Don’t worry, there will definitely be plenty of players who will be happy to have their High Elf and Amani Allied Races (or new customizations).
A part of me finds it hard to believe that they’re not just going to add a single neutral allied race that can join both factions.
Nothing in the last 3 expansions has hinted at faction conflict or even story telling to come back in any meaningful gratifying way (would love to be proven wrong tho)
High elf alliance / Amani horde would make more sense then High elf neutral and Amani neutral but will they actually acknowledge that this game has two factions in this way?
But then that whole we should put our past grievances aside talk doesn’t make much sense.
Also framing it visually like the talk could either happen in SW or og doesn’t make sense when the two are part of different factions.
It could be that the whole faction barrier falls tho.
But we don’t know if that short has any value at all.
After all it for some reason wasn’t uploaded on the main account and just Somer European side accounts
By this logic, night elves, and all elven kind, should be on the Horde side because Trolls are the original elven origin.
Make it make sense. ![]()
I don’t recall that conversation taking place between amani and thalassians admittedly
would also be kind of weird if a quote you could find on a calendar would be enough to still that blood fued, I imagine the only thing that would overcome that is a threat so great both sides face assured destruction if they don’t work together (the void invasion starts in both zul’aman and the sunwell for example) and even then it’d be a stretch without the rest of the horde mediating
and its mostly about what I expect from blizzard based on the last 3 expansions, not what I want to see, or what I would think would make sense
I still hope the faction barrier doesn’t fall, that’d be the end of an era for warcraft storytelling and one where I’m not sure if I want to be present for the sequel
I was talking about that YouTube short that got uploaded on both the French and German warcraft YouTube channel.
And while I wouldn’t not want high elves or Amani as a playable races since I find that incredibly lame cause we have enough elves and trolls if they want to go that route I can’t see them doing high elves for alliance and Amani for the horde.
That would be incredibly unfair.
The Amani require a complete new model cause people expect the big bulky jungle trolls and not just a dark spear called Amani.
Of they do that they can just directly tell us they want a sht storm and don’t care what players want.
And then the high elves would just be blood elves with a different name tag.
There is no physical differences to blood elves cause they are high elves they just don’t use that name anymore.
When it comes to the faction barrier the short made me think about either both races being neutral or the faction barrier falling since the short is made in a way that the discussion could be held both in OG or SW
Alleria can become a weapon of the light instead of the void. But she would need help for that. She has a Naaru inside her that can shift from one to another.
If the story goes that way, yeah Xal’atah would make better leader for the void, but we don’t know what she is planning in the next patch. She could be leading us astray. Strange the void elves are in the next patch all for Alleria when they angry with her back in the dark heart quest for not keeping her promise but now that anger has shifted towards Locus-walker instead.
We will see reworked Dreanai areas one day in the future.
Damn this is not easy with cast on my arm.
It is strange Cylina.
Doronsvidoes who was just few years ago, totally against High elves for the Alliance and what a bad idea it would be, suddely is for it now. As He has made many vidoes for Alliance High elves as playable.
Would be cool to see Amani playable too. Been wishing for all Orignal races to be playable for wow. And the Amani troll lands is suppose to be bigger then we seen in wow and Blizzard is making Quel’thalas bigger then before, for sky riding but that also means they have to fill up the extra space with content.
I hope the music for Midnight, there be more Drum music as it been missing for years for wow now. But also elven music too ofcourse.

would appreciate a translation on the german bit
you see the darkspear troll (that’s not an amani) in orgrimmar mention amani but I have no clue what they’re yapping about
if this is true tho I will be happy if only for the fact that this means blizzard can still create seperate things for either faction
Well the dark spear is a stand in for an Amani since calls himself an Amani.
He basically tells the tale of how the elves came and defeated the Amani together with the humans.
The high elve is telling the tale of how silbermoon got attacked and nearly destroyed by the scourge.
In the end the troll talks about how it’s maybe time to put past grievances aside and work together.
On the first look it looks like a pretty obvious trolls for the horde elves for the alliance type of deal but the way they talk and the way it’s visually portrait with one being in SW one in og but it looks like they are talking and the conversation could take place in either location I think something else is possible.
Either the high elves will be not a full race but something for void and blood elves as customisations and the trolls are gonna be neutral or the actual let the faction barrier fall completely.
The former is much more likely tho
If Silvermoon is destroyed at Midnight, perhaps the Horde and Alliance hubs will return.
The Horde hub could be in the Amani kingdom zone, and the Alliance hub in the unknown zone (Northeron???) of Quel’Thalas.
I don’t see the point of Silvermoon being destroyed as it going to be part of the old world and not part of TBC any more. More likely the surrounding areas of Quel’thalas will be reshaped by the Void and Silvermoon is the Last Bastion as the last line of defends before the Sunwell. Also now that the Sunwell been reignited since TBC. All they have to do is activate the Mana/Arcane Shield, like they have in the past against the Old Horde and the Scourge (Before Dar’Khan Drathir shut the shield down and Silvermoon was destroyed and Sylvanas Windrunner fell). It can be activated again, but perhaps it be up to the player (champion) to activate it. We know since TBC a Blood elf mage been trying/researching to figure out how it all worked in the past. But without a powersource (the Sunwell) it was impossible to know if it would work or not but Now that the Sunwell is back and they now have a powersource strong enough to hold it.
Can only hope Chris Metzen remembers the Mana/Arcane Shield, because Im sure the other writers don’t know what im talking about as they don’t know what happen before Wow. The Reason why Sylvanas sacrificed her Rangers so that the civilians could get behind the Mana/Arcane shield (It was Sylvanas last resort for a unwinnable battle), only for Sylvanas to see the shield to vanish/shut down and most High elves got killed after she got killed herself by Arthas and then turned into a Banshee. If they got behind the shield, they would have outlasted the Scourge as the sheild was impermeable and we would had a different story of World of Warcraft later on as the remaining Alliance in the south of EK (That is The Humans of Stormwind and the Dwarves of Ironforge) would have saved the High elves.
Arthas knew this, its why he killed Dar’Khan Drathir and raised him as undead and used him to shut down the High elves Mana/Arcane shield from behind while Arthas kept Sylvanas on her toes so she would not see what was happening from the shadows.

Even Dalaran had a Mana/Arcane shield (Powered by small crystals and not as powerful as the Silvermoons Mana/Arcane shield) until Arthas destroyed the Mana/Arcane shield to get the Artifact he wanted from Dalaran.
It will also be the first time we see it in action. Nightborne had a Mana/Arcane shield too…until we destroyed the Nightwell and at the same time cursed the Nightborne if their mana/arcane tree would ever become unstable, history would repeat it self.

If Silvermoon gets destroyed. What was the point rebuilding it in the first place? We already know Alliance High elves are already there, helping the Blood elves to rebuild Silvermoon. To see it rebuilt and then destroyed few moments later…Déjà vu. Not sure what Blizzard was thinking if that is going to happen in Midnight. That Silvermoon will always be “in ruins”, that High/Blood elves will always be cursed and become Nomads forever and without a home from now on.

• Turalyon Portrait - “The High Exarch” (Decor)

