Discussions are reasonable. What you got here is not. And please, don’t pretend as if you are interested in a discussion. You have been barking and people who don’t agree with you.
There is nothing left to discuss. A compromise was made.
But they do look like Blood Elves, with mostly blue eyes, on Alliance, yes? Or No?
Come on, how difficult is it to get a Yes or No answer out of you? If you can’t even answer that, you are just trolling the hell out of us and have no interest in High Elves at all.
A High Elf Model looks like a Blood Elf playable model, with blue eyes, on Alliance, yes? If you cannot answer that, then the logical assumption to make is that you think they look like something different. Which means you want some bizarre thing that looks different from a High Elf. What I am asking is, what is that bizarre thing? Wings, Horns, Hooves, or do you just want High Elves to look like Silver Covenant High Elves as depicted in game, which use the Blood Elf model, with blue or violet eyes?
Yes, or No.
One word is the answer.
Yes or No.
Unless you do want them to not look like High Elves in which case please do elaborate.
If you try to answer “Silver Covenant! Silver Covenant!” We will know you are a troll. Because Silver Covenant look like Blood Elves, with blue or violet eyes, on Alliance side.
I see that this topic is still alive. Whereas I’m all for playable high elves on the Alliance, I find the OP’s arguments in favour of making high elves a separate playable race, even after the void elves got so close, and moreso, the OP’s lack of basic knowledge of what high elves are, so off putting that, should I base my views on what comes up in this thread alone, I’d actually be against high elves altogether.
We’ve got void elves with every single trait that high elves have, except from hair and racial abilities. There’s no chance, and no reason anymore, that we’ll get high elves as a separate race, but we’re very, very close with the void elves right now. In the other thread, New customization options for blood elves and void elves - #2970 by Leerena-aerie-peak, we’re discussing getting the final high elven options for the playable void elves, and we’ll be there.
Can you please explain how you consider it even reasonable to create yet another playable Thalassian race, rather than adding full high elf options to the void elves, who only lack hair options to look 100% identical to the high elves? Hair and visual racial ability effects is all we need.
Two things here. You refuse to answer Brigante’s question. High elves look identical to blood elves, especially now that blood elves have gotten their blue and purple eyes back. There’s no visual difference. There’s not even supposed to be any visual difference, perhaps except for some blood elves having fel green or Light golden eyes, which most high elves wouldn’t be able to have. Minor details, to be honest, especially since Allerian Expedition high elves can have fel green eyes, and that the Sunwell can also possibly grant high elven priests golden eyes. So the visual differences are gone. Completely.
High elves are identical to blood elves. Their racial abilities, however, might be something else, due to how the two chose different paths when Kael offered them mana tap. I’m not sure how that would affect them today, though.
Secondly, I don’t actually think there’s a definite schism between high and blood elf fans, and that many players might have a foot in each camp. There’s no need to be anti high elf just because you’re pro blood elf (or vice versa).
Neither side will lose anything if void elves, who already have high elven skin and eyes, also got access to high elf hair styles and colours, and perhaps, just perhaps, an option to select different racial visuals. Zandalari trolls already have this option to choose racial abilities, after all.
I’d prefer that as well, but that ship sailed when we got so many high elf options, and now I hope Blizzard will make the best of it. Which to me is both more void options and the rest of the high elf options.
False. Voice, hair, racial and tag. The skin colours are already in place.
And there you just said that that void elf looks like a blood (and then also high) elf. See? We’re almost there already. It’s the final few points we need to get high elves playable through the void elves.
Maybe you’re right. High elves should have been playable years ago. But right now, we’re where we are, with void elves playable, and they’re almost able to look like high elves. So now, the best path to go, in my opinion, is to add the final options to void elves to place full high elves within the void elf frame. If changing the race tag, perhaps through tying it to a racial ability option, is possible, then that’d be swell.
