Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

They are not.
First of all they did not choose that fate so bringing up there appearance is unfair.

And second I don’t see the forsaken flooding the lands devouring all life.
And the only thing they do that the scourge did is the plague but the plague the forsaken use is just a poison.

Yes they are

But that makes them not like the scourge.

Sure they did terrible things which race did not?

You re simping humans, the race who wanted to kill us with the friendship of the kirin tor

Even if they are disgusting by appearence, forsaken did nothing wrong to us

You are missing the point
They WERE the Scourge
They broke later away
Then they continue to do what the Scourge did

Yes they where against there will.
And then they did what they needed to survive in a world where they where hated for existing by there own people and families.

And don’t get me wrong there are and where absolutely people in there ranks that are awful and that do/did awful things but don’t throw them all in the same pot.

Many forsaken are just civilians. Farmer, tailor, blacksmith. Sylvanas never forced them to fight. Is it fair to call those people monsters like the scourge?

No, but the Lich King did
To them they were just undead or abomination material
The sea of undead sieged Quel’thalas and tore apart the living and consumed them
And no mater ther job, the taste of flesh was still in their mouth and their hunger remained
But I said, Forsaken is an umbrella term, not a species, they are many kinds of undead
For every farmer there is a skeleton or abomination too
They were Scourge and “they did it against their will” is just as empty as following orders
Not to mention after they broke free they continued the Scoruge way of life, developed biologoical weapons and even the civilians have the battlecry “Death to the Living” and if the quests tought us anything (given by from soldiers to commoners) they are mentally unstable at best and outright became monstorus at worse
They are monsters not just called monsters Pipeline
Just some of them able to behave civilized and hold back the hunger and the dark urges

But in a Blood/High Elf’s eyes they are just undead - and most of the case the same undead that ravaged the whole continent and their kingdom and Silvermoon itself
Undead monstrosities who - regardless of their “intention” killed and ate friends and family
It is not some laughing matter or “I am a rotting flesh eating corpse with dark murderous urges, I wasn’t even there” , when an Elf looks at an undead she only sees the undending weaves of rotten faces marching mercilesly against the living
Especialy if history proved time to time the Forsken battle tactics, methods, weaponry and soldiers are exactly the same as the Scourge’s - you know bioweapon catapults that makes the soil tainted, killer plagues, cannibalization, slaughterhouses, meat catapults, abominations and skeletons… the whole “Death to the Living” battlecry and blind loyality and membership in the Sylvanas personality cult who herself was a bona fide monster

But okay, let put all those things away
Accept no undead ever wanted to be what it is now
As much as I hate Shadowlands it is still happened and still a canon and we know for a fact, there is a new Judge of the Dead who owes a big one for Azeroth and a desire to give everyone its desired afterlife - and not just the elite, the Kalia subplot whole point is even commoners talk about Maldraxxus and the Afterlife and they helped out
The Forsaken know they are cursed monsters and only have to die to be free of it and have their deserved afterlife
They are still around - I know because offing a whole “race” is a bad move business wise, but from lore point of view we are talking is hard to explain and only one explanation remains:
They know their deserved afterlife would be horrible because what they did and even a cursed half-existence pestering the living is better

That’s a very typical elve way to see the world.

Yes the forsaken scream “death to the living” cause every waking moment the living want there death. How would you feel if you being hunted for existing?

You say yourself forsaken is an umbrella term but then you throw all of them in the same basket.
For you the farmer that did nothing but farming since he got either resurrected or freed from the scourge is just as evil as the alchemist that develops plagues for war.

And on the matter if the plague. Why wouldn’t they use it? Would you not use your greatest weapon? Especially fighting people that hate you for being in that world.

And yes many or even most forsaken where cult like loyal to sylvanas but why not? She was the one who freed them. The one who gave them a purpose who united them to survive. Ofcourse she gets treated like a god queen.
And you dare to put “they did it against there will” in alight as if they had any chance to not follow the scourge. In " I just followed orders" you at least have the choice to disobey and die. There was no choice to follow arthas he and frostmourne where absolut.

But since we are condemning every member of a group/race no matter if they actually had a hand in it. Wasn’t it you race that split the world in two and got the burning legion here in there lust for power?
I mean sure it was Sahara and her peps but that’s your elven queen so it’s your sins too.

