Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

You’re so wrong

When once we became new players to WoW, we came here to have fun,not to care about the lore

And when nobody asked mechagnomes, doesn’t mean we get them instead of sethrak and vrykul

Saberon became part of the horde like Ogres did,so they could get added to be playable long ago

And support my new friend known as Dwarf paladin who asked to play “Ogres,Vrykul,Saberon,Arakkoa,Tuskarr and Sethrak”

Most of us who cares about High elves. And fans of em. Came from wc3… If they tell you differently they are lying.

Honestly… Not either a huge fan of the new ‘‘No one cares about lore let us have fun narrative’’

Even Moontear here would object you on that. Lore from wc3-classic and upwards is literally the majority of what his case rests upon.

Kind of ironic but funny… The ‘‘No one cares about lore let us have fun’’ Crowd used to actually be avid defenders of void elves back in the days and against High elves.

Actually suggested blizzard go even crazier on void customazastion options and everything. Give em tentacles and third eyes. And make them even more purple.

Back in the day when ‘‘No one asked for this! What about muh lore!’’ Peeps where crying the loudest.

You said that you don’t want to keep us having fun and letting them get high elves, do you?

So that makes you that you don’t like High elves at all

Even getting Draenei/lightforged and Tauren/Highmountain warlocks would get fun,but you don’t keep them get fun either

The Eredar were actually the first warlocks before zandalari trolls or orcs

I was a High elf super fan back in the day. But unlike the last five of you still here, I was really happy and satesefied when Blizzard finally came around and added High elves options to the Void elves.

You should have been there it was a huge spectacle and not even that long ago. Was around the time our new Customazastion boundle came pre shadowlands. And all our races where getting new customazastions…

If i dont remember correctly… At first Blizzard gave void elves fair skin and blue eyes… But kept the void and tentacle hair in the first initiation of the boundle. And the fight was on.

Everyone was so happy we finally got our High elves eyes and skin ‘‘But that tentacle hair is still a problem though’’ then we finally got it.

And I used to say exactly the same campaing points moontear does now ever since forever ago too. Difference is I was content with the changes and customazastions Void elf got. This entire thread is for those few who didn’t.

In previous threads… I’ve actually advocated for this very class race combo… They are at least more demanded and make more sense than any tauren going ‘‘Clip clop clip clop’’ Before ambushing you behind with their Hoof shoes

Again with this nonsense. Of course both BE and VE are HE’s, biologically. They just aren’t in the Silver Covenant, which it seems for some reason that you declare as a mark of being a ‘true’ HE.

You say there is a difference between BE’s and HE’s visually, but there isn’t any. Zero. Neither with VE’s if they choose the non-void skin colours. HE’s aren’t all white/silver haired with a single specific haircut, that’s just your headcanon.

Sliske… You have no idea what can of worms and rabbit hole you just open >< You cannot tell these guys what magic they use don’t biologically change their race… Like the Fell orcs and Green Orcs etc…

Didn’t work with the void elves and well. Look how that went… They aren’t biologically different anymore.

Heres an actuall orc that actually race changed after consuming the fell…

A race change goes a bit beyond a new eye colour or skin tone. to be Biologically different.

Something allot of WoW players get wrong is that… High elves didn’t change race by taking on the fell…

It’s literally in the trailer for the sunwell.

And also in the wc3 cutscene that i cannot find for the life of me now… Keal’thas renames the surviving High elves to the blood elves. In honor of the fallen of Quel’thalas.

There was never some scientist that came in and declared they where a biologically different race.

Elves should not fight each other, they should unite and try to enjoy different cultures they evolved into over the years. Night elf and blood elf for example should be friends, elves went throught lot of darkness and depression they should enjoy peace at last!

Hard to be satisfied when blizzards way of dealing with this topic has unfortunately been toxic and hypocritical.

High Elves would have been the easiest race to implement in the game, yet they have dragged their feet only to deliver something no one asked for.

Still Missing alot, because void elves was unfinished upon released as a race due to the fact they were last minute decision. Barely any lore, barely any background/origin. We never fought with them in the past, gone to their home land etc etc. Leaving the void elves soulless, like an empty shell. And why they felt so weird as an allied race over the years. But Silver Covenant however, we have fought with them side by side and the silver covenant made their home in Northrend. And I given alot of proof they are and have been part of the Alliance even in WOTLK Expansion. The high elves in the 7th legion are also part of the Silver Covenant. Yes we got the customizations minus new hairstyles and tattoos but they still feel hollow. And I think it is the void theme that make the void elves feel weird. It is unnatural to the world of azeroth, to the medieval/savage world of Azeroth. Had it been an allied race like ethereals like Locus-walkers ethereals race that have been using the void for who knows how long, it would have been more natural and wouldn’t have felt weird.

Can’t connect High elves with void powers. Sure it worked for blood elves using the fel but that was due to their “story”. That blood elves were desperate, desperate to rebuild their empire and they tried everything. All kinds of magic, the more dangerous the better they thought. The more powerful they get, they thought. And for void elves they retconned Dar’Khan Drathir story abit, that he was practice void magic when he never did that. And then made up a group of blood elves playing with void powers which we never heard about or seen or did any quests together or fought side by side etc etc. If blizzard had made a story about Umric and his followers long time ago, maybe cataclysm or something and we helped, fight side by side and then helped them get to Telogrus Rift and we never got to see them again until BFA or something and as Alleria first was teaching Veeresa and her silver covenant void powers and she then went to Silvermoon and we all know what happend there then go on the search for these blood elves to find them. then to Telogrus rift and all that. And that they been living there on Telogrus rift for awhile and built up a small outpost there and they been trying to create their own culture and language and such. But that’s not how blizzard did. They just made a quick story and quick lore. Like a failed race basically.

