Wenail Of course it feels forced. Lore is subservient to gameplay ( sry my english is not the best). Original horde races (orcs, trolls, tauren) could not bring the expected numbers. So horde needed alliance races to keep up. And the lore was shaped accordingly. That's why some main characters are acting strange...
Sacrificing your game's story for faction balance is wrong imo, especially in an rpg.To hell with balance, let people choose who they want to be and play how they want to play.Freedom of choice in an rpg is the most important element and it's what separates it from other genres.People always wanted Helves, give them to us already! If people abandon Horde for them, then they weren't supposed to be there anyway!
Honestly, I would be ok if we just had more customization options for VEs so we can resemble High Elves: lighter skin tones, white and blonde-like hair options, as well as an option to turn off void effects' visualization (tentacles and void proc). Tattooes like Alleria's would be an excellent addition too.
If not, then I definitely want High Elves as Allied Race, along with Wildhammer Dwarves, Vrykul, fel Eredar (probably would join the Horde), etc.
Just let it go already. We ddint got highelves, we got void elves. No more alven race will be added any time soon.
Carry on.
so many salty alliance that all their races are ugly lmaooo : - D

We got nonsensical reskin for humans in Kul Tirans, we can get a lot more elven variations, really...
Pretty sure it won't hit live or ptr either . We already got void elves as a new elf race joining the alliance .

Obviously not because we'd know about it by now,but since they'll keep releasing allied races after bfa(as they said in the last q&a),they will eventually give us High elves.Probably, after murlocs...
Im here to bump the thread also where did they say they will give us High Elves?.If they do im prepared to eat my underwear XD.

They said they will release more allied races that noone knows about now and I was being sarcastic about the possibility that we will first see playable murlocs, before they stop being stubborn and give us Helves...I didn't say they confirmed them!
We'll never get High Elves, but some new data mining suggest we will get the Plumb'dorei or the "thicc elves" who instead of hungering for magic or being infected by the void is known by their extreme craving for hamburgers and greasy food.
Although some Blizzard insiders said that being fat and skinny is basically the same thing so we might not get it.
A shame since Alliance have been on such a roll with lore rich and unique allied races.

Don't jest! It's not impossible!Look at the new human race known for their extreme craving for hamburgers and greasy food.Innovation at its finest...
I even have the racials for them.'Feeling full' will give them twice the stats when they eat food and 'shallow breathing' which expends the resource they use for skills twice as fast :p
SO much sh.t in this thread can not even count.
IF YOU HAVE DIFFERENT EYE COLOR It does not make you member of DIFFERENT RACE.
Then how do we get all these new playable 'Allied races' as Blizzard calls them when they are all variants of already existing races smart*ss?If you think like that then Nightborne are exactly the same as Night Elves and also all elves are Night Elves now that I think about it... I agree there is already a lot of sh*t in this thread, unfortunately,so we don't need yours too...
they are not they have different structure skin color and different ears and eyes that is enough making then different race.
IF eye color means different eyes they I am part of Interracial family which members are all from same city and were born in same country and they parents are same race.

So the void elves who have different eye+skin color changed by the void, but the exact same culture and history as Belves have enough differences to be an allied race? It's not just eye color that separates Belves from Helves...But even if it was,it would still be viable to add them in the game with different faces/hairstyles and paler skin tones!

Weeell, visually it kind of is. I mean they -should- be just the same model with blue eyes. That's what High Elves are. That's how they are in game. Now -that- model I would support. The difference between pale skin and darker shades already exists with the model, not that the WC2 High Elves were particularly pale, definitely being on the tanned side of the spectrum.
I can -just about- see High Elves have more 'human-like' hairstyles, they have mingled for a while after all, and ten years is well long enough to go "Oh, I'll try that hairstyle".
Different stances, facial hair, woad or tattoos make absolutely no sense however. What you have to think about is "Was this a custom that existed before the High Elf Exile?" if the answer is 'Yes' then it belongs to the Blood Elves as well as the Exiles, and should not be put in place for one, and not the other. The one character we see with tattoos, and the one character we see with warpaint, were not around when the Exile happened, ( Or Rommath may have been, to be fair, he did zip back and forth, Alleria however was long gone), so it is emphatically not a 'High Elf' thing as in the 10% who were exiled, it is a Thalassian thing, and that's even assuming it isn't just a 'them' thing.
A change of diet and political allegiance does not make you walk differently, and big beardy Anasterian predated the Exile also, so High Elves would have to have the same facial hair as Blood Elves, unless there is some weird snippet of lore that comes out saying otherwise.
This does of course mean that the facial hair options available to Void Elves, them having -been- Blood Elves make no sense, but frankly, I doubt anyone is surprised there.
They just sit in Dalaran eating conjured food and doing nothing. Lets make Fat High Elf to reflect this behavior and to make them unique in the process.
As for standard High Elf: No means No
Deal with it delusional fanboys~

They are also members of the Kirin Tor and citizens of Dalaran a city which has played a significant role in the defence of all Azeroth.Without Dalaran the 'heroes' would have failed horribly.Plus they fought the Lich king and Alleria was in space killing demons. And even if they've had hard times in Wow's history, they remained noble and honorable, whereas their 'cousins' lick the Orcs' and corpses' boots.Pathetic! No means
war!!!

Well, no, they aren't. -One- group of them, the Silver Covenant are, and even then, are they anymore though? They seem to have gone 'rogue' and Off Message, aligning with Jaina rather than the Kirin Tor ( At least until the events of BfA perhaps, when we may see some of them again)
Plus they fought the Lich king and Alleria was in space killing demons.
Yeah, so did the Sunreavers, just saying, I mean they were both still in Dalaran then. Alleria can't be counted. She left before the Exile, she is of the same stock as both High, Blood and now I suppose Void Elves. She's not an example, as there was no difference between the three when she left.
And even if they've had hard times in Wow's history, they remained noble and honorable, whereas their 'cousins' lick the Orcs' and corpses' boots.Pathetic! No means war!!!
Ahem. Dangling civilians over Sharks whilst Force-choking them then dropping them into the Shark's mouth, murdering unarmed civilians and torture are 'Noble and Honourable' now?
As for licking boots, how are their new Human Overlords working out for them these days?
Come on, you can come up with a better argument for -actual- High Elves than that.

Guess that after their home and families were leveled, the unarmed citizens resisting arrest were not considered so innocent....
That interrogation/torture thing .. Is it in game or in books? (left out MoP thats why I'am asking)

Its in game, hang on, I'll find the Silver Cov NPC who does it...

And yeah, its during the Purge of Dalaran, so would be towards the middle of MoP, its part of the 'Operation Shieldwall' quest chain which ends with the Purge.

Watched a vid about that operation and missed this totally. Thanks.
