It means he’s not human anymore. The last parts of his humanity were claimed the moment he picked up the sword.
He’s as monstrous as the undead he controls.

you didnt play Warcraft 3 RoC Path of the damned lmao
please be honest with yourself lmao youre a impusilve liar.
If you ask IA they all say Arthas died the moment he claimed Frostmourne and with many sources (game and lore). But they refuse to accept the truth.
For my Void Elf Hunter (High Elf Hunter), I’d love to see that blue and purple version of the Quel’Thalas.
There’s a friendly Blood Elf NPC in Silvermoon who also wears it.
I think it would be perfect for a High Elf Arcane Mage.
And then Sin’dorei Mages have that datamined Nighthold set which is just in pure Blood Elf colours.
I did
Confirmed by dev themselves that “Arthas never died”
Who the are you as a random person to declare what the lore is? Sir?
The hostility in this thread was all part of the jailers plan…
his soul was scarred not claimed, maybe twisted is better wording?
who the fu*k cares what that x random dev said? he doesnt even know its own lore lmao
when you play the undead campaign guess what? Arthas is the main character in Warcraft 3 RoC Undead campaign “path of the damned” ok i have to roast you i guess.
Intro:
“Arthas, riding invincible, appears at a graveyard.”
Arthas: What Trickery is this?
“The death knight notices Tichondrius standing atop a nearby hill.”
Arthas: Mal’Ganis! I don’t know how you survived, but I will–
Tichondrius: Calm yourself, Prince Arthas. I am Tichondrius. Like Mal’Ganis, i am a dreadlord, but I am not your enemy. In truth, I’ve come to congratulate you.
Arthas: Congratulate me?
Tichondrius: By killing your own father and delivering this land to the scourge, you have passed your first test. The Lich King is pleased with your…. enthusiasm.
Arthas: Yes. I’ve damned everyone and everything I’ve ever loved in his name, and I still fell no remorse. No shame. No pity.
Tichondrius: The runeblade(froustmorne) that you carry was forged by the lich king and empowered to steal souls. Yours was the first one it claimed.
Arthas: Then I’ll make do without one. What is the Lich King’s will?
Tichondrius: The Cult of the damned must be rallied once again. Many of the acolytes have been in hiding amonst the populance. Once you’ve rallied them, I will give you further instructions.
You and that random dev didnt play the game lmao
Feel free to be against it, but dont drop around here saying we want sexual assault to happen. And you are not even sorry for what you implied and now drop another implication. There is something nasty about for sure.
Q: How will the death knights fit into the Alliance, when they were primarily horde.
A: Still deliberating. Warcraft II death knights were on the Horde side. In Warcraft III, it was a number of paladins who succumbed to despair and fear. Arthas never died. Are death knights really dead and do their powers reflect Warcraft III? How can they be let into the factions?
Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasabi at blizzcon 2007

“Random dev”
Brigante or something. Sorry, not sure and I used to argue with this guy a lot.
Her source is from 2007. BC was out and WOTLK wasn’t even a thing. Bahaha
Oh she’s raiding the oldies chest again? Lmao
But funny how they blame Arthas and ignore the huge undead army he was leading, which the forsaken were part of. Mental olympics.
Because it’s true. It was a panicked move from Blizzard. A lot of dumb stuff was added and removed in that panic. Like the removal of emotes and so on.
Its blizzcon about wotlk
Like HE subject, your argument is denying
Apparently you re an AI fan so…
The statement is partially correct: while Arthas Menethil died, he was resurrected as an undead being and never truly experienced a permanent death in the way a mortal would. The idea that he was a living person who died is inaccurate, but the claim that Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi were involved in his lore is correct, as they were key creative members of Blizzard Entertainment who worked on the Warcraft franchise.
Arthas’s death and undeath
Arthas was originally a human paladin who died in a sense, as his soul was corrupted by the cursed runeblade, Frostmourne, notes Reddit.
After becoming the Lich King, he went through a transition into a state of true undeath.
He was considered to be both alive and undead, straddling the line between life and death.
Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi
Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi were both key creative figures at Blizzard Entertainment who contributed significantly to the Warcraft lore.
Their work included the storylines and characters of Arthas Menethil.
Ahahahahah
I never said you did. I simply pointed out that the best chance for you to get your wish fulfilled is another scandal like that. Up to you if you wish for it or not.
“How dare the creator of the warcraft universe not align with MY belief! He’s wrong for that!”
Yeah. And 2 years later in the same Blizzcon panel Metzen thought Kurdran Wildhammer had died in Day of Dragon while he had been chilling in Outland for 3 years.
He still does not get it. Amazing.
Back to the High elf thread. Just to tell you that I logged into to the beta and visited
the empty Thalassian Range
The zone is reaaaallly big, and could really fit for a new high elf home since it’s really far from Quel’Thalas, and next to the only High elf settlement we know so far.
It could be a nice deal for Blood elf fans who don’t want Alliance near their city and High elf fans who want an entire High elf zone for themselves.