But like the blood elves who tried to master all kinds of dangerous magic to rebuild their home (Which was the original story for blood elves until the end or burning crusade with the sunwell patch). The alliance high elves have their own story as well. That they were not going to siphon mana from living magical creatures, So they instead siphon from different kinds of magical artifact that barely was enough (Which gave them a paler skin color like they were drained and they lost their eye glow that gave them a more human like eyes), the old perished yes but they are more than void elves are. Yes less than blood elves but They never gave up on the alliance and most of them never left the alliance after the second war, even when their king ordered them home because they believed in the alliance (Just like Alleria does and still do today) and still do and they are the ones we want as a playable race. Their story, their origin and their struggles to survive. And we have many places Alliance High elves hang out in azeroth and in outland. (but we all covered that a million times). And we could have the silver covenant gather the remaining high elves in azeroth and outland and together find a new home they could call their own. Northrend would be that ideal as it was the place we first met Silver covenant, First in Dalaran and then in crystal song forest were they already taken over an ancient elven tower and later at the argent tournament. But what if they also could take over the old village/small city in the crystal song forest as their home. Its full of mystery and ancient highborne tomes and what not. (Love the music over there) and they could also make an alliance with the blue dragonflight with Kalecgos. And they might share their arcane well that both in dragonblight and in nexus. That would give the Alliance high elves their glowing blue eyes back but it also could give them purple glowing eyes. Some got blue hair or purple hair or even white hair etc. I mean there is so much they could have gone with, that would have been better that would have been more natural to the world of Azeorth and made more sense and be different from the blood elves (And then make a race that makes sense that is using void powers/magic like the ethereals or some other race from the void space). But instead they made the void elves and wanted to make them edgy and alienated and went too far from being a high elf, that they don’t feel like they belong in Azeroth and making the void elves as a hollowed race.

I almost passed out checking this reply. For real do you know about the spacebar on your keyboard? or the enter button?`

If you where trying to kill me it almost worked.

But why do you feel that the Alliance ‘deserves’ HE’s? Don’t you think some Blood Elf players finds it unfair that they are loosing their visual uniqueness?

I totally agree on the same with Nightborne and Night Elves, btw

I did videos, to show differences, why it’s nonsense? Biologically they are different, blood elves affected by fel magic and other blood elves affected by void magic. They are not high elves anymore.

Watch videos again , there is.

Amazon UK posted several preview pages from Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms, an upcoming book by Christie Golden. There is one page up that states that “In the end, with their addiction to first arcane magic and then fel energy, and the horrors brought to their doorstep and beyond by Arthas Menethil and the Scourge, the blood elves demonstrated great courage, determination, and strength.”

 And literally Silver Covenant high elves requires least work to make them playable and would please a lot of people.

You should thank your lucky stars that high elves at that time were passed to save dying horde. It was never “fair” for alliance to not get classic race playable and watch how horde can enjoy blood elves.

Please, breath assure → void elves WERE blood elves, literally.

Literally the only visual difference is that Blizzard gave the Alliance HE’s some shade of white hair, to make them stand out just a very little bit. There’s no canon that HE’s have white/silver/whatever it is hair, neither from before the split or now.

Thank what stars? Blizzard wanted to introduce the BE’s to the Horde, and for over 15 years some players have been crying that they feel cheated - why should Blizzard change the lore to accomodate some Alliance players, when Horde also want (and got) High Elves?

Also I’m not sure why you keep refering Alleria as a High Elf, when the first line she says to a new VE character is that she’s a Void Elf, hehe

Literally the reason why I am telling you to ask Blizz just to label the race as Void Elf/High Elf.

When you pick High Elf customization, you have the paladin class available to you. If you pick Void Elf customization, paladin is greyed out again.

Easy fix.

You can try twist and turn and make a lot of effort to tilt this so it suits your proposition, but most people who browse through the alliance races to pick Void Elf will literally think and see “High Elf” when you select the customization options that pretty much do NOT make them Void Elves any more.

Why is it bothering you? I am not bothered. I just find this thread to be a waste of Blizzard’s time, and illogical, because you are asking for that which you already have. You’re only missing the labels and classes that come with those labels.

You’re being illogical and concurrently too complicated about all of this. The physical appearance of our void elves when we give them natural skin colour and everything that comes after is literally no different from that of the physical appearance of NPCs labeled “High Elf.”

A lot of people make some really good, honest points on here and honestly it’s really not that hard to solve as Boughstrider says here:

I have made this suggestion as well but I went further in suggesting more sub-races to be added for RP purposes. Anyways, I agree with you mate that Void elves ARE High elves, even if void-infused. Because Blood elves also ARE High elves. Moontear however, and the others, have a point in the fact that the hairstyles don’t look that…great, and the racials…well. They are a bit underwhelming, and very blue. Now, that’s nothing that cannot be fixed. Where there’s will, there’s a way.

Just ask Blizzard to add some sub-races, such as:

Main Race: Thalassians
Alliance: High elves, Void elves
Horde: Blood elves, Darkfallen

We should be able to freely change our race title and customization options at the barber. Besides, people can even change their own gender there now. And Blizzard doesn’t have to do much about this other than a few UI changes for the nameplates / race names.

But Blizzard needs to be willing to do this. It’s a bit extra effort but will solve the situation once and for all i think. It will just be a sub-race title for the sake of customization and class availability, nothing more.
