Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

We talk about game stuff, but we are real world humans. See the difference?

I’m Shal’dorei irl.

whats going on? Yes i know. ,But our avatars represent what we stand for?

Topic about highelves, not about something in real life.

Brigante is blood elf, and he represents horde.

So thats why my hoodies are have teared holes…

Not necessarily. Some of us play more characters than we post with, and some even support more ideas. Brigante the character is a blood elf game toon. The person who controls him and posts with him is a human made of flesh, bones, blood, hair and other physical stuff. Similarly, you’re not an elf. You post with an elf toon on a forum. In reality, you’re a human, not even such as Silver Covenant human.

Yes i am nelf. And i like them. I try act like one of them, it is game forums.

Who am I im real Life? Human body - yes. Soul? Yes. But i am not my body.

Wow…Thats…just…right…Blood Elves are a fictional construction for a computer game, and not real.

No they don’t. They are a meaningless icon, which in some cases, like myself, people use consistently so that people know who they are talking to, If I kept cycling between my various Horde or Alliance characters, that is not going to change my opinions, but it would be discourteous to other Forum users, as they would be less easy to keep a continuity of conversation. It would also be a bit dodgy, in that it would look like I was trying to say that more people agreed with me, despite it being the same person.

If you mean “The character, Ranger-Captain Brigante Summerisle is a Blood Elf” Then you would be 100% right. “He represents Horde” is not even correct, because he is a Ranger-Captain, he has bosses who are Ranger-Lords, They have a boss who is the Ranger-General, He has a Boss who is the Regent Lord of Quel’thalas. As the senior member of the Horde Council on Azeroth currently, -He- as in Lor’themar Theron represents the Horde. Brigante Summerisle would only represent the Horde if in some low to mid-level political talks if instructed to by his Superiors as an Envoy.

Brigante Summerisle however is not typing this, he does not own a Laptop, or know how to use one, and does not live in the Shires of England. On Earth.

Add a bit of Titanium and you’re spot on. Actually, wait a minute, Titanium most definitely counts as ‘Physical stuff’ You’re right.

Jaysis…why is it often people on Non-RP realms who have a problem disassociating themselves from their characters…

You wouldn’t be posting if that was the case! The Kaldorei do not have the Internet or computers! This isn’t an RP forum where people stay ‘In Character’ you know?

I’m a kindergarten teacher. I work with crying, screaming, sometimes biting, throwing, drawing on walls, refusing to wear weather appropriate clothing, and more, toddlers and kids, from under a year old, and because of a collaboration with the after-school program, up to early puberty, with all the drama and refusal to listen that comes with that age.

I do this for a living. I consider myself a very patient person, able to stay calm and keep reason in conflicts. I also proud myself in my efforts to be able to reason with toddlers in a way they can understand.

I take my hat off and bow before your patience with this one, Brigante. Colour me impressed.

How dare you :dagger:

Indeed, Brigante is something that closest to a saint in this regard

Still waiting for Blonde ponytails.

I’ve been reading the last few weeks the people trying to act like keyboard warriors in this thread crying about what the Belves should get if Velf characters get simple hairstyles.

The answer to that is nothing. You’ve got unique customisations already. All we want is some basic non void hairstyles in lighter tones such as brown and blonde and to an extreme degree perhaps a jet black hair colour too.

That’s it. That’s all we want.

Probably after some of the other Allied races in more drastic need of customisation than Void Elves. I reckon it won’t take much to implement, but it would be grossly unfair if they gave Void Elves a second wave of customisation, whilst ignoring playable races who got pretty much none.

I think that is because Blood Elf fans want the -amount- of unique customisations that were promised, and that other main races received. Like Draenei, they got massively let down. This is why people are getting peeved when Void Elf fans, who got the most customisation of any Allied race, are demanding Blood Elf assets and to be head of the queue again, ahead of Allied races who received 3 customisations…

Every Extra Blood Elf asset that is given to the Void Elves therefore reduces the number of -unique- assets the Blood Elves have, exacerbating that failed promise that Blizzard made.

It’s pretty simple. Blonde hair for Void Elves so they can look like High Elves? Totally cool. Release it alongside Farstrider warpaint for -just- Blood Elves, so that they have -some- unique customisations as they were promised. Blood Elf hairstyles for Void Elves? Totally cool, release it alongside Arcane runic tattoos for Blood Elf Magisters.

It is about parity. So far Blood Elves and Draenei got massively short changed by Blizz, so asking for anything from either of them is logically gonna rile people unless they get something also.

Its about basic fairness, to be honest.

