Not to the degree of “former” RP realms. It’s the only realm where RP is still happening and has a huge community.

Let me tell you, when we had a big event at the start of 8.2.5 which was our own version of Sylvanas abandoning the Horde, we were unfortunately phased in with other ‘RP’ servers like Defias Brotherhood. Long story short, the event was partly ruined by people constantly flying up to us going ‘what are you all doing XD’ constantly or just deciding to troll the event.
I feel like people don’t understand the dynamics of what killed the other RP servers- they got raiding/social/pvp guilds and, seeing that RP servers have that extra dimension of being able to watch RP people started flocking to them until they became mainstream servers. Influx of players meant the RPers got trolled out of existence and without RP all of the social players who had flocked to the servers left. This is kind of why there is such a lot of pushback against social guilds/raiding guilds/pvp guilds on this server; because instead of RPing and doing content, the server slowly gets turned towards just guilds who do content because unfortunately those guilds can and will attract some rather toxic players who would rather disrupt RP than just watch like some people do.

And that should encourage non-RPers to come here how? All they do is take up “space” for eventual RPers to play here.
If they/you have no intention of RPing, I am certain one of the many PvE-realms will be to their/your linking aswell. You even get bonus points for not taking up space in an RP-realm, or for not breaking immersion for RPers to!
So non-RPers should really get their stuff and move to a PvE-realm. Its better for everyone including themselves.

I always thought the mindset some OOCers have when they come here because they like to ‘watch the RP’ and ‘enjoy an immersive world’ is very selfish, because yes, RPers are themselves here for RP and immersive world, but by not contributing you are lessening those very qualities on this realm and making it less RP-friendly and fun for everyone else.
Could you imagine if the Trade District or Tradewinds Market were actual RP hubs instead of places where even attempting to RP is risky due to OOCers spamming your chat and standing on you with mammoths?
That was part of why I did not mind garrisons, by the way. In principle, it’s good to have a place for people to OOC-AFK that won’t ever risk getting in the way of RP.

You can use that line of thought to justify literally anything
If you want an " RP " server where people don’t RP but has imersion^^, check out Defias Brotherhood, Moonglade, Earthen Ring or actually any other RP server but Argent Dawn. The players there had the same mindset (those that didn’t transfer here, at least!)

Having just moved from Earthen Ring …
RP does exist on at least that RP server. It’s just on a much smaller scale and very much concentrated within 2-4 groups of very dedicated people.
But it does exist. And for the most part, folks on ER don’t troll RPers. ER’s problem isn’t the rest of the population being insensitive to RP - a large chunk are former RPers - but the fact there is practically no other/new population and it’s dying.
I can’t speak for the other RP servers though.
