Question about getting legendary item and leveling it up in Shadowlands

I have changed my mind about getting legendary item and after pondering and doing some base item calculations I landed on Signet of Tormented Kings as I can make a ring legendary from it. What is the smartest choice to start the legendary? Should I buy all base items from rank 1 to max?

So, you want to craft the Signet of Tormented Kings legendary on the ring slot, but you’re not crafting the base item yourself, right?

In that case, buy whatever rank base item you want and have the soul ash, cinder and/or flux for. There’s no reason to start from rank 1, you can go directly to rank 7, or whatever rank you can afford (gold & currency-wise).

Just farm torghast for Soul Ash, Soul Cinders and Flux. Buy the 291 item, missives and be sure to have the legendary power unlocked. Then go ham Also, remember your 2. legendary Unity one. Same system but that can be only Covenant one

What everyone else said - buy the base 291 ring and for the missives, go for haste and mastery. Unless you’re going above m+15 or LFR, then the free legendary belt is perfectly adequate too, when you get it sat the end of the ZM campaign

Dont even need torghast at this point,there is a lot of flux in zm and u can buy sa and cinders chest for it

Something to bear in mind is that the rank of the Legendary doesn’t affect the Legendary power itself. You get better stats on it if the rank is higher, that’s all. So if the rank 6 is alot lot cheaper than the 7 just get that, you’re missing out on little.

Ended up crafting 2 legendaries as I accidentally crafted wrong one at first… However luckily I went with super cheap 210 base item as I mainly wanted to get the Leaper legendary for extra speed in soloing old content. The accidentally crafted legendary got Seismic Reverberation which boosts my Whirlwind which makes them perfect for Torghast runs.
