The high elves?
The ones on alliance?

No, Moontear was saying that maybe Sylvanas could lead the San’Layn if they were given to Horde as customization or allied race. Although I doubt the game is heading towards that direction. I think Sylvanas will either: 1. sacrifise herself for the good of Azeroth and its heroes, or 2. be purified and turn back into a High Elf Ranger General, or 3. the most boring and annoying option, lose, admit she was wrong and be forgiven.
Sylvanas needs to die finally/be written out. Anything else will be the most awful writing ever, and trust me, I have worked as a proof reader, I know awful writing.
I don’t mind if she does some heroic sacrifice and dies. Let her have her moment. I don’t even mind if she helps us kill the Jailer and replaces him, staying in the Shadowlands (This is my personal theory) but if she comes back to Azeroth, then Blizzard are out of their tiny little minds.
How is she going to lead these (Entirely extinct after Legion) San’Layn into the Horde? She isn’t even -in- the Horde anymore. She is an active -Enemy- of the Horde. She’s got nothing. She burned the last ‘comrade’ she had, when she whoofed off and disappeared up her own bum after the Mak’gora with Saurfang.
The instant she sets foot on Azeroth, she will just be what she was, a very powerful Dark Ranger. Because we’re going to kill the Jailor, we all know it. So Either Sylvanas replaces the Jailor and stays in Shadowlands, and Steve Danuser has to find someone else to obsess over, or she comes back without those powers. In which case her life expectancy is about T-however minutes it takes troops to mobilise. She’s gonna be Kill on Sight, to both Alliance -and- Horde.
There can only be one Ranger-General at a time, because it -is- a specific title, that means the sole commander of the entire military of Quel’thalas. (It actually predates the Farstriders, their highest rank is Ranger-Lord, but in fairness every Ranger-General has also been a Farstrider). This is also why Vereesa is not really a Ranger-General, her actual rank formally would be Farstrider. (Assuming she did finish her training after getting knocked up by Rhonin, it would simply be ‘Ranger’ if she had not.)
Sylvanas needs to end. Her story has outstayed it’s welcome, and has just become derivative and ridiculous, there is no more power creep they can impose upon her, that will not make the whole franchise an utter farce.
Also, apart from US Twilight Fanboys, who the hells actually want San’layn!

I would enjoy her simply being killed off as another deranged Garrosh. She had her time,just let her die for her beliefs.
Atleast until 10.0 where she is resurrected by DKs to fight super sayin aliens thats come to suck the green out of the orcs

Well High elves have leader, Vareesa, void elves, Alleria, so Sylvanas should return and be Ranger-General of Silvermoon. :_)
She will not die, we will free her trapped spirit which was mind controlled by jailer. All her evil actions were Jailors doing.
Yeah…but, the problem there is that Vereesa is only the leader of the Silver Covenant, not all High Elves, You’re probably looking at Auric Sunchaser for that, but fair enough. Alleria is -co-leader- of the Void Elves, alongside Magister Umbric, and Sylvanas can’t waltz back in as Ranger-General of Silvermoon. She’d get annihilated after the stunt she pulled at the gate of Orgrimmar. Halduron Brightwing is the Ranger-General of Quel’thalas, and there can only be one at a time. She’d have to rejoin the Horde first, and I can’t see them welcoming her back with open arms, as even the Forsaken in the Horde aren’t fond of her anymore… She’d be going up against Brightwing, Grand Magister Rommath, who is now the most powerful Mage on the planet (As we don’t know what exactly is going on with Aszhara), Aethas Sunreaver (Who is in lore as powerful as Jaina and Khadgar), and Lor’themar Theron. As well as the entire Thalassian army! She’d end up as a sticky pulp on the floor!
No they weren’t…she was up to grim business before -she- even knew the Jailor existed! She did not even know about the Shadowlands until -after- WotLK. That is the exact point she discovered they even existed. (Source ‘Edge of Night’) and even then we have no actual proof that her and the Jailor communicated, it isn’t mentioned in the lore, but that is the first actual point she possibly could have been in communication with her.

Didn’t her “downfall” start when the first of her valkyrien died? Something about an existential(right word?) crisis about facing death again? Any how,blaming the jailer for her “mistakes” is just as stupid as blaming Audin for the elf on a shelf fire.
Yeah, that was kind of in ‘Edge of Night’, which is when the Valkyr entered her service after she tried to commit suicide by jumping off the top of ICC after Arthas was slain, so between WotLK and Cataclysm, in the story she has the whole “I See nothing but Darkness” just like Arthas did, and that is when most lore theorists assume somehow contact with the Jailor was made, which to be honest, could make perfect sense…

umh, no? It started with first death. I think we will find really what happened next week with new patch or even before next expansion when book about her will be released.
maybe this will be in cinematic, can’t wait.

IMO her downfall started with the Cata world revamp and an attempt of noticeably different dev team to use her for a different story. Which alienated quite a few people at the time. And later the dev added “explanation” in a form of that short story (Cataclysm was released in Dec 2010, earliest mentioned of Edge of Night I was able to find is Sep 2011).
It did not even started then as her motivations were going back and forth in the post WotLK days. So, it’s not really possible to trace this plot line without sticking to 1 character trait at the time while ignoring the rest afaia.
Well… after looking at the PTR I’ll just say don’t get your hopes high.

Which was actually amazing. Now need receive those lunar tattoo’s as customization option for night elves.
I hope we will get high elves playable, maybe next expansion.
Its possible that Sylvanas will be redeemed and become high elf ranger again. That her soul will be whole again but remembers every thing she has done up to this point and realizes she became what she hated the most which was Arthas. And at the end of Shadowlands she goes in to exile and will return in a later expansion when Azeroth is in need of Champions again. Same will Anduin that after we save him and at the end of Shadowlands he goes into to exile (Journey again as he has in the past, hopefully becoming more like his father) and Turalyon leads the Alliance for expansion or two. And the Alliance slowly starts to dissolve and goes their separate ways and later the Alliance Heroes/Champions gets a quest to find Anduin (An Older and Wiser Anduin) and bring him back to bring the Alliance back together to have a LOTR “Return of the King” reference. We know how much blizzards uses reference/ideas from LOTR like remember N’zoth’s ending (Just a thought of the future but who knows). Yes its possible that nothing of that happens. there is also a possibility that we might see Vereesa in Shadowlands due to the new book. So we will see in a week/s.
And that new store mount does hints towards Azeroth so we could be going back to Azeroth which I would really like that to happen. Sure blizzard could have stopped using store mounts as hints where we are going next and we might go somewhere else. I guess we see at next Blizzconline next year.
