Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

I think they should let them be paladins but maybe if they choose paladins they shouldn’t be allowed to choose the voidy customization options? Idk I don’t want to play as a high elf paladin but I think alliance players should be allowed to be an elven paladin

Better to give them Night Elf Paladins then, as that makes more sense than Void Elf Paladins.

Well if they look like wardens or sentinels and use moon abilities, I’m all for it lol

Problem is, for Balance’s sake (Which personally I don’t care about, but some people do) that would mean adding an extra Class to a Horde Race (Preferably an Allied Race to keep it equal).

So if Void Elves get Paladins, thats cool for those who are playing their Void Elves as High Elves, and wanting to be Paladins. Its cool, Its not part of the racial makeup, but we know they can be, one of Uther’s direct pupils was Mehlar Dawnblade. It can happen. But you then have to pick a -Horde- race to get an extra Class. Which, doesn’t actually bother me, the obvious choice would be Zandalari Warlocks, but I like to think the Zandalari are the ‘pure’ Trolls, so don’t have that, but thats probably just me.

Btw this is a bit offtopic but do high elf paladins worship the light or do they see it as a tool? I know that most of the elves, including Liandrin lost their faith in the light when Silvermoon fell and that the blood knights, instead of praying to the light, siphoned the light from M’uru but also when Velen reignites the Sunwell, Liandrin seems to have regretted exploiting M’uru so maybe she has gone back to her old ways? Or now that the Sunwell is 50% light, can they just draw their power from it?

Preferably all Paladins and Priests should have spell animations that reflect the “religion” they adhere to.
The “Golden” glow only fits those who worship the Light in my opinion.

Well, it’s by no means equal today if you’re thinking about number of viable races for classes on the Horde and Alliance.
For some Alliance got more choices and for others the Horde has more choices.

It would seem that most Blood Elven Paladins are now devout followers of the Light, as they are shown to regret their actions in siphoning M’uru.

And it depends on how the rules are for where Paladins get their powers from.

In many fantasy settings Paladins or other similar “holy warriors” get their powers from their faith or their oath to their deity, religion, “a set of morals” or something.
So if that’s true for WoW, then it wouldn’t be possible for a paladin to wield their powers if their faith or conviction wasn’t genuine.
Unless they were “forcing it” from something, and we’ve seen no evidence of Elves subjugating the Light since they stopped siphoning M’uru.

why can’t every race have their unique priests and paladins? I want to play as a loa priest on my zandalari :sob:

Night elf paladins really great idea, but so are highelves for alliance. If they add blood elf skin tones, then they can work on giving paladins too.

But why -should- they? Paladins were -Never- a High Elf Iconic Class.

Are you saying you now -Don’t- want actual High Elves like they were, but you want High Elves Plus!?

Which is it, which do you want. High Elves? Or High Elves with Sprinkles on top?

im fine with highelves playable, blood elf customization for void elves. Would be nice have just original highelves playable just like silvercovenant.

Let me just get this absolutely clear. You are fine, with the Void Elves getting customisations so that they can look like High Elves, but you -also- want a seperate Allied race that are High Elves, who look identical to the Void Elves who can look like High Elves?

Actually you don’t even want HIgh Elves.

You just want Silver Covenant.

Wow, OK, so let me rephrase that, You are fine with Void Elves having customisation to look like High Elves, as long as a seperate Allied Race is added, that is not an actual race, just a political party, called the Silver Covenant, that look the same as the Void Elves who look like High Elves?

Am I getting this right?

“I wants high elfs like silvercovenants.”

I answered for him.

I know, I’m amazed, Its like “I Want Blood Elves like Sunreavers!” “Cool, Go get a Sunreaver Tabard and put it on” “NO! I want Blood Elves like Sunreavers!” “Cool, thats just a Blood Elf that has that political affiliation, put one on, you are a Sunreaver!”

“NO! You don’t Get it! I want to play a Sunreaver!”

Sighs tiredly

“You know what, yeah, you’re right. I don’t get it. I genuinely don’t get what you mean, and i don’t think you do either…”

The Silver Covenant do not have a city. They are guests in Dalaran and there is no way it would be allowed to turn into a personal staging ground for them unless the powers that be in Dalaran want to invite the Horde into blowing it out of the sky.

They are a special ops branch of high elves who solely exist to antagonise Belf. That’s their lore. They’re the Joker to the Belfs Batman, except in this case there are no separate comics for the joker, no side stories and he only turns up to shake his fist at Batman once in a while and that’s as far as his characterisation goes.

Of all the Helf factions to choose they have to be the most dry because they are literally defined by their opposition to Belf. That is all they have going for them. They have no paladins either. They’re basically mages with a few warriors and rangers. That’s it.

“But alliance needs an elf Paladin”

Why? Does horde need an elf druid? What kind of argument is this? On what basis are such arguments made other than “it’d be nice

It’d be nice if I could play as a gnome demon Hunter or a nightborne shaman but it doesn’t exactly make the case reasonabley does it?

Srsly I don’t see the problem in adding High elves in the game if people want them then be happy for them if they get them or not. And yes I want them also but srsly people need to stop this…

Do you know how -angry- the vast majority of Alliance players would be, if they announced High Elves. Don’t you remember how bitter and vitriolic they got over Mechagnomes.

Because you know what would happen…Horde would get something like Ogres (Please Gods no…) and the screaming would deafen the very heavens themselves “OMG HORDE BIAS! They got a whole new race, we just got Blood Elves on Horde!”

I mean we -did- just see that happen…

The thing I don’t understand is this.

Unless you are a Roleplayer, and want to play a High Elf on Alliance, then this literally doesn’t matter.

If you are a Roleplayer, and want to play a High Elf on Alliance, then I can see why this is an issue. In which case you make a Void Elf, and use the High Elf skins.

If you are -not- a Roleplayer, then why do you give a damn, its just pixels. You can’t be a Non-Roleplayer then whine about High Elves being in the Horde, what does it matter to you?

I don’t see them getting angry at all many alliance players wanted High elves for over 15 years. So sorry I don’t agree with you at all ^^…
