Question About The Death Knights Eternal Hunger

Hello everyone,

So I am soon going to RP with my DK once I have leveled him a bit and I have been doing some research to make sure I RP him correctly with the current lore.

However one part has me curious, the Eternal Hunger.

So to sate my hunger, I would need to inflict pain on to another creature. Therefore my question is, does a DKs hunger sate quicker if they inflict pain on a humanoid rather than a creature/animal?

I am thinking of making him go out and hunt bears etc, when he feels his hunger returning. But if a Human makes his hunger decrease quicker then he might hunt criminals. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Well, on wowpedia it says the death knight just has to inflict pain on another creature, without specifying if it is a humanoid or a creature/animal.

How you will play this out may depend on the sort of death knight you play. My own death knight Salfalur tries to mitigate the Hunger by using creatures and animals as you say, or just enemies like cultists or demons and Old God monsters if he can get his hands on them.

However I have also seen people that roleplay their death knights as far less caring about the living and just take whoever is in their way ( Though I would not do this too often and too indiscriminate or you might face repercussions!).

Ah cool, thank you for your thoughts.

Also another question, how often does the hunger return? Is it a once per day kind of thing?

Quite a few Death Knight RPers simply address the hunger “off screen” when they are not RPing the character, as not to be a burden when actually RPing. Others address it IC with enemies, creatures etc. I would say it is mainly up to you to decide, but if you are new to Death Knight RP, perhaps leaving the hunger for the time being, letting the character deal with it off screen while you get a feel for it.

I really hope you enjoy Death Knight RP, it can be very rewarding.