The forsaken are far from perfect I am not blind but saying all forsaken are like the scourge cause there are still those who use scourge tactics is like saying all Germans are you know what just cause we still have those idiots here

And exactly that is what this dicussion is about, isn’t it?
Why the Elves of any kind would hate the Forsaken and wouldn’t even be willing to be the same room with those monsters

You know you are right
They are worse than the Scourge because they do exactly what the Scourge did/do but while the Scourge is/was basically the extension of the Lich King’s will they do all those things from out of their free will

And the German thing is not really working because while the Scourge marched in unision under Arthas to siege Qual’thalas and Silvermoon, killed 90% of the population those germans did not - not all of them. But every Forsaken at one point been a Scourge member
Your example would be those Germans who did certain things then throw up their hands “I was just following orders” and “in those camps I tough they would help them to learn how to concentrate” excuse…
You would not see any victim eat that bs

You still act like the forsaken had a choice to follow arthas.
He had a sword and a helm that granted him the power to reanimat and control.
Made by a freaking death god but somehow the forsaken should just not have followed those order?

The very first second the got the chance to not follow the scourge they did they even fought against him for revenge.

If all forsaken are like the scourge then all you elves are world shattering demon slaves and all humans are concentration camp building monsters

Grasping straws arent we?

Your own words
Yes the Scoure did what it did becasue the Lich King / Arthas made them to do
Then the same Scoruge members became free, still undead and may or may not have the memories what they did under the Lich King / Arthas
From the victims point of view it matters not - they did it and now who ate my love’s face shambles before me, of course I will hate him even if he is innocent or not
In time maybe I would be able to forgive, that is true
BUT
After their freedom they embraced and used the same tactics, same methonds and used them with glee and this time out of their own free will
And that is the important, no one held a gun to your head (except Sylvanas…) to be a Forsaken
None of them decided to live a solitary life in the woods disgusted by the ways your “people” embraced
Except a few NPCs
So any understanding and forgiveness is out of the window just like with the sympathy as soon as the first plague bomb dropped and Forsaken munched on the living

Friendly reminder that if not for the Forsaken, a lot more of Quel’Thalas would be a blackened wasteland devoid of life by now.

Does that absolve them of all wrongdoings? Absolutely not, but it’s not quite a black-and-white situation if you’re a Blood Elf.

Oh I’m so sorry they did not hide in the woods and wait to get purged by the humans.

You really sit here and condem.them for not wanting to die a second time?
Who even decided it’s not ok to use a plague?
It’s not even the same plague and they don’t infect grains to thin out the people of stormwind. They could but they don’t do it.
Could it be that it’s the people that want to see the forsaken purged by fire are the ones that don’t want them to use the plague?

You want them to sit there waiting for death or even better hang themselves for something they did not do.

And btw you cry mighty fine about how the arthas and the scourge attacks your people. Where where you’re people when it all started?
Lorderon was not able to face the scourge alone even before the paladins and the king where gone. Stratholm is a stone throwe from your kingdom. You had the might of the sun well but there was no army of elves cleansing the land together with the human paladins to stop the scourge before it was to late.
But now the remaining forsaken of lorderon are the bad guys cause they “act like the scourge” they try to survive that’s what they do.

Look me into the eyes and tell me you’re people would not use every weapon they have if it would mean your folks can survive

This has now veered wildly offtopic, and should be reported as such.

Please make a new thread.

This is a thread to discuss the merits of high elves as a playable presence in the Alliance (and not while appropriating the cosmetic appearance of void elves)

They aren’t even close to the scourge. The Forsaken have been better allies then the humans could hope to be. What did it feel like selling out your homeland to be controlled by Stormwind?

You are ofcourse right.

My apologies for steering this so far off the initial topic.

Blizzard has not commented on this. While its entirely reasonable for someone to use those ears as a half-elf setup there is also no reason that some Blood Elves just don’t have smaller ears. (Night Elves also have ear sizes and since they’re the predating species its potentially just a hold over.)

Also I have a belf character that I use the shorter ears on because she is half Blood Elf and Half Mag’har Orc. (Main timeline Mag’har orc) so other options also abound.

MY headcanon it is an atavistic throwback and they got the short end - pun intended - of the genetic stick
It is the echo of their Troll ancestry, way back to the Zandalari Tribe
Their ears are shorter especially the females’ ears
Nothing supports the theory of mine but it is a bit better than the version where some mutated flesh cursed Vrykul offspring got in to the mix
Same with the various skin tones - the Troll ancestros genes surfaced, and thats why some of them are not the usual

Blizzard also never commented if there are apache helicopter or not in the game

High and blood elves have long ears by facts and genetics

Find me a npc, before the ears patch, wow or warcraft 1-2-3 with short ears.

There isnt

+There isnt any half elf half orc

But normally shorter ears should be a uncommon but not non existing thing. Like we are not all build the same the reason why it wasn’t in the game before is cause blizz and all other gma Devs are lazy
