Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 2)

But I do have a vendetta against you, you accused me of being a racist transphobe and then were stupid enough to double down on it, so not letting that one slide. And I am so sorry you find my comments so dreary. I assume it is the lack of emojis peppered throughout.

There is no difference between Blood Elves and High Elves beyond a political opinion, though I have to assume if you keep writing the fan fiction you’re so fond of you eventually start to believe it.

This again? Okay.

Maybe reflect on why I made the parallel, or why people call you things like:

Oh Amora, you brought real world topics into a video game discussion. You could have just said ‘I’m a complete moron without a sense of perspective’ and it would have been an easier way of letting everyone know. Doubling down by trying to justify it merely compounds the confirmation.

And it’s because you are an over-sensitive fan-fiction writer peddling her own headcanon who doesn’t like her little pet dream being discredited, or it being pointed it ain’t happening. You’re going to end up like all those folks from years ago around the time of WOD or BFA who were just as defensive, just as prone to lash out when told it wasn’t happening, who predicted that Blizzard would bend to them if they whinged enough and who are still waiting, all these years later.

And with some folks, that makes me smile. As here!

Get over yourself and get some perspective.

Everyone who has responded to me respectfully has gotten respect in return. Every time someone takes it personal I have no problem taking it there either.

You are not being harassed. You are being disagreed with. Or at least you were until you decided to make completely inappropriate real world comparisons. If you are incapable of treating disagreement with respect, if you can only debate on the level of a child who is told they can’t have something, then that’s what you are going to get.

Got back from 4 week vacation back to my home country of New Zealand and what a great array of spoilers.

Hopefully, this does result in playable High Elves…but so long as they are completely distinct and don’t infringe or leach from Blood Elves.

If what you want is just “Blood Elves on Alliance, with all things Blood Elf” - well, your an idiot.

That is all it can be though. Anything that is not that is not a High Elf. That is why Blizzard made Void Elves in the first place.

Besides, we have enough information now to rule out a stand alone allied race, which leaves ocstomizing Void Elves as the only possible path, and even that is incredibly unlikely given the asks (a toggle for the racial).

I respectfully disagree.

I think their are ways in which you can make High Elves playable and not even mention the words “Quel’Thalas” or “Silvermoon.”

Their is Silverglade Refuge which isn’t big enough to be a questing location, but is enough for an allied race introduction.

I’m not keen on it, I have to say - because I’d have wanted High Elves out of Quel’Thalas altogether, just so they have a better means of being playable. Shandaral was there for the High Elf taking.

But genuinely, how? Remember, even Blizzard couldn’t do it. That is why they made Void Elves.

The thing is we have a developer who would know if they were coming who tweeted and his tweets clearly imply they aren’t coming. We have the lack of a necessary Horde equivalent. And it seems the elf storyline concludes with 12.0, maybe some post scripts but the bulk of it will be done at the end of the raid. I think Silverglade refuge exists solely to tie up the loos end of the Silver Covenant with Dalaran being destroyed.

My advice for my fellow HE fans, put them on ignore dont bother with their hidden replies as im doing now, and keep the conversation focused and productive. They cant stop us from talking not matter how they wish it. And thats why they linger around.

So Quel’thalas Adventurers at Stormwind, the Silver Sun Accord, Void Elves moving into Windrunner Village, and the Refuge with Silver Covenant. It seems the reunification means neutrality for the Thalassian Elves.

Now I want to know which roles the Outland High Elves that have been datamined will have.

Void Elves were basically made for the Blood Elf model access on Alliance side, but lacked any story build up because it was model > lore.

They tried to tie it into the High Elf traitor, Dark’han - but with the amount of Blood Elves who were there…the void elf build up felt more like an extension to Sunfury Blood Elf lore, than it did High Elf lore.

Well we don’t really know that because we don’t know the story beyond 12.0.

I reckon it will still hold a heavy Blood Elf presence, along with Void Elves and Nightborne.

We do know the max level campaign does see the Horde Elves in Bel’ameth with Shandris, Maiev and Jarod, but I doubt the Night Elves will have much in this story.

