Question about Cataclysm levelling

Originally I stopped playing wow when cataclysm released and I never experienced it.
I would like to play a character from level 1 in the upcoming cataclysm classic.
I just wanna ask about the levelling process.max level is 85 and we have the old world revamped does this means that I don’t have to go to outlands and northrend to level up between 60-80??

Esactly, leveling a fresh character will work the same at it was in 2010, you level from 1 to 58 in the revamped EK/kalimdor, from 58 to 68 Outland, from 68 to 80 Northrend and then in the new Cataclysm zones.

Old world revamped refers to Eastern Kingdom and Kalimdor. Leveling from 1-60 will be a different experience than it was before, but 60-70 Outland and 70-80 Northerend remains the same, they dont get revamped.
I think you will enjoy Cataclysm. The expansion got a bad rep for some reason, but the leveling zones are some of my favorites of all time.

If this is about Classic Wrath becoming Classic Cataclysm later this year, there is a lovely XP bonus atm. Great time to level.

But cata 1-60 is sooo much better than vanilla 1-60.

Fully agreed!

I hope they change it so that you can level 1-80 in the new revamped classic zones and not have to set foot in Outland/Nothrend. They have the tech to do it so why not?

They won’t because “that’s not classic”.

I wish that was true

WTH have you been smoking?

Quality of life improvements.

I agree aswell, especially after doing it a lot in 2019 classic, TBCC and Wrath C.
You might not agree, and that’s fine, but purely based on facts post cata zones are:

  • better looking, more colorful
  • smoother zone transition
  • more variety in quests
  • decent stories during questing, questlines mostly have a satisfying end. Booty Bay invasion comes to mind, or Redridge.
  • Better rewards during questing. No more plate with spirit.
  • doesn’t take weeks to level (mainly classic era, not so much in Wrath with heirlooms)
  • the world feels more lived- in.

Did vanilla leveling feel more like a grand adventure? Yes, I won’t argue that, but the world feels dated, static, lifeless.

Edit: TBC will forever be my fav expansion, but 1-60 is just better in cata.

I agree as well. Mostly about each zone has a story to tell. What I always disliked in classic since 2006 is that you finish 3 quests then you have to go to a new area to do 2 more of the same level. The quests would out level you fast.
And that’s is kinda waste of time for no purpose
