Quel'dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race

I’m not so sure. I do feel it’s about time blood elves too get showed some serious new love, however, and for that reason, I support the idea that both high elves and blood elves get war paint options, similar in styles to Rommath and Alleria. Red, and possibly more squared pattens for the blood elves, and blue, and possibly more swirly, rounded for the high elves. It would match up with their rangers’ history, as well as add suitable faction flavour to each, and make it possible to separate the two even more from one another. New hairstyles for the high elves, as well as lacking a few key blood elven hair styles would also work towards the same purpose.

People say we’re a only a few people who want high elves. I argue that only a minority of those who want high elves actually go out and make ourselves heard. While there may be only a few names in this thread, the Legacy of the Quel’Dorei Discord currently has about 400 members, which is still only a small minority of the amount of people who actually want high elves to become playable. The total number is probably impossible t reach, but we’re not insignificant. There was a poll that gathered 683 votes in favour of getting playable high elves. This is still only a small fraction of the amount of people who actually want high elves.

That’s actually quite an interesting way of making them uniques.

However, I still think it’s too late: Blizzard have done their choice with Void Elf and now are probably focusing on Non-Elf races for next round of allied races.

I think so too. And it wouldn’t change their model away from what high elves look like. And the added options for features for the blood elves would compensate for those who feel that high elves would “steal” “their” model. It’d be a win-win.

That’s probably true. Hopefully, though, after a few non-elf allies, we’ll see them added.

And then you will see hundreds of High elf threads every month…

This thread was expanded for just that reason. Dozens of threads about high elves were popping up, because people had different takes on them, and old threads reached the post limits. A megathread was made to keep this discussion in one place. The discussion will keep going, either in this, or in other threads, most likely up until the moment where playable high elves become a fact.

Ugh, I do not want to see Velven “babies”, they’d prolly be some monsters, so no thank you XD

Btw Blizz added so many VE NPCs that the whole one time creation and specific conditions are not a big deal for them, just look at how many Velves are in Nazmir during Alliance distraction attack.

Precisely this, Void elves were blizz their way to give Alliance high elves. Looking a little bit different enough to please the people who want new stuff.

thats why they came out of nowhere without any real build up except on argus, wich technically had nothing to do with the race except for being a similair situation

Seriously if the horde gets a new race with proper skin and the Alliance gets a 3rd reskin of blood elves with just another eye color option, the forums would be aflame just like teldrassil was

And always made by the same people. About 10 people.

I dare to disagree, now in this thread you can see only a few people posting, but in the past there were so many threads with “original” ideas how to implement them, why not etc… by so many players, so closing this thread would just encourage those to start creating new ones and the forum would be flooded with them.

Check out screenshots from Classic Alpha. High Elves actually WERE a playable race on the Alliance side instead of Gnomes.

Might be stupid question but I have to ask it.

Aren’t high elves the same exact thing as blood elves?
I mean didn’t they change their name after Arthas massacred them?

Yes and no. All blood elves used to be High elves, but not all High elves are blood elves. The difference is basically the same between void elves and blood elves. Void elves used to be blood elves but not all belfs are void elves, simple.

I’d very much like to see High elves on Alliance, but Blizzard already failed with this and made a compromise, void elves. I don’t think we’ll see high elves in alliance because of this, unless we’ll get a new skin color that gives us blond hair. We’d still be void elves tough

In game lore it’s been like 35 years since high elves got massacred, right? About 90% of them died, 90% of the survivors went with blood elf name and rest 10% stayed as high elves. I literally can’t see how high elves would be different from blood elves.

I mean elves evolved from trolls, but the change doesn’t happen in couple years.

It’s been about 15.

True I got my years mixed, 35 years from the first war.

Incorrect, the difference between Void Elves and Blood/High Elves is physiological whereas the difference between High Elves and Blood Elves is political.

The difference between Void Elves and other thalassians is therefore something tangible rather than a disagreement. A completely different type of difference.

OK, so because of the political differences, blood elves have green eyes and high elves have blue eyes? I honestly don’t know what causes this difference, i have a hole in my lore knowledge :expressionless:

Eye colour is not a factor in the difference between Blood Elves and High Elves. Some Blood Elves are now manifesting golden eyes after being exposed to the holy energies of the Sunwell after all. Thalassian Elf eye colour is like getting tanned, too much of a particuilar energy source changes the colour. It is irrelevant.

All the elves were once the same, the only difference they really have is the source of their power which I think changes their appearance.

Maybe blood elves sucking magic out of crystals after sunwell was destroyed turned their eyes green. (I really don’t know and I’m too lazy to google.)
