Question about mount equipment

as i understand, the 20%+ to mount speed only gives in total 10%+, because of the already aquired mountspeed buff from the guild perk. I can see how the waterwalking clearly is good. But is’nt 10%+ mountspeed still better in general??
Also, when i equip a mount equipment does it also apply it to my other characters or just the one i bought and equiped the item on??

Which is better? You decide for you. I have decided that waterwalking is more convenient for me, at least for very low-level alts that can’t fly. Maybe Shadowlands will change that, if there isn’t a lot of water to walk on, until we get flying.

The mount equipment slot is specific to your character. You can have water walking on your Paladin, and anti-daze on your Mage, if you want.

BTW, it’s outrageous that you can’t assign different equipment to different mounts - that was one of the times the devs had a collective bout of insanity.

So i am right when i say that the speed buff is only 10%?

I haven’t tested it myself, but a comment on Wowhead says:

Does not stack with other speed increases (Guild perk, Pathfinder, etc) and only affects ground speed. I can see this maybe being useful for low level leveling, but for BfA tier characters, you’re better off using another piece of equipment and just keeping a few Monel-Hardened Hoofplates on hand if you’re not maxed out already.

so that suggests you are right.
