Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

This is true, none of them do. They weren’t a major feature in Warcraft 3. But they were used by the Elven units in Warcraft 2. Using them as a point of differentiation is ridiculous because if they were to become a thing again, why would they used as the weak basis for a new race when they are better served as Blood Elf/Void Elf customisation options?

For me, whatever occurred in W2 means nothing because we got proper High Elf development in W3, where we actually meet the Elven Ranger General, Sylvanas Windrunner and she is the crux character in this argument.

If she did not have tattoos, then I’m sorry, but High Elf Farstrider tattoos just aren’t a thing. It was only something for one Farstrider and that was Alleria, who wasn’t even a Ranger General.

Hell, not even the current Ranger General of the Silver Covenant uses tattoos.

How is it not being discussed in good faith?

You seem to misunderstand what the debate is about. The debate is not finding a way for High Elves to be playable on the Alliance, it is between those who want them and those who oppose the request.

The request is opposed because in a game structured around two distinct factions, it is simple good manners that if you want to play a core race of my faction you play on my faction.

If you feel that is unfair, and you probably do, then I have as much sympathy for you as someone who wishes to play a gnome on the Horde.

But I can assure you that THIS is being conducted in good faith. I am not operating a hidden agenda, I am very open about my beliefs and I have striven to analyse every single argument put forward for this, yet every single argument fails to pass muster.4

wouldnt it be rll cool tho

“Ill ignore part of the lore because its not good for my argument”

It would be awesome. I prefer the HE to have their own thing not related to BE.

Oh boy 2 replies from ignored people, its gonna stay ignored lmao
Not interested on another round of the same old. Gonna keep this productive.

The last survey leaked mentioned High Elves, so the acknowledgment that it is wanted is there. The fight is far from over!

Sure.

Just like it would be really cool for Blood Elves to get their arcane runic, facial tattoos as per the TBC artwork.

I mean, the argument can easily be made for Blood Elves to get tattoos because Rommath has them as well

Because it’s irrelevant.

Alleria is irrelevant in any talks regarding “Ranger General.”

You can’t use the argument of “herp derp, Brightwing doesn’t have tattoos” and then be a total liar and think that tattoos work for High Elves, when they don’t because Sylvanas debunks you

And you won’t comment any further on this because you know I’m right and you know Sylvanas is the end of your argument.

Warcraft 2 doesn’t matter for the post vanilla world. All interesting lore of the elves happened at the point off Warcraft 3. And by that time the elves no longer supported the alliance.

And this is why you fail.

Because you can’t comprehend the argument.

You ignore the big factor like you always do when it comes to High Elves/Farstriders and tattoos because Sylvanas IS the character that defeats your own argument.

“Brightwing doesn’t have tattoos and he’s Ranger General, therefore Blood Elves don’t get tattoos.”
That is the most stupidest argument I have ever seen because in the same breath:

“Sylvanas Windrunner didn’t have tattoos and she was Ranger General of the High Elves, therefore High Elves can’t have tattoos.”

Alleria is the only Farstrider that actually has tattoos. No one else. Seems to be a unique thing just for her.

Rommath only has tattoos for Blood Elves…does that mean Blood Elves should get tattoos?
I mean, that’s actually a better standing because he’s the Grand Magister of Quel’Thalas.

Or should Blood Elves get their TBC facial arcane runic tattoos?

well…

  1. tattooed
  2. HMP
  3. Blueberry traitor
  4. half breed kid

that’s a lot of :triangular_flag_on_post:

Theres a lot of missing compreension but it aint here.

You guys dont want HE to take away from BE. fair, we suggest or own thing, with basis on the lore, “no you cant have that because I dont want to”. LOL

Keep changing chars so I can block them all.

I think if pro High Elf folks are so defensive about tattoos as one of the last possible points of differentiation they can think of then they really need to be afraid to cast a critical gaze over the rest of their argument…

But it’s not truly based on the lore if your coming at an angle of “Brightwing doesn’t have tattoos.”

Because, neither did Sylvanas or Lireesa.

And these two mean more to the High Elves than Alleria does.

You need to approach this topic from a different angle because Sylvanas debunks the whole “Brightwing doesn’t have tattoos.”

And this is where Linir is a failure.

He blocks because he can’t engage with the basic argument…the basic argument, even coming from a pro-High Elf supporter who actually knows their lore.

It’s about ego and Linir is blocking us because his ego is being damaged.

ur right blood elves rlly should get em
tattoos are an elven birthright tbh, no matter the flavour of elf

Well, no they’re not.

The main birthright of the Elves is the Arcane. Tattoos are just a cosmetic. A cool cosmetic, but it’s neither here nor there.

They don’t make or break playable High Elves

I have seen some amazing concepts on the American forums for HE customization, it would look really cool.

If people want them from a lore standpoint…just forget it from a lore stand point because going down the route of:
“Brightwing doesn’t have them as the Blood Elf Ranger General” doesn’t work. Why? Because Sylvanas defeats that whole argument.

Have tattoos, by all means - but I’d forget trying to “lore-reason” it.