Heh, cheers. I do jobs at LARP, Faction Referees and Customer Support, which means that sometimes I have to be -very- patient with people, and stay calm and use what we refer to as my ‘Ref Translator’ which is an internal switch Refs have that allows us to go “Excuse me, can we just have a chat about your behaviour just now, and a slight reminder of X System’s rules” to sometimes big burly drunk people, when what you want to shout at them is “Did you just…Oh you did not, you Damned Idiot! Once more and you’re out sunshine! I’d say go sit on the naughty step and think what you just did, but the state you’re in, you’d trip over it, do yourself a bloody mischief, and then I’d only have to deal with the problem and radio the paramedics in! Sort your bloody self out, you plum!”

Doing that for thirty years has worked wonders for my ability to remain calm

yes they are fictional but also real. Not in our real life, but ingame they are real.

Yes they do.

For you.

because it’s game forums?

they have even better then things.

exactly. They already got everything what alliance been asking for past 15 years. Enough!

You will get nothing.

I think you really should seek professional help

Our icons do not represent anything about us other than what character we decided to select on the forums.

They say nothing about people who play both factions.

Most people simply use a “forum main” so people know who they are. yet there you are saying it suggests something about someone beyond that? Who are you trying to kid?

Enough about elves on alliance and how they “need” this or that. SOme allied races got absolutely nothing. NOTHING. Not even an eye colour change, or a separation of assets (like facial hair and beard) or an odd earring or two DESPITE THE FACT THEY SHARE A MODEL WITH A CORE RACE THAT GOT STUFF LIKE THIS. I am of course talking about LFD whom in addition to the above have amongst the lowest customization options in the game and life Belf, have a portion of their cusotmisation (body tattoos) barely visible unless you walk around with no chest mog.

So no, blonde hair can wait if honest. Maybe give the races that got absolutely diddly squat like Nightborne, LFD and DID something first- seems fair to me. Blonde hair can be discussed after this surely. I mean let’s look:

(Using Males)
Faces: Velf have 8 faces specific to their “void tones” and about 16 faces if we count those that aren’t locked to that tone. LFD have 10 faces.

Hairstyles: Velf have about 12 styles including baldness, LFD have 7 including baldness.

Beards: Velf have about 6-7 styles including none (including options which barely differ) LFD have 5 styles including none.

Hair colours: Velf have 8 colours which are fairly distinct, although the greyish tones are very similar. LFD have 5 colours and 4 of them are near-identical.

Skin colours: Velf have 8 void tones and about 16 non-void tones. LFD have 3 tones, two of which (white and grey) are very similar.

Tattoos: Velf have none, LFD have 3

Sigils: Velf have none, LFD have 6

Eyes: Velf have 8 eye colours, LFD have 1

So let’s let the races with very limited options get something first please. I’m not asking for tons, but i’d like more than white to pick from for my hair, and a few more skin colours would be nice.

I don’t know why everyone thinks that when Blizzard add customizations in the future, they will focus on one allied race and ignore that rest. That is False.

The only reason Void elves got some stuff early along with the core races is because the stuff they got is already in the game, a copy paste process. Nothing new. It’s also to keep things cool, I mean can you imagine the anger if Blood elves got blue eyes and alliance Didn’t? It would be a slap to the face to the long awaited 16 year Helf request. The forums and Reddit would explode from complaints. So they gave it to both factions which include Void elves .

So when Allied races get a customization update, most likely they will focus on ALL allied races, including the Void elves. Since Void elves didn’t get anything (new), especially when it comes to hair customizations they got nothing at all.

I do not mind at all, I am fine with this. And I am sorry that people are still advocating for a separate race of high elves when we have void elves. They should take advantage of void elves and make the best out of them, but with some light colours added like white and blonde (and ofc black) so high elfs fans can get a more wholesome high elf theme in them too. No need for a separate race now that light skinned void elves are here.

Yeah, I completely agree with that, some blonde hair, auburn hair, proper black hair, and some extra hairstyles without tentacles should see Void Elves sorted. You can then play your actual Void Elf, you can also play your actual High Elf. They can speak Thalassian, they can speak Common ( I mean if you wanted to go proper hardcore, as many do on RP Realms) and they can speak Common and Orcish, as everyone in lore apparently does, by buying the Elixir of Tongues, which is cheap as chips, stacks in 20’s and lasts for ages.

It is basically High Elves. Give them those colours for Hair, and that is High Elves.

Job is a good un.

That is fine, but I think you would have a better chance of being listened to and agreed on with this if you made a thread about LFD customizations. Then we can support you and say some ideas. The Alliance can support each other. None of us said Velfs should be first in queue. After Nightborne and LFD I am fine with it but don’t put me behind vulpera and kul tiran or dark iron dwarves, lol. They have many customizations and vulpera are waaaayyyy too niche to have a ton of customizations. Like, I think it will be extremely difficult to come up with a ton of stuff for vulpera, they are just foxes.

NO. highelves as allied race! Lesser races can wait.

void elves, YEs. Now we ask playable highelves with highelf tag such as silver covenant highelves

we have them , silver covenant could be those highelves…ready to play right now
