So i wasn’t really able to find official information about this, so here i am. Question is what key do you get in your weekly chest, is it a -1 or -2 from the highest key you did last week as this seems to be very inconsistent for me. Most people say -1, but that’s not the case for me most of the times. Last week i did an 11 and today i got a 9 from the chest, a friend who did that same 11 with me and nothing else that week got a 10. This has been continuously happening for me throughout this expansion and it’s pretty annoying as i don’t even know why and it seems random (which i hope it’s not). The only difference is i did not have a key in my bag when completing that 11, however that’s still a +11 key completed for the week, so i still don’t get how this system works as sometimes i get a -1 and other times it’s a -2. Does depleting the key have anything to do with it, or not having a key in you bag? Any info is appreciated.
Beating the timer rewards the party with a new, higher-level Keystone of a random dungeon, and a Challenger’s Cache that contains Artifact Power and 3 pieces of loot at an appropriate ilvl.
If you miss the timer but complete the dungeon , you will still get the Challenger’s Cache upon killing the final boss of the dungeon containing Artifact Power and 2 pieces of loot. The
Mythic Keystone will point to a random dungeon that is one level lower than the one you just used.
If you are unable to complete the dungeon , you will have a Keystone that is one level lower for the same dungeon and receive no loot.
All I can find is…
- A
Mythic Keystone, at an appropriate Keystone level.
It is quite possible that it takes into account how many keystone dungeons you do over the week and which keystone level and it uses an algortyhm to decide which is appropriate for you.
So in your example, it may be that your friend did more +11’s than you did so he fell into a slightly higher bracket.
I am assuming all of this of course, but it would fit how blizzard do things.
You get -1 level keystone in your chest from what you did that week.
example - you did Mythic+21 - your chest will contain Level 20 key.
I doubt this is the case, some of my friends do more keys than me in a week but we all get appropriate -1s.
I’m assuming Mlemmi did not complete a key the previous week (the post says he/she did not have a key), so maybe that’s why the key is -2?
Did your friend complete a key the week you missed?
This is indeed really inconsistent, i have gotten 9 or 10 Keys from my chest on my Hunter while i only did a 2 due to lack of playtime. I’ve also gotten a 9 key from a 0 while not doing any dungeons for 2 week before that… Oh and also ive gotten Sots 6 week in a row now, so i’m beginning to think something isnt completely right here…
Especially when you have off-weeks you get ‘interesting’ behavior.
Usually you get a -1 key in your weekly box, but when you ‘skip’ a week you have no box. Then the first mythic dungeon (can also be a M0) you do gives your key. The level is based on your ‘average’ highest key level done in the past.
Also when you do weekly a key, but you do for example a very low key in a week, you still get a key level based on your history from your weekly chest.
i did +9 and beat the timer but i still get +8 key from my box.
But i never use mine as i always join the motherlode mythic as it is the easiest one out there.
The key from ‘the box’ is always lower than the highest dungeon you have done, no matter the time. -1 is actually the standard.
It is only personal experience on my alts, but I think it takes 1 level every week you pause.
But to be honest I though this only mattered for the key you get at the end of a dungeon and if you finished a key the previous week you always get the highest key of that previous week-1. Seems like i am mistaken, but from what I experienced -1 for a “missed” week seemed pretty consistent.
The -2 sounds more like a bug to me. It should be at least the level of -1 of the highest dungeon done previous week.
But it looks like some kind of behavior that the game thinks you deleted your key, what was able to do in the 1st season. At least for a while. For every time you deleted your key you got a -1 extra on the keylevel…
Maybe it is this scenario;
A week no dungeons so no box. Get next week the key from a dungeon. The game thinks you have ‘deleted’ your key, and in the next weekly box you get a -2 instead of -1.
Would still be a bug though.
Yeah, that would be the only difference, i had not completed a key the previous week and they had. So this is the only “logical” explanation to it, but i still haven’t found any actual information if this is the case.
exactly this if you skip a week it will go down .
Sounds plausible. If the game thinks having no key means it was deleted and auto goes -2 instead of -1. Still pretty stupid if that’s the case. I’m frustrated there’s no official information on this anywhere and everyone has to basically speculate…
My key is always -1 of the keystone I did the previous reset.
However I found this FAQ for you
Well, that at least answers my question, thank you!
Well i have reported this when it happened to me and then i got a response saying they couldnt do anything about it and i kinda just had to roll with it so that does’nt really work either
I’m confused. The linked information says they are aware and are currently investigating. It doesn’t state there is any fix yet.
There is no point filing a ticket about a known bug, the are Customer Service Agents, they can’t fix bugs. It is better to report any bug you come across via the bug report system in game. You wont get a response but the information goes to the right people. However in this case, they are aware of the issue and investigating.
I though it was like that too, but last week my best was a +12 and this week i got a 14 key, which is -1 from the +15 key i had last week and did not use.
I’m clearly missing something.
Also the average of the last couple of weeks determines your next weekly key. When you go down in a week, for whatever reason, you still get that higher key since the system ‘remembered’.
