Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

In your opinion
You’ve said nothing valid in mine

Thats not an argument

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned in the literally thousands of posts going on here but void elves do have a unique whispery echo to their voices that high elves do not.

The former can’t be the latter no matter how many new skintones they get. High elves are the untainted who manage their mana craving with meditation, okay, but what would they actually look like to be distinct in any way? New voice acting is a requirement too.

Just pray they don’t passive-aggressively get a super annoying voice like how the pandaren language just became a stupid meme.

A new voice or racial doesn’t justify a whole new race

Agreed but they still made mag’har, dark irons and lightforged rather than have them be unlockable customizations.

Yeah but they hold real distinctions.
Like, maghar was skin tones but you’re using a normal skin tone.

What would they even have to justify a clear cut between the races?
Because hair is a pretty lame one

I asked the high elf discord and they all said they wanted the race but now void elf options are all they want

To want both is crazy and the high elf discord agreed

Lore wise, High Elves would be awesome. They could even slightly remodel them, so they’re not exactly like Blood Elves. Kind of how they slightly remodelled Nightelves into Nightborne.

I would play one, I think their storyline would be cool

so you asked 90% horde mains who play blood elf what they want?:stuck_out_tongue: ok

Well, the chances of High Elves being released as a separate race are pretty much 0 now, Void Elf options to look as one are the way to go and what High Elf folks should be going for and supporting.

I wanted this before the Void Elves got the natural skin colors and the blue eyes, but it’s probably not going to happen now.

I wanted unique voicelines, racials, heritage armor, mount, starting area, things that Allied Races have, but, i will settle for High Elf customization to the Void Elves. They could enable a option to remove reverb effects on their voices so they look more natural and an option to make Entropic Embrace less visible, small things like these could go a long way.

I feel like, if you just take the special effects from their voices it would already do it, they would sound normal. The voicelines would still be all about Void and stuff, but the voice lines you hear all the time like “I need to target something first”, “I’m out of range” or the screams of pain don’t rally break the immersion of being a High Elf.

just please no. Why not give what we exactly?> which are silver covenant highelves. As they are.

lightforged high elves ;D i dig - the same but holy

Mood.

At this point what can even be done to justifiably add a whole new race when the customizations already offer most of what’s needed? The mag’har boat already sailed for the high elves with these new skintones.

Introducing the race takes a brief silver covenant themed questline where they formally break from the neutral kirin tor and Vereesa steps up to lead against some new threat. Voice acting added for the subrace. Racials and bonuses added. Existing blood elf models with blood elf hair applied.

In my view they would get a handful of unique things but lack others, like the gold and phoenix jewelry of the blood elves but that’s it? And what does the Horde get to balance this out?

True. But remember that at the time before the Allied races came, Blizz stance was clear they did not want to allow much customisation for existing races (probably to push AR as -content-).

It’s just late BFA and now SL that they allow so much. It is also the cheapest way to go. You save all that dev time for creating starting zone / heritage armor / mount.

You can be a sand troll, wildhammer etc now. That is really cool. Would it be better to have them as Allied races? Yes if course. But at the same time they are struggling so much with the dev of the core game itself, that this should always be their priority nr 1.

balance doesn’t mean giving the faction that has gotten everything it wanted more

These high elf threads are like Queen Elizabeth, they never die :smirk:
