Again though - that’s them using feelings over facts and that’s just not how I roll.
Nightborne are Horde and that’s that. Thalyssra and Lor’themar are husband and wife and that’s that. Silvermoon and Suramar are joined by hand of marriage and that’s that.
Playable High Elves can still happen regardless of the above and High Elf fans need to stop feeling so scared about the above. Stop being morons and deliberately lying about something that has no impact on whether the High Elves are playable or not.
I’ve gone through a step-by-step on how they can be playable and have it meaningful to them as their own race. Notice how I only mention Blood Elves once with them being removed from Crystalsong and nothing more. Why? Because High Elves can and should exist without leeching off Blood Elves and Humans.
If you want High Elves in Quel’Thalas and Silvermoon then all your going to get is what we have now. High Elves not being a playable race…just an identity absorbed into Blood Elves and Void Elves.
Nightborne playing a role in Midnight has nothing to do with playable High Elves. It’s just the wife of Silvermoon’s leader is coming to help her husband and his people and she will likely bring a large group of Nightborne Arcanists and Mages with her.
Playable High Elves won’t happen then. They’ll just be an identity…a feature…absorbed into Blood Elves and Void Elves.
Only my ideas will get us playable High Elves and that’s the gospel and brutal truth. I won’t satisfy you with lies and delusions because I don’t roll like that. Your going to get harsh truths and the harsh truth is:
High Elves MUST work around the already playable, Blood Elves and Void Elves. I know how it can be done because…it can still be done. You obviously, don’t because your not a real High Elf supporter.
Yeah but that is honestly also where the hospitality ends
If they’re not on their way to the sunwell, they’re just alliance on horde territory
Now what being alliance on horde territory means also depends on what timeframe you’re talking about considering we’ve gone from war to peace to war to peace and then there’s also the tensions between high elves and blood elves seperate of faction drama.
I’ve said this before a lot of times as well and I’m suprised so few people are actually seeing what you and me and some others who are saying; unification of elven tribes = consolidation so that there’s less “tribes” to write lore for and I can promise you now, the actual playable races that are already coded into the game are not going to be the ones that walk away as the losers of this expansion.
Exactly! Blood Elves and Void Elves aren’t going anywhere…especially not in favour of a race that isn’t directly playable.
Playable High Elves can still work where Blood Elves and Void Elves aren’t even involved (minus the idea of the Blood Elves leaving Crystalsong and the High Elves making that, their home…), but then we’ve got the unused area of QT and we know…other forms of…media, have made use of that area for High Elves.
There’s so much that can be done…and I don’t get the obsession over having what Blood Elves have in everything…it makes no sense and is counter-active to the real High Elf cause.
Make no mistake, I am a High Elf supporter and would like them to be playable…but not at the expense of other races, namely Blood Elves and Humans. I want (and know) the High Elves can be fully independent after Midnight and make their own nation as an allied race to the Alliance. It can be done…the lore is there…
Why High Elf fans are so scared of Nightborne being involved in Midnight or Silvermoon and Suramar being joined by marriage is beyond me because, I don’t know what that has to do with playable High Elves. The two / three things are separate from the High Elf cause.
EDIT:
Honestly Sylvare - I do think the radical High Elf fans are so insular that they believe their own headcanons. So - if one of them states “Oh yes, Blood Elves will be removed from QT and it will go to the High Elves and be an Alliance nation. Blood Elves…well, nobody should care about them” - I honestly think they believe their own lies and their own ideas that haven’t even been announced by Blizzard.
This is a problem that has grown in the High Elf community and even if I’m just one voice which might be the sound of reason, then I’ll be the sole voice that is the sound of reason.
I already liked the post before I read the edit, honestly whatever happens, I imagine Midnight reveal will cause a bit of an uproar on this specific topic regardless of what they’re going to do.
I mean I commend you for your positive outlook but I am not convinced that unification isn’t just a prettier way to say consolidation
Without a doubt it’ll be a neighbourhood zone eventually yes, probably during midnight if its not one of the opening ones
The blood elves have already shared their customizations (skin and hair colors) for the void elves.
This scenario could be repeated (sharing hairstyles, for example) for the Midnight expansion.
I’m always up for more customization options, I’ve always wanted devoided void elf haircuts for belves
I just don’t think its realistic to expect the outcome of this is the existing races will become one and neutral, they have to stay seperate races unless they plan to overhaul how racials work and if they have to stay seperate making both neutral doesn’t make sense, cause the quel’thalas elf model is available on both sides already.
And let’s be honest it would be super strange to kill him off out of the blue after him not really having any spotlight for s long time and him just having that whole marriage thing.
And right at the start of an expansion themed around his people.
If they would actually pull that of and then replace him with an alliance orientated Windrunner they can just admit they want this to be an good guy fantasy game and make the horde an evil NPC faction and force transition all horde players
