Any gathering experts here? Why does it say that I have 173 skill for draconium deposits and it requires 155 skill to gather at max quality, yet when I mine I only get 2 quality ore?
I’ll have a look, but I strongly suspect it has something to do with Specialisations.
The big bonus to
Metallurgy is being able to refine
Serevite Ore,
Draconium Ore, and
Khaz’gorite Ore, which upgrades the quality (1 to 2 for Serevite and Draconium, 2 to 3 for Khaz’gorite). Since higher quality ore is needed in all of the best items for crafting professions that use ore, this is a huge bonus. This also gives a chance to uncover
Awakened Order while refining Khaz’gorite.
Sub-specializing in
Serevite allows it to be refined from Quality 2 to 3, and increases Deftness, Finesse, and Perception when mining Serevite nodes. At the end of this tree, you have a chance to find Gems when mining Serevite. Sub-specializing in
Draconium has a similar effect on Draconium nodes, except that in the end you have a chance to mine random Rousing essences instead of gems.
I am talking about gathering, not refining
I have the same issue with herbalism. Hochenblume requires 120 for the maximum quality, yet I’m still getting 2 star Hochenblumes at 131. Seen this posted in quite a few places but no answers.
Idk if you’ve figured it out or not but the skill required in the profession journal for max rank is a chance to loot max rank. The higher your skill, the more likely you’ll see it. It should be more clear but it is what it is.
Yes, it’s not clear at all, anyone knows how I can determine the skill needed to always mine quality 3 material?
