It looks more like a hint that Xal’atath has some plans to do something with the Sunwell
I could also see them using it as a way to interject Arator into the story, having him save the blood elf leader and become the bridge between the alliance and horde elves.

The Horde and Alliance will return to Quel’Thalas with or without Lor’Themar.
Well they killed Vol’jin after he became warchief, actually did nothing at all in the one expansion he was in charge and died in the opening of the following expansion to make room for sylvanas.
Blizzard well known for their respondsible use of beloved and long standing horde characters.
The difference is though - Vol’jin was axed in an expansion that had nothing to do with Darkspear Trolls.
Lor’themar isn’t going to be axed so suddenly…I honestly believe that it’s far too obvious and it makes no sense to what Chris said about uniting the scattered Elven peoples
No - I think this is a situation where Lor’themar has been defeated in the immediate battle but is going to survive. Xal doesn’t even look like she’s ready to kill him or do anything of that nature.
Lor’Themar’s problem is that he can’t defeat Xal’atath, he’s not as powerful as Alleria.
Lor’Themar must be replaced by Alleria, so that she becomes the leader of elven reunification.
No he doesn’t need to be replaced or anything. There’s no “leader of the Elven unification” - it’s just ALL Elves are banding together to defeat the void.
Why you fake High Elf fans, who I want removed from the High Elf support campaign because your fake and bring the cause to toxic levels, are so intimidated by Horde Elven characters, is beyond me because they have NOTHING to do with the playable High Elf cause. Lor’themar, Thalyssra, Sylvanas, Velonara - they all just live rent-free in your heads and it’s so…pathetic.
Nightborne, Blood Elves and the all the others, like the Illidari and Darkfallen
Alleria will be the only elf who will be able to unite all the elves because she is the powerful heroine of Quel’Thalas.

Also - strong hints of Sylvanas returning as well. You see, people like you don’t consider anything else because you believe your own lies and headcanons about unconfirmed tripe.
Thalyssra stands more chances of uniting the Elves considering…she united the Elven forces in Suramar and she basically united the Horde and Alliance in Nazjatar
I love how they try to make aleria look like this overpowered elve we desperately need cause she is alliance aligned.
Lorthemar has the full power that two wells can provide plus the knowledge and and battle power of both the blood knights and the nightborn arcanists.
And then also the forsaken with maybe sylvanas a whole army composed of a race that is immune to void corrupten.
If Amani trolls get added, then I may have to fully reroll as an Amani Warrior or Druid.
But we’ll see if Blizzard mention anything next week at GamesCom.
Sylvanas’ return is as a good as confirmed and I have sneaking suspicion that Blizzard will “tease” her return with appearing from a portal and it will just a boot or the side of her hood and then it will be the end of the cinematic.
The fact is, and I’m no Sylvanas supporter or loyalist, but she’s far more popular and generates far more excitement than Alleria ever could. Alleria and Vereesa are only known to the playerbase because everybody knew Sylvanas. Hell, I only twigged Vereesa by her surname, the first time I arrived in Dalaran back in actual WOTLK of 2008, when I reached level 77 on my Blood Elf Warlock
No more elves. We need cool races instead. Mechataurens, mechaorcs, mechadwarves, mechatrolls

Well I hope Lor’themar does not die. I like him as a leader. He always been conflicted on which side Blood elves should be regardless of things that have happend in the past, bad blood from both Horde and Alliance. Otherwise he would never worked with Jaina or any other Alliance leaders. Or discussed with Varian wrynn about rejoining the Alliance in Mists of Pandaria. Also considering why he will allow Void elves and High elves to come home in Midnight. …He kind of reminds me of Elrond. Always calm and polite. Well the LOTR Elrond and not the “fake” Elrond of rings of power.
Grandmaster Rommath however always stood his ground when it comes to the Alliance, Rommath have always hated the Alliance since Warcraft 3 for what Garithos did.
Ok just went to wowhead. Hmm I don’t remember Xal’atath ever killing anyone. Others did that in her name. But could be Lor’themar fights her and as he is on his knees, exhausted, defeated. She “convince him” to join her. Become her Champion.
Anyway I look forward to Legion remix, saw that we are getting Eagle mounts. No saddle or brown eagle sadly but hey we get Eagles. Tons of gear for transmog and mounts. The white eagle will be perfect for my Silver Covenant High elves.
