I can’t post in the customer support for whatever reason.
I’m doing the campaign questline and I’m stuck on the quest “In The Right Hands”. I have to pick up two weapons from the ground, but one of them cannot be picked up or interacted with. I tried abandoning the quest and logging out but it didn’t help. I opened a ticket and got an automated response to use the item recovery tool. I can’t recover a quest item that I never had in my inventory…
I guess I’ll have to wait for a few hours for another response and I cannot continue the campaign. I’ve been on and off for ages and must say the customer support really went down in the years. I remember opening a ticket would result in a GM whispering to you in-game to communicate about the issue.
Can confirm that other players are experiencing the same issue!
Some comments on WoWhead suggest turning Warmode on/off or joining a group to get to a different shard as a workaround.
Same. This is the second quest that’s broken for me due to not being able to click something. It worries me that this isn’t in their known issues list.
We just ran into the same issue. Warmode didnt help but we solved it otherwise:
If you have a friend on a different realm (can also be horde), make them to go to the place and invite you to the party. This way you get zoned into their phase.
This way we could pick up the item and fixed it. Maybe it works for you guys too <3

Just had this issue with a friend, and we managed to fix it. What @Valexya says works well.
More specifically what we did is (just to avoid confusion): have a friend on another realm go to the location and defeat the enemy inside. Ensure that you cannot see each other yet!!! The friend then stands inside the building (not sure if this matters; it worked for us like this!), and invites you to a group, which should indeed zone you into their phase. Then you should be able to pick up the item.

Yes, the Warmode and permade groups didn’t work for me either. However, there is a workaround. You need to stand near the quest item and completely log out of the game for 20-25 minutes. When you log back in, I was able to pick up the quest item. Of course, I also performed a game repair beforehand, so it’s unclear whether the game repair helped or if it was the 20-25 minute logout.
But I can confirm that I completed this quest.