Comparing him to a racist actually was pretty messed up tbf

Your reasonings do not really matter unless he was making actual bigoted comments about people.

You crossed a line with that one. Can’t say I blame him for being mad.

With the silver covenant being there making comments about the horde, but there also being the sunsilver accord building in silvermoon that was mentioned earlier, my guess is the formation of the sunsilver accord comes after the events of silverglade in the story.

Im just wondering if the silver covenant will still exist or if its a full merger.

I hope it does, because the Silver Covenant was one of the best factions to stir the faction conflict and it’s an offense against the BFA faction war story, to not include them for the San’layn arc

I was not vibing with that Night Elf vs San’layn thing in BFA. It felt forced and “let’s just give the Night Elves something..”

Using Vereesa and her Silver Covenant Rangers for that storyline would have been so much better and would have raised tensions again between High Elves and Blood Elves/Darkfallen

Yes, I can happily admit Void Elves are blatant in how they were forced into the story, but that is purely because Blizzard didn’t want to give High Elves to the Alliance because they felt that that was just giving a duplicate of a core Horde race to the Alliance. In fairness they’ve been used a few times since and are getting a heap ton of screen time in Midnight it seems.

That is true, but people can let their imaginations run wild. Look at Linir, scraping together a few elements from the beta and concluding Quel’thalas is leaving the Horde to go neutral. Now, I ask you, does that sound either likely or reasonable?
Even from a gameplay perspective removing a core Horde race from the Horde simply won’t happen due to the backlash it would generate from the far wider playerbase.

My own perspective is that the Alliance High Elves are probably going to be retired in the narrative. Allowed to live in Quel’thalas story wise, maybe even permitted to retain their affiliation with the Alliance, but that the Kingdom will remain within the Horde (Blizzard just went to the effort of bedecking Blood Elf naval assets in Horde iconography for one thing. If they need to use those ships in future, it’s going to scream Horde from the get go). The Silver Covenant will just stop showing up, which makes sense as they no longer have a mobile base in Dalaran.

I have to disagree, the Void Elves replaced the Silver Covenant as the foil for the Blood Elves once they were added in BFA. Even in Midnight there are two elven aesthetics, Blood Elven and Void Elven, representing the dichotomy.

But I do think that argument has fallen apart because with the High Elf features that were added in…that expansion that we don’t name, because you could have just used the current Void Elf hairstyles with some combinations of Human, Night Elf and Blood Elf hair colours (because hair colours are always being traded across races, hell - it started in TBC with Human hair shades being put on Blood Elves) and the High Elf race would have been alright.

Start them in Shandaral and then in TLT, it could have been a chance to see a revamp to their new city and home.

I don’t think they did.

The Night Elves replaced the High Elves in the specific story that I’m talking about and, for me, it didn’t work.

High Elves had lore with the San’layn as we saw during Quel’Delar. They had reason to be against the Blood elves and Darkfallen/San’layn at that time.

Blizzard could and should have waited for the Darkshore stuff to use the Night Elves again, but instead, they were forced into a story that was much better suited for the Quel’dorei.

That’s because he’s a moron and isn’t a true High Elf supporter.

What he wants is “Blood Elves on alliance, with all things Blood Elf, to follow.” That is NEVER going to happen. The first lines from Lor’themar are evident enough that Silvermoon, Quel’Thalas and the Sunwell belong to the Sin’dorei, first and foremost.

The new naval port between Silvermoon and Quel’Danas with all those Horde Blood Elf ships is also evidence that despite what in-game shows for 2/3’s of Silvermoon, this is still a Horde City.

Possibly, but I do hope they aren’t forgotten to that extent.

Their has been datamined models for both Auric and Rellian who were High Elf Rangers under Alleria, during the 2nd War.

He continually makes unhinged comments about peoples intelligence, and their purpose here, twisting innocent requests into some kind of weird obsession.

When it’s him that is obsessed, he stalks this thread non-stop and he has been harassing people for a long, long time.

He is utterly unhinged.

I don’t believe in asking for all things Blood Elf, to be transported to the Alliance / Neutral, are “innocent requests” and that is me speaking as a High Elf supporter.
