The female void elf with purple hair, purple eyes and pale skin and a braided plait - she looks like a High Elf Arcanist. Purple still works for them.

A High Elf with red or brown hair…care to show me, because I find they are on the Horde, in the majority, if not all cases.

it makes no sense for them to go to war against their own people just to satisfy some alliance blood lust
if they did formally go to war with silvermoon they would get barred from the Sunwell and wither
Most of the race consists of blood elves. But Elsharin in the Stormwind Wizard’s Sanctum is strawberry blonde. Gilthares Firebough in Northwatch as red hair. I could go through known high elves and name everyone with red or brown hair, but I won’t.
So the majority who had red hair are now Blood Elves.
So therefore, Blood Elves keep their red, brown, black and blonde hair styles and colours
Void Elves keep their silvers, blues and purples.
High Elf features will choose between the blood elf features (Horde side) or the void elf features (Alliance side.)
Distinction between the two
and tbh I think blizzard should just rename Blood Elves High Elves and end the argument for good
kael’thas renamed them Blood Elves and then betrayed them, its enough of a reason to revert and it would simultaneously deny the alliance their carbon copy of the Belfs because we could say with even more certainty that the high elves, are in fact, part of the horde

True, but he renamed them at a time when he was trying to do the best thing and the term “Blood Elves” is a remembrance towards those who were killed during the Third War.

in regards to the blood of the fallen, they could keep their blood red theme and the blood knights would still be known as such
there is a negative connotation with the word blood and simpletons who refuse to read the lore instantly take it as meaning ‘evil elves’
it would be a simple fix for this antagonistic endless cycle of demanding high elves on the alliance
