nelf zone in DF.

Like Sylvanas said, “The Horde is nothing”. That’s precisely how it has been since 2004.

Just like the Alliance is Humans and the irrelevants. Everything that isn’t Human is just…there…with the Alliance.

The game always has been - the Horde vs Humans. Humans only matter with the Alliance. Elves don’t. The Horde is multi-racial and has always been better at showcasing that. You could remove the Alliance and no serious impacts would be felt because Horde is just better.

Again - Alliance are just Humans and the others. Nelfs are good at pumpkin growing for Human overlords.

True words. And very, very old ones. As they date all the way back to 2012 when MoP was running. Horde side was spearheaded by Vol’jin, Baine and Lor’themar. A Troll, Tauren and a Blood Elf.

While the Alliance side was Varian, Anduin and Jaina. Three Humans. People all the way back then 13 years ago were pointing that out, complaining that Alliance side of the story is more boring because of it. And still here are.

As for the playable High Elves. One really has to have a mount everest of copium to believe that Quel’dorei still will be added as a separate race.

Pale skinned Void Elves are playable High Elves, just like Red skinned Draenei are Man’ari Eredar. Both are reduced to mere customization option with one difference being that at least in case of Draenei we had to do a short questline and sort of “earn” it.

While Void Elves just got flat out copy paste Blood Elf options. And I cannot stress enough how weird thing it is in case of the Draenei. Man’ari should have been a separate race just like Lightforged are.

As they differ from Draenei so much more than High Elves do from Blood Elves which are basically the same race, with one key difference is that Blood Elves named themselves as such in honor to their slain people. While High Elves have no people to honor at all.

Blizzard is now going a complete EZ mode right now. Not even bothering to introduce proper Allied Races anymore.

Another argument moving against playable High Elves as a separate race is the introduction of Arathi people. This serves as a sort of statement of how Thalassian Elves have changed.

In the past, Quel’dorei and Humans of Arathor worked so close together that they eventually spawned an entire bastard nation out of their union. A nation where every Arathi is to some degree of human-elven origin. A full hybridization of the people.

Most of them display primarly human features with pointy ears. While a few have predominantly elven look with short ears. And they do not consider themselves as neither Humans nor Elves. They call themselves Arathi.

Now they and destroyed Dalaran serve as a testament and a legacy of what once was. A monument of Human-Elf combined efforts. Something that will not happen ever again.

Dalaran is no more. City that was the embodiment of gift of magic that Elves bestowed upon Humans, and a symbol of their enduring Alliance.

Now Citizens of Quel’thalas are taking hard turn toward their own Elvenkind. Through union with Suramar and alliance with Court of Farondis, the Blood Elves are capitalizing on Dalaran’s destruction by replacing this once great place of learning with even a greater one.

Sin’dorei, Shal’dorei and Court of Farondis have joined in effort to restore the Academy of Nar’thalas. To turn it onto a Supreme School of Magic that will make Dalaran look like a mere Kindergarden.

The Academy will become a school of Arcane knowledge and research on the nature of the curse that torments Farondis and his people. Should it ever be lifted, the Blood Elves will receive an even greater boost.

This is a historical moment. Shal’dorei have completely replaced Humans in hearts of Thalassian Elves. And instead of a second Dalaran we will have a fully restored ancient Elven School of Magic.

The few remaining Quel’dorei will either serve as a genetical template to make more “Arathi” with Humans just as Elisande envisioned for them. Or they will turn to the void and become Ren’dorei.

Where as in the case of the Blood Elves we might expect some hybrids showing up among them as well. But this time due to efforts with the Nightborne. Only 50% Sin’dorei sure. But at least still 100% Elves.

WoW, such beauty! Really can not wait for the midnight.

Checked they have more pictures released, so nice.

That looks actually nice.

And look it’s a completely new thing. It’s possible to get you high elve fix without taking away from other races

That is what I’ve been saying about what will make High Elves playable. They simply cannot have anything to do with the Blood Elves. They’ve got to be totally on their own, like every other core and allied race.

This concept is what I’ve been saying for months but Moontear and Shakim didn’t want to listen. Well, I’ll take their apologies now and move on.

This is fanmade.

Fanmade or not - the concept is what I’ve been screaming about for months.

The High Elves, in this concept, are their own thing. They have their own city, own society, own rules, own laws…that is what they need. Indeed, with this concept, the Nightborne could find some common ground with an Alliance race since both this Quel’dorei society concept and current Nightborne society shun the use of fel and warlock-based magic.
High Elf fans need to know that they can’t have the Blood Elf things, like Silvermoon or Eversong or Quel’Thalas.

For High Elf fans to expect that Silvermoon must change, for what is, a race that is a minority in the general Thalassian populace, is ridiculous. If they did that, all Thalassians become Blood Elves at the start and they are absorbed into Blood Elf culture.
High Elf fans wouldn’t want that…but some people can’t see the wood through the trees.

This concept is exactly what the High Elves need. Personally, I’d prefer more of a mix between ancient Highborne and current High Elf, just to unify the Quel’dorei under the Alliance banner, but I’ll take this concept

Wow, it’s like you took belfs and painted them blue.

See here’s the problem. You had Crymoon here weeping in your ear that you are starting to buy into this crap. Look at those pictures. It’s belfs painted blue, nothing else. We don’t need that just because Crymoon can’t deal with the fact that the Belfs went Horde or that the Velfs were Blizzard’s response to his crying.

They would bring nothing to the game.