They will probably be the main characters of Midnight.
Well her “title” seems to spoil her story in Midnight. But I don’t think they be the only ones.
Hope we get pictures of the customizations and the mounts at Gamescon.
Hmm I wonder, are the Blood elves (In Silvermoon) going to have a evolution in Midnight. Becoming something that people joked about before.
If Alleria becomes the Ranger General of Silvermoon, she could also become the leader of elven reunification.
Well She will lead the defenses for sure against the Void. But what about Halduron Brightwing I wonder…but then again he and his farstriders were not in Silvermoon when the Scourge attacked a second time with the Newly created San’lyn leading them. And the Blood Knights and the Mages had to defend Quel’thalas. Maybe the Blood elves have been without a Ranger General since Legion when Halduron joined Trueshot Lodge. Or maybe she becomes Ranger General since she knows most about the Void and Lor’themar Theron appointed her Ranger General or Halduron let Alleria have the titel for the battle of the Void. But we will see in 2 weeks. I think Midnight might be exciting as Legion expansion was.
Thanks for the translation!
north of tirisfal around the coast right? possibly but it feels quite far removed from QT, though I guess it’ll depend on when the maps surface
If SMC is not in danger but lets say the sunwell is (my hope) then SMC should just be the horde hub
if its all of quel’thalas, I imagine quel’danas being the hub zone
I don’t think they’ll create seperate hub zones for alliance and horde admittedly, but I wish they would.
I will eat my shoe
Alleria is only in the spotlight because Blizzard simply couldn’t justify a Sylvanas redemption at the end of SL (they did try tho), a literal second pick character, a sylvanas at home and SMC already has actual farstriders to choose for the position
Personally I’m hoping for a ‘ranger general of the silver covenant’ thing
I’m so tired of this discussion, you got void elves which makes 0 sense but you have it.
Everything in this game is alliance centric as it is, please stop.
High elf crybabies are so exhausting. You have high elf customizations. A High elf race would be the fourth use of the belf skeleton with essentially existing customizations and insignificantly different racials.
If you wanna play a high elf, you can do so in pretty much every capacity that matters. Please shut up already
NO, and nothing, nothing forces you to click on this topic. If you got nothing to say, go somewhere else.
Void elves are not our fault. Its Blizzard choice being too scared of Horde player crybabies backlash as they always been since vanilla as the lead teams themshelves play on the Horde side since vanilla and don’t want their own Guilds to kick them out. They gave Horde an Alliance race so Horde Players stop crying about unfairness of player populations. Did it ever make since for Blood elves to join the Horde? NO as High elves were everywhere in the Alliance in Vanilla. But what can we do when Blizzard devs bend the Knee to crying Horde players. And later on not all Horde players wanted Blood elves in the Horde as they would ruin the Horde Identity. Did the Blood elves saved the Horde player populations…yes but at the same time the Alliance player populations started dieing as more and more players went to the Horde side. Blizzard had to even use carrot on stick to get Horde players over to the Alliance side as again Horde players started crying that there was NO alliance players to start PVP battlegrounds. Wonder why.
Does Void elves make any sense in the Alliance? in a “Light” worship faction?? NO.
Also there is now a new model for High elves that Blizzard could have used that is based off the OLD High elves models from Vanilla as OLD High elves models were based of Night elves. Now there is a model that is updated model of that old one with some Blood elf features and Night elves features of the new model of Malygos and Sindragosa from Dragon flight expansion. Which Blizzard could have use to difference them between Blood elf and Alliance High elf.

Does Void elves make sense in the Horde…YES as they are just how Blood elves were back in the Begining of TBC as they were all about “Darker” powers (FEL) to make themshelves stronger. But then Blizzard made the Sunwell patch as we continuedto ask for High elves but it was their way of saying “There Alliance, there is your High elves” to show us High elves fans “the finger” but ruining the Blood elves story of gaining more Darker powers to rebuild their “Empire”. Void elves “would” have been the next step for them as the Void is stronger than the Fel.

And we are now going back, back where it all started in Quel’thalas/Silvermoon in Midnight. If Silvermoon had never felled, The HIgh elves would have joined the Alliance and we would had different story of wow. High elves in Silvermoon would never have changed their name. Sunwell would never been destroyed. The Legion would not have invaded Azeroth until much, much later. Arthas scourge army would have fallen and no new Lich King. Kel’thuzad would never been a Lich…he still be dead. Garithos would not have forced the Blood elves to Outland etc etc.
Lordaeron was destroyed by Arthas yes but the Alliance in the south (Stomwind Humans, Ironforge Dwarves) would have reclamied with the help of the High elves…eventually.
