Are there Dwarves on Horde? There could be.
But there aren't.
Could it make sense? It could.
It could absolutely. And if they were introduced there, I'm sure I'd be thrilled.
Would they be the same as other dwarves? Probably, just different faction allegiance.
Pretty much, yeah. Unless the frost dwarfs or other variations were added, of course, but that's beside the point.
Fact of the matter is, introducing 'High Elves' would be a blatant copy of Blood Elves, there would be not a single difference. Not in looks, not in how they are played, not in their lore.
Except from the lore, the eyes, the lore, the allegiance, the lore, the factions, the lore, the stories, the lore, faction flavour, the allies, the lore, the player base and the lore, of course.
As for their identity, you might as well just play a human.
Humans aren't high elves. You could just as easily say that instead of a blood elf, you might just as well play a troll...
Just because you dislike the Horde does not mean that a race should suddenly swap factions.
Luckily, that's not what we're asking for. We just ant the high elves that already are on the Alliance to become playable.
Anyway, as for blurring faction lines, pointing to pandaren won't help, because they are so underplayed that it is irrelevant... and I believe first instinct for everyone but other pandaren is to immediately target and kill pandaren players.
Check out this: https://www.statista.com/statistics/276315/distribution-of-world-of-warcraft-characters-by-race/
According to this statistics, the pandaren of each faction make up about 2.6% of the played characters, making it about a 5.2 in total, which is more than both goblins, gnomes and dwarfs, and bordering on the popularity of the trolls. Or to put it in simpler terms: You're wrong.

Just a slight counter to the last point about pandas.
Since they are on both factions they are open to double the playerbase of any other race in the game.
So it's a bit of a grey area.
Nightborne are literally just Nelf but addicts with tattoos.
Different posture/model.
Lightforged Draenei are literally Draenei like the name imply, but with tattoos and oh gosh, different eye color.
Same faction.
Zandalari are trolls like the trolls we already have, eyes + tattoos (spotting a theme here...).
Different posture/model, same faction.
Highmountain tauren are literally the exact same race as the default tauren (Tattoos and OMG horns instead of eyes).
Same faction.
Mag'har are literally just Orcs who did not drink green dye.
Same faction.
Kul-Tiran are humans, literally exactly like the normal humans, only difference being Blizz forces the playable Kul-Tiran to be ogres for some pointless reason.
Different posture/model, same faction.
Dark Iron dwarves just use too much warpaint and drink liquid fire, but they are dwarves.
Same faction.
I don't see how Blood/High elves are any different, a race that we already have with some minor differences.
You're right. So getting Blood Elves blue eyes should settle this.

Any race is open to the entire playerbase. But claiming that pandaren are so underplayed that they don't blur faction lines, is wrong. There are more pandaren out there than there are gnomes, dwarves and goblins, and almost as many pandaren out there as there are trolls. Out of the thirteen playable races (before the allied races were introduced), pandaren beats three of the other races. With thirteen races, the average race gets about 7.7% of the player base. 5.2% isn't all that bad, especially considering the vast popularity of the humans and blood elves.
And even if HALF of the people who played blood elves today (blood elves hold an average of 15.45% of the EU and US playerbases), changed to high elves, that would place the high elves at 7.7% popularity. That's exactly average. Right now, blood elves are twice as popular as the average race. Humans even more so. But still, half of all blood elves won't be swapped for high elves. As Meleron and others show us clearly, a lot of people enjoy having their elves on the Horde.
The point, though, is that the faction lines becomes a poor excuse for not adding high elves.

I think not blurring faction lines is important though. It may not be to you and that's fine but to others it's a real concern.
That's why if they are added I think they need to be implemented in such away they do not tread on the blood elves toes too much.

What's this supposed to mean? Then they can go ahead and do brand new models for High Elves too, with new faces/hair/facial hair.If they decided that Kultiran humans can look that much different from ordinary human, they can go ahead and do the same for HElves. And again: VE=BElves but VE are alliance and Belves are Horde so all you just said are 'noises'
You're obviously back to being a
toxic hater with nothing real to add to the conversation...It's not that I disagree with you.FACTS disagree with you,so every decent poster here should ignore you...

But, for crying out loud, you play a
void injected blood elf and you're worried that high elves will tread on Blood Elves?!!!
You said your self they can give a more celtic look to High elves. That combined with a whole different 'character' can distinguish High elves pretty good! It's an idea that's viable and I will gladly hear...

Faction lines will remain as unblurred as they are now, with high elves made playable as they exist now.

Moritz It may not be to you and that's fine but to others it's a real concern.
I get that, but let's be real; pandaren, night elves and nightborne, as well as blood elves and void elves have all already established that these lines really aren't that important to Blizzard. Drawing the line (pun intended) at the most requested race in the game's history, simply doesn't make any sense. High elves, made playable looking like they do today, won't ruin any perceived faction lines more than at least five other existing playable races already do. Not one bit.

I disagree. Strongly. No such consideration were given the above mentioned races, with the possible slight exception of the nightborne, simply because it wasn't needed. If you ever wonder what faction any given player belongs to (remember, there are also toys in-game that blur the lines just as much; several toys, even), look at what colour appears above their heads.

There are people here that want high elves to be a carbon copy of blood elves just with blue eyes.
I didn't say they couldn't be done in such a way that wouldn't be a clone of blood elves.
Just that I think if they are added they should be made to be visually distinct.

I will concede pandas but I can easily see the difference between blood elf and void elf as well as night elf and nightbourne elf.
It's not about what colour appears over their head to me.

I totally agree with some visual distinction and I believe it's not hard to accomplish,if the devs are willing to do it.As I've said before I'd even be open to the idea of Half-elves ,with both human and elven characteristics, but only if they 're honestly not able to make distinctive high elf models...
Aside from the eye-glow.
There is nothing different about Blood Elves and High Elves.

Faction lines remain unblurred.

That's a pretty cool model and definitely different than the very slim Belf female faces.
Aside from the eye-glow.
There is nothing different about Blood Elves and High Elves.
High Elves can also have no eye glow at all. They can actually have eyes instead of a pit of fel fire.
Disclaimer: Pits of fel fire in no way indicate demonic influence over a race's actions and joining the Horde was done with full knowledge of the consequences and accepted by all Blood Elves rather than a small group of elites. The red colour scheme is to honour all Blood Elves that died fighting two of their fellow members of the Horde and is no way related to the Eredar. Green is completely out of fashion anyway with the new Chinese market. Green hats in China? Only Meleron could pull it off.

Moritz I think he was referring to the models
Even the models can be changed somewhat. Void Elf hairstyles are very different to Blood Elves. Even if Void Elves had the generic High Elf skin tones they would still be distinct because of the hair, eyes, voice and that racial that turns us blue. A racial similar to the Humans that breaks us out of a form of CC or purges magical debuffs from themselves would give them an obvious presence within PvP as it's something to look out for when planning your attack.

I'm not sure if void elves having a high elf form would have been a good idea.
But while I am completely against adding High Elves with no changes to them. I have no issue whatsoever with adding High Elves with a different look to them.
Hell Im even open to High Elves having the vanilla High Elf model (updated of course) and retconning blood elf lore to say they changed more than just their eyes.
I just don't like the idea of a carbon copy.
Edit: I also wish the void elves had a racial that made them hear void whispers. That would have been badass.
