Question about scaling and secondary stats

How profound is scaling in PvP? I keep hearing conflicting reports.

Some claim that PvP scaling makes everyone equal on a baseline numerical value, but the differences between a geared and nongeared player lies in the essences/corruptions and secondary stats.

E.g there is no (big?) difference between an ilev 440 and 470 character, and the 440 char may be effectively stronger if it sports a significant portion of secondary stats, i.e. 40% versatility or something.

Does PvP scaling work the same across wPvP, Arena and BGs, or are there any differences?

a 470 character will kill a 440 in 2 second  scalling thanks to god no longer exists

This is absolutely wrong.

last time i even felt scalling was back in season 2 it’s all about the gear now

Its all about versa and versa corruption now.

Sorry if it seems rude but the fact that you don’t feel it now doesn’t mean that it’s not there in any way. Kind of a very affirmative sentence without any source there… anyways! Plenty of clips expose the scaling even this season.

Bragamond posted this a while ago. It’s an explanation from a WoW designer.

You are not being rude at all.
but for me personally something that is so small that you have to experiment to see it and feel it.
Not feeling it in the actual gameplay makes it irrelevant and basically not existing.
May the season 1 scaling never returns.

While it’s not as potent as season 1 scaling indeed, I find it still in effect. It just acts weird. Sometimes someone should die from your hit and if you look at a replay you can notice that their health bar lost less points than the number written on your screen.
