You cannot be this dense. You are trolling.
This was the model. If you don’t believe it I thin Classic still has the models, go check it out.

YET we got void elves…after and wait…he also said after void elves anything possible in the future… :))
i know how highelves looked in classic…im talking about new model in tbc.
Yeah but this was the model to all Thalassians until blizzard decided for a upgrade to make them different from the Night elves.
Blood elf NPC’s and even Sylvanas herself had these models during classic
So during Classic it was basically a Undead looking Night elf who is Queen of the Forsaken
I know, I was around then actually. And that’s what I said, they shared the nelf skeleton till TBC.
Most reasons are applicable to void elves as well.
Insert a politically influental high elf figure stating something along the lines of: “Lor’themar has thrown his lot in with the horde and is attacking our allies and we cannot stand idly by any longer, vote me for President of Quel’Thalas.”
Then the goal would be to retake Quel’Thalas and the alliance could help push this claim because surely it would be in their interest to diminish the horde’s presence within the eastern kingdoms? It’s a better goal than “oh no, blood elves suddenly don’t tolerate bad magix, let’s go to the alliance with their other new allied race, the über light zealots. They’ll surely accept us!”
They’re practically a cult. The only reason we got void elves is because they’re flashy.
I don’t think we’ll ever get playable high elves but introducing void elves instead of high elves is perhaps the dumbest decision Blizzard has ever done in this franchise. There’s nothing brilliant about it.
Welp, 3000 replies and counting almost, let us all agree that high elves did join both faction: the magic-starved blood elves for the Horde in 2007 and the L’ura-morphed void elves in 2020.
It would have been pointless for Blizzard to allow two identical races in both factions, especially after the neutral-race (Panderen) fiasco that got developers and writers state that they would never do it again.
Now stop this madness please and accepts things as they are, we have bigger issues incoming, like the fact that we don’t have a release date for Shadowlands yet.
Lets be fair. People keep saying that, but it ain’t true.
What-Did- happen, is that an ex-employee of Blizzard said “Yeah, Pandaren were a mistake”
Blizzard have never made such a statement, so thats kind of like going “Brigante hates a certain Spanish Bank that rhymes with Salamander because they broke financial law in the UK and threatened staff with redundancy if they blew the whistle, then made them redundant anyway, I am sure his views on them would be impartial and unbiased…I mean no one ever complains about the decisions an Ex-Employer makes after they have walked away from them”
Said no one ever.
The Pandaren thing is rubbish. Blizzard have never said it was a mistake, or that they regretted it. I mean they just -did- it again for goodness sake!
One disgruntled Ex-employee said it… That is -all-.
Come on, seriously?
Do you expect the company to officially state through its Twitter account that the introduction of pandaren was ill planned and didn’t turn out as good as they thought? They can get away with it when it comes to balance issues or tuning fixes, but surely can’t speak openly against something that is now canon.
No, but equally do people expect the words of an ex-employee to have no tinge of rancour to them?
Blizzard have said nowt about it. An Ex Employee has. They might be right, but we don’t know, the difference is people keep quoting that as fact, when it really isn’t.
Intel from the Classic side:
The high elves use the kaldorei models and voices.
They’re quite ugly and stupid looking though, primitive and unfinished. The blue eyes are super small dots, not much to make a fuss over.
They would never align with the alliance lore-wise. Too much bad blood, shunning, and murder for that to hold which mostly came from the ally side and that is why BELF are horde. Same reason for a lot of the undead becoming “foresaken” after Arthas was dethroned. The alliance shunned them. In a way, the horde is home to many races that were rejected and treated poorly by the alliance at the start of WoW lore.
Exactly and High Elves are Still Alliance.
Nope. Would not work lore-wise especially since BELFs are simply high elves that changed their name. Google the lore some time.
But you can’t use the Quel’dorei mount which indicates you’re a Belf with blue eyes.
By saying you are High Elf you are are disgracing the BloodElves.
I have a suggestion.
Firstly in regards to High elf appearance it’s going to be covered soon, since both Void elves (and Blood elves for that matter) will be able to be customized using the High elf features.
So the “problem” really is the Void elf faction and lore in itself, which I think was a mistake to begin with, since it was lore that came out of nowhere instead of using existing Alliance High elves.
But moving on, why not essentially incorporate those elements into the Void elves as they currently stand and have them mingled as a faction with the High elves (already happening to a degree), rename the race from Void elves to “Elves” or “Alliance Elves” etc, and give the option on character creation to pick which one you want to be and follow this chosen path; High Elf or Void Elf.
Essentially creating two sub-races into the existing race, and give them slightly different racials for flair (replace Spatial rift with an arcane or skilled/ninja jump ability, change some icons and other details etc)
Lastly, add the Paladin class to the mix and you’re set.
WE WANT HIGHELVES, accept and move on!
Personal opinion…nothing more. He spoke over himself not blizzard.
True!
or give highelves such as SC elves, that would solve all of this?
I actually managed to make a convincing “High elf” using my Void elf. Only thing missing is hair color.
This is a NPC in Stormwind (mage trainer)
Thanks for posting it! I hope I get TL3 so things get easier
